School-indoctrination video retrieved!

posted at 12:15 pm on September 24, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Yesterday, Allahpundit wrote about this creepy attempt at indoctrination at B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington Township, NJ, but Michelle wrote this morning that the June 2009 video had been removed from YouTube.  I kicked myself for not having captured it when I had the chance, but I also figured someone else would have done so.  It turns out that I was right, and I found the video of children singing a song to their dear leader on another YouTube channel:

Oops!  Sorry, wrong Dear Leader, wrong indoctrination song. Here’s the one we want, but I also want to point out more creepiness in the song:

Allahpundit noted the reference to the hymn, “Jesus loves the little children,” which might be more suitable for a Sunday school class in homage to the Lord rather than a public school performance in honor of The One. The trouble is not just the lifting of the lyrics but the fact that the new song heralds Obama as some sort of deity figure:

Barack Hussein Obama
He said Red, Yellow, Black or White
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!

“In his sight”? That sounds rather … Biblical, doesn’t it? It’s language almost exclusively used in religious contexts, especially when it comes to human equality. After all, the point is not whether people are equal in the sight of Gracie Lou Freebush of Hackensack, but in the eyes of an Almighty, whom most people acknowledge as Creator.

Having children chant about Obama as if he were a deity is what leads eventually to the kind of conditions depicted in the first clip. I don’t mean that as an accusation that Obama wants that, but it’s that kind of cult of personality that creates conditions for political disasters like fascism and dictatorships. People who think of themselves as free citizens and politicians as public servants should be embarrassed by this kind of worship — and the parents of these children should be at the school today demanding an accounting for the cult-like indoctrination attempted by these administrators.

Note: Please do not post contact information for the school or the teachers in the comments.  Any such posts will be deleted immediately.  Let the parents handle the situation; as conservatives, we should be supportive of local control.

Does anyone remember the hue and cry that liberals raised over that documentary Jesus Camp, where children were praying in front of a cardboard cut-out of Pres. Bush? The difference I see here is that parents sent their children voluntarily to that camp, but this Obama song is being taught in a public school. Notice the one kid off to the side who is less than enthusiastic about participating.

The Obama administration has notified Congress of the State Department’s intention to contribute $400,000 to foundations run by Muammar Qaddafi’s two children — $200,000 each for daughter Aisha and son Saif. This country is low-hanging fruit for a charismatic dictator. We don’t think he’s charasmatic, but so many people don’t believe in anything except their own naval, and they would follow a garbage truck if they thought it was cool. The weak, the lost, the dependent and the deranged now have their Jim Jones and they will follow him over the cliff. The children are in the greatest danger. This has got to be rebuffed pronto.

It must be said that if Obama didn’t want this sort of adulation, he would not foster it. Greek columns, echo chamber audio systems, moronic icons/logos, non-stop speechifying. Of course he wants this. He’s a soul-less narcissist straight from central casting. This is really getting more dangerous every day.

No surprise. If you take a good look inside most public schools today it is understandable how this comes to pass.

I remember when my oldest was in first grade and the teacher put on a Christmas 4 song set for the kids to sing for the parents.

Two were standard Christmas songs and two were Jewish oriented songs to encompass Hanukkah at the insistence of one kids mother.

One of the girls in the class was Jordanian. I recall the day well and the shock on the Jordanian fathers face when he saw his daughter singing a Jewish song. The next day the little girl was not in class. Her dad transferred her to a new school.

The teacher showed insensitivity all the way around. The irony never hit her. This I am sure of.

Point is I can see how some dimwit teacher may think having “her” kids sing to the Messiah president is a good idea.

Private schools were invented for a reason.

I thought the same thing upon reading this. Subtly fanning the flames of the “fascist” nonsense among the posters here is one thing, openly equating the POTUS with Hitler in a post is quite another..

Lighten up, Francis.

I really don’t believe Ed would “equate” Hitler with Obama. It’s simply an example of how kids, and many of the populace, can so easily be swayed.

I could very easily see someone taking these lyrics….

Barack Hussein Obama
He said Red, Yellow, Black or White
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!

…and changing that line “All are equal in his sight” to “All are equal, except for…., using what still is a rather crude and insulting reference to Jewish people starting with the letter K, and you would have a much more accurate version of this stupid ditty, particularly in reference to his recent comments on Israel.

Another reason to eliminate the Department of Education and the NEA….

PatriotRider on September 24, 2009 at 12:27 PM

The GOP wants to bulk up the Dept. of Defense and get rid of the Dept of Education. Laughably predictable. This is a conservative’s dream — keep ‘em stupid, uneducated, uninformed, and armed so they will be GOP zombies for life!

People who think of themselves as free citizens and politicians as public servants should be embarrassed by this kind of worship

Are you kidding? See Chris Matthews’ reaction to all things Obama. He is now America’s, and the world’s, pop culture.

It was clearly stupid of the teachers or administrators involved.

crr6 on September 24, 2009 at 12:37 PM

The Obama administration encouraged this, via the instructions, which later were removed by tour of embarrassment.
