Quote of the day

posted at 10:55 pm on September 24, 2009 by Allahpundit

“Obama had not as yet written anything. But he had taped interviews with family members. Andersen writes: ‘These oral histories, along with a partial manuscript and a truckload of notes, were given to Ayers.’ Look over those words. A man Obama said before the campaign — after conservative pundits continually raised the issue that he was friends with an ‘unrepentent terrorist’ — that he knew only in passing as someone in the neighborhood. He was simply an acquaintance — not someone he had any real friendship or relationship with. Yet Obama evidently gave Ayers his notes, tapes, and the small amount that he had already written…

Finally, Christopher Andersen concludes: ‘In the end, Ayers’s contribution to Barack’s Dreams From My Father would be significant — so much so that the book’s language, oddly specific references, literary devices, and themes would bear a jarring similarity to Ayers’s own writing.’…

Now Andersen gives no sources or names; the Obamas did not cooperate with him. Skeptics will argue that we have no way of knowing whether his claims can be verified, and we have no way of knowing the veracity of those he interviewed. Who, for example, was the Hyde Park neighbor he spoke with? Some might even argue that he reached his conclusion after reading Cashill’s original blog, without citing it. Andersen faces the same credibility problem Bob Woodward faces, since he is often charged with making outrageous charges in some of his books without offering any proof that conversations he could not have been privy to took place. But Woodward’s use of such a technique never has hurt his reputation. After all, he is Bob Woodward. Reviewers of Andersen’s book have had no compunction in labeling much of what he writes as pure ‘gossip.’”

ALLAHP & ED:

do you REALLY want the truth?

then “unseal” the agreement between obama and the literary agent who sold dreams… JANE DYSTEL.

UNSEAL IT. if you can.

obama broke his contract with jane dystel. a nyc literary agent. she sued. they settled. for $. and an agreement she wouldn’t talk.

(maybe if someone made it worth her while she would talk?)

o posted abiout this in 2005!

excerpt:

After graduating from Harvard Law, the then utterly unknown Obama was contacted by a bright aggressive literary agent who thought he might have a story to tell. They signed a contract. The agent sold his book.

After his pretty convention speech in 2004 – (and before he was elected to the Senate)- he unilaterally broke this contract in order to sign with another bigger agent (who he was introduced to by Clinton, they say!). He eventually “settled” with his first agent.

i posted on this again in 2006!

excerpt:

After graduating from Harvard Law, the then utterly unknown Obama was contacted by a bright aggressive NYC literary agent who thought – because of Obama’s mixed heritage and modest background – BHO Jr might have an interesting story to tell. They signed a contract. After much work, the agent sold Obama Jr’s book. It was Obama Jr’s first.

After Obama Jr’s pretty and pretty well-received convention speech in 2004 – (and before he was elected to the Senate) – he broke this contract with this agent, (the one who picked him up out of nowhere and got him his first book deal), in order to sign with a bigger agent, (to whom he was introduced by perjurer Bill Clinton).

Instead of being loyal to the agent who helped put him on the map, he dumped her the first chance he got, and jumped on to the roster of a bigger bigshot – who didn’t have to break a sweat in order to sell Obama Jr’s SECOND book! (Barack Hussein Obama Jr. eventually agreed to a settlement for breaking his contract with his first agent.)

jane has the answer, perhaps.

I was watching one of those forensics shows and there was someone on there who could identify people through their use of language..through what they wrote. She said that there is a unique voice for everyone and it can be identified, just like hand writing.

I wonder if someone like that could look at something Obama actually wrote {assuming something exists} and compare it to the book…the same with Ayers.

Terrye on September 24, 2009 at 11:01 PM

That is true. Biblical criticism (the field, not the pejorative) relies heavily on textual observation. So-and-so did or did not write this book or it was written in Aramaic or Hebre before it was translated into Koiné Greek are just a few of the things linuistic study examines.

I had English Comp 801. (And you guys complained about Comp 101.) It was about how to examine an author’s style to see how it affected the telling of the story. And those Lit guys are ate up about that stuff.

One can look at MackDaddy’s book and compare it with Ayer’s writing and tell you right quick if he had a hand in writing it.

They could compare it with MackDaddy’s writing as well, but they (along with his birth cert.) have been sealed from public scrutiny. Transparency and all.

When a good writer speaks ad lib you can immediately recognize their literary talent. Their choice of words betray what is known as a “writer’s eye.” Putting together words to make sentences is what they do and they do it damn well whether they’re typing on a keyboard or using their vocal chords.

When I hear Obama speak without notes, I do not sense a writer’s eye at all. In fact he has a distinctly crude and clumsy way of putting things. No more than any other normal person – but normal people aren’t gifted writers. “Dreams” is an acclaimed book. It was written by a talented writer. That writer was not Obama. It’s as simple as that. My money’s on Ayers.

rockmom on September 25, 2009 at 12:31 AM

Cashill was on “The B Cast” on Breitbart.tv yesterday and made a compelling case why Obama’s book is actually a creation of Bill Ayers.
With all the craziness that is Bill Ayers, he is a great writer. Cashill read and quoted Ayers’ works and compared it to “Dreams of My Father” and it was astoundingly similar.
As well as Obama’s lack of creativity in his current speeches, and conversations, proves his writing is a farce.
Obama used a lot of sea and sailing references, which he knows nothing about.
Ayers worked in the sea, and has an abundant knowledge of it.
I recommend everyone to watch that interview.

You don’t need to be a forensics expert to utilize this fact. In my business in New York I have many competitors who are listed alongside me in the Google local business listings. Those listings contain “customer submitted” reviews. I once noted that some of my competitors had 3 or 4 times more reviews than me despite not being larger businesses, so I read through them all. What a joke – it is so easy to tell that they’ve been written by the same person. You can tell by the way they structure sentences, by their grammatical quirks, their use (and misuse) of punctuation, phrases that pop up again and again etc. I came to the conclusion that anyone with half a brain reading those reviews would see that they were fake and that they would not reflect well on their business. I’m no expert but I don’t need forensics to recognize a voice in writing.

Ayers did not help Obama get a publisher. Obama was approached originally by a publisher after an article ran about him in the New York Times being the first black president of Harvard Law Review. He received a 6 figure advance, but never submitted a manuscript. He had to return all but I think $40,000 of that advance and then submitted Dreams in 1995, 4 years late.

Dreams has undergone forensic style textual analysis, but even professionals say it is not as reliable as a finger print or voice comparison. Nonetheless the results were damning for Obama the literary genius. The words of attribution test strongly indicates Ayers wrote much of Dreams. Attribution words are words tha introduce conversation, like “He said, noted offered etc.” The frequencey of attribution words in Dreams closely parallels Fugutive Days, which was Ayers own memoirs of his days on the run written near the same time. Also in Fugitive Days and Dreams there are frequently strings of three modifiers connected with commas and no conjunction, like “he was disconnected, aloof, alone,” which is a unique writing style. There are also a lot of seafaring analogies about dark seas, stormy seas in both books. The single wierdest part for me is that both books contain a story of the author explaining to tourists in New York along the East River that the river flows upstream from the Ocean because it’s a tidal river. What a remarkable coincidence. Then there is Obama’s story about his white girlfriend, who is described to appear exactly as former Weather Underground bomber Diana Oughton. Obama even visits her mansion built by her grandfather with a pond. (Oughton came from old money and lived in a mansion built by her grandfather with a pond. She was Ayers true love before a bomb she was building to plant at Fort Dix detonated accidentally killing her and 2 other Weathermen. So the story is an homage by Ayers to her in Obama’s book, or just an amazing coincidence.)

AnninCA; for your edification, a direct quote from Prarie Fire; compliments William Ayers & Co.:

Socialism is the total opposite of capitalism/imperialism. It is the rejection of empire and white supremacy. Socialism is the violent overthrow of the bourgeoisie, the establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat, and the eradication of the social system based on profit. Socialism means control of the productive forces for the good of the whole community instead of the few who live on hilltops and in mansions. Socialism means priorities based on human need instead of corporate greed. Socialism creates the conditions for a decent and creative quality of life for all.

Anything in there that sounds vaguely familiar?

Obama served as Chairman of the Board of the Annenberg Project from 1995 to 2001. OBAMA himself was in charge of distributing 100 million dollars which had been donated for the radical educational purposes of the Annenberg Project.

He was hand picked for this position by one of the creators and directors of the Annenberg Project, even though this person was nothing more than a neighbor of Obama’s, a casual acquaintance by the name of Bill Ayers. The records of this venture have been sealed.

Everything I wrote above re: the Annenberg Project is true beyond question and a matter of public record. Yes, the actual day-to-day operating files of the Project have been sealed, but not the names of the Founders, Board Members and amount of money donated for distribution. Please read the article below by Dr. Stanley Kurtz, Senior Fellow of the Ethics and Public Policy Center who has done a yeoman’s job of investigating the Obama/Ayers Annenberg connection.

Dr. Kurtz has also been on Hannity, O’Reilly, etc., before the election, but his story broke on Fox not long before the financial meltdown, so it got washed away in that tsunami…

As for the second half of my post – that was purely my opinion, although I do stand by it.

Cashill rightfully points out that obama was an awful writer before this literary transformation occurred. How disturbing is it to know that all of these things just NOW coming to the surface, were discussed at length prior to the election?

I remember reading about the ghost writing theory and trying to spread the word. Everything we did hit a massive brick wall. All partisan politics aside, THIS information mattered. The population needed to know who they were truly electing.

What’s most annoying about Obama/the press/the country is the unwillingness to apply the same social standards to Obama as they do to themselves, friends and family. We all agree that who a person associates themselves with reflects who they are. When you get a critical mass of like-mindedness, you can start to form correlation. This, for purely biased reasons, was never acknowledged. This man whisked into office with NO RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENT except being an attractive black man (which is even debatable.) There was nothing to commend him in the first place except words on a screen he READ WELL. Even those who propped him up from the very beginning were summarily thrown under the bus when they became politically inconvenient. When we look at all these associations he’s thrown aside, all of these organizations, and we hear the continual refrain, “That’s not the _____ I knew,” or, “I am unaware of _____,” we have to (again) conclude one of two things:

he’s a liar (and, by extension, quite similar to his associates) or
he’s a frighteningly naive individual.

We want neither in the White House.

…which is exactly why I’ve upped my alcohol consumption considerably…

*Sorry for the rant.

I am not sure it would matter to most people anyway. The people who adore Obama, are going to love the man no matter who wrote the book…and the people who don’t already think he is a fraud.

Speaking of books, I hear that a writer out there is saying Clinton compared Gore to Mussolini. Ah, the Clintons. Now there was a class act.

Well, doesn’t this little turn of events just simply parallel the writing of the Bible. Maybe it is merely prophecy…

The Bible is God’s word, but he didn’t write it by his own hand…Paul, David, John, Mark et al. did. It was inspired by God’s true word.

So, isn’t The One’s story falling nicely in line with God’s authorship of his word. Barry inspired Ayers to pen his story so Ayers should really be seen in line with maybe Paul or Luke?

God’s Word
“Behold, I am God; give heed to my word, which is quick and powerful, sharper than a two edged sword, to the dividing asunder of both joint and marrow; therefore, give heed unto my word.”

Now Obama’s word:
“Behold, I am Obama; give heed to my word, which is snappy and eloquent, sharper than a two dollar bill, to the dividing asunder of both House and Senate; therefore, give heed unto my word.”

think about it.

Shiny_Tiara on September 25, 2009 at 7:51 AM

Does this make Christopher Andersen a ghost-buster?

faraway on September 24, 2009 at 11:10 PM

Wait a minute. Ghost. Spook is another name for ghost. Spook is a racial slur towards black people.

The campaign is over, who cares who this guy associated with prior to his election, at this point.

Fact is, this radical clown has demonstrated that he is far, far outside the mainstream of an America he clearly hates.

We have a record now and we’ll throw him out of office on that basis. Worrying about Bill Ayers going forward is a waste of time.

NoDonkey on September 25, 2009 at 8:56 AM

Why it matters:

Bill Ayers quote from his $hitty book

“We are a guerrilla organization. We are communist women and men, underground in the United States for more than four years. We are deeply affected by the historic events of our time in the struggle against U.S. imperialism.
Our intention is to disrupt the empire, to incapacitate it, to put pressure on the cracks, to make it hard to carry out its bloody functioning against the people of the world, to join the world struggle, to attack from the inside.”

To think, this man has our Presidents trust…

Anything in there that sounds vaguely familiar?

Sleep well.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up what Annin believes…she thanks you.

Barry is a poser and a fraud through and through.

I think the American Thinker article notes that both hermeneuticists and software have pretty much established that the same author wrote Dreams and at least one of Ayres’s books. It focused, among other things, on Ayres’s use of nautical imagery and terminology, the same as found in Obooba’s Dreams.

Just one more lie by the Communists.

If you haven’t seen this video, watch it, there are video clips that are amazing. Please get the word out about this. I think the lid is really coming off of it big time.

How ironic will it be if our “brilliant” first black American president and his “literary gifts” are proved to be largely the fictional creation of a middle-class white guy named Billy Ayers? It’s no wonder Barry and Michelle are so upset about Andersen’s book. If the myth of Barry as the brilliant author of Dreams from My Father gets blown up, what’s next?

it just so happens that that white guy named billy ayers is also a domestic terrorist that should be in prison.

Is that the book he dedicated to Sirhan Sirhan?

Obooba spoke at Chapaquiddick Ted’s funeral even though his good buddy Ayres tipped his hat to Bobby’s murderer. Priceless.

Sooo….”President of the United States? What United States? That is so 20th Century, and so beneath my true abilities; a mere stepping stone to be used and destroyed on my way to greater things”, says Barry in his crazymaking mind.

We are in free-fall with a psycho whose entire life is a lie with one purpose – destroy the USA so the chess board is clear and the New Global Order can be ushered in with our very own Obamatyrant as King of the World.

tigerlily on September 25, 2009 at 3:35 AM

Apologies, tigerlily. At first read, I thought you were actually attributing the quoted words to Dear Leader.

I jumped to a conclusion while skimming, when I should have been reading.

She was Ayers true love before a bomb she was building to plant at Fort Dix detonated accidentally killing her and 2 other Weathermen. So the story is an homage by Ayers to her in Obama’s book, or just an amazing coincidence.)
Ted Torgerson on September 25, 2009

It wasn’t an accident (or as Obama would say “a accident”). Bombs go boom! That’s what they do.

As the saying goes for those who work with bombs, “if ya make a mistake don’t worry about it, you’ll will have the rest of your life to correct it!”

Oh and AnninCA, if the bomb hadn’t gone bomb killing the 3 Ayers idiots, it would have gone bomb at Fort Dix NCO club killing many soldiers and civilians.

If it weren’t for Jimmy the MORON Carter, Ayers and his skank would be rotting in prison right now!
