Actually, it’s just Kyl who’s shouting. I wonder if this is (a) anger fueled by his secret right-wing racism towards Barack Obama, (b) frustration at having to suppress his homicidal conservative urges, or (c) a combination of the two. I’m sure Maureen Dowd will tell us this weekend.
The new spin on the left, incidentally, is that the rift between Blue Dogs and progressives is healing and that the glorious boondoggle will be passed by Thanksgiving. Funny thing, though: The evidence seems to point the other way, with both sides dug in, hostile to Baucus’s compromise plan, and flirting with disaster in waiting until after the off-year election results in early November that might spook Blue Dogs even more. Why, it’s almost as if the Democratic grassroots is trying to will a bill into being by the sheer force of its spin, replete with inane poll interpretations in which they claim, in all seriousness, that Republicans will be the ones who suffer in the midterms if ObamaCare implodes. To borrow a phrase from a now-famous newsman: Keep f***ing that chicken, nutroots.

C.P., That bulletin board would be a GREAT idea however, I think the sting of the infamous “overnight” thread, which prompted Ed’s “I’m warning you…” thread, is still too fresh. Not to mention that there’s too much that HotAir’s “powers that be” don’t want to discuss. That’s why I stopped using HA as a primary news source a long time ago. There will be no reaction and no polling before the bill is passed because the whole “putting legislation on the internet” would unnecessarily delay taking action on this bill that will saving us from falling into a health care abyss. Why even the Congress critters will vote on it sight unseen – because time is of the essence,the bill was finished being drafted at 3:23 a.m., and the guy down the hall from Nancy will actually have a full copy you can read in his office (but not keep) at a later date. See? No opposition because all the problems were handled in debate and compromise earlier in the year…Next!

There will be no big socilized medicing bill, it is going down, so i want these guys to promise that if we hand republicans a majority again that they will promise to reuce healh insurance costs by no less than 25% over the next five years. I want them to promise they will allow no cap and trade legislation to pass that will add any additional costs to American citizens. If they win majorities I want them to promise to creat independent panels to investigate the ties between ACORN and every politician, and also the SEIU and every politician.

There is no bill yet, they are still voting on the amendments. The Republicans want the final bill to be available to the public for a minimum of 72 hours before they vote on it, the Dems voted No. Also, the Republicans want a CBO report on the cost of the final bill, the Dems voted No because that would take an additional 2 weeks, and everyone knows that the Republicans are only stalling with these outlandish demands. I can’t wait until 2010, if one of my own kids were running as a Dem, I would still vote straight Republican.
