Quotes of the day

posted at 10:45 pm on September 23, 2009 by Allahpundit

“It was all extremely naïve. The president did everything he could to say: ‘Can’t we all just get along?’”

***
“With Bush, everyone in the world was, just a little bit beneath the surface, a freedom-loving democrat. With Obama, everyone is a peace-loving multilateralist. ‘The yearning for peace is universal,’ Obama said. Of course, so is the yearning for war, or it wouldn’t be endemic to human existence.”

***
“President Obama said during his speech today: ‘For those who question the character and cause of my nation, I ask you to look at the concrete actions we have taken in just nine months.’

So the goodness of America is found in the Obama administration?”

LOL. Anyone else catch Hannity’s radio show today? He’s been frustrating the heck out of me lately, so I haven’t been listening as much as usual, but I’m glad I caught it today: he played a FANTASTIC soundbyte that compiled all of Obama’s references to himself in his speech. It went on for at least two or three straight minutes, tightly edited. Hilarious. I distinctly remember being taught NOT to overuse I, me, and my in persuasive speech and writing. TOO FUNNY.

…just nine months… just NINE months!

Let’s look at all of the threats and assaults to liberty, freedom and individualism you’ve made in “just nine months.” First and foremost, you sat on your uncalloused hands while Iranians died at the hands of their own government. Moreover, you supported the thuggish actions of not one, but four Latin American and Cuban dictators–Zelaya, Chavez and the Castro Bros. You’ve moved toward socializing car companies, banks and the coup de grace’ — our health care system is in your sights.

Yeah, let’s look at your first nine months champ– that’s a pile we’re ready to take and rub your nose in.

and i failed to mention ACORN and NEA

oh yeah, Van Jones… Oh and BLAGO–Hell, I can’t even hit submit without coming up with something better for your first nine months jack.

Don’t forget all the torpedoes Osama Obama has fired into the economy, rushing us headlong into a depression that bids fair to make the 1930s look like a time of prosperity;

Don’t forget his turning the Justice Department over to a selectively-prosecuting incompetent;

Don’t forget his thuggish reaction to anyone who dares disagree with the stone tablets he has brought down from the mountain. Humana is only one example;

Don’t forget….

Yeah, the Chicago Jesus has done a lot in nine months. Another year, and the destruction of the nation, its laws and Constitution will be complete.

I quote the late great H.L. Mencken in summarizing B.O.’s joke of a U.N. speech today. Nothing could say it better than this:

It reminds me of a string of wet sponges; it reminds me of tattered washing on the line; it reminds me of stale bean soup, of college yells, of dogs barking idiotically through endless nights. It is so bad that a sort of grandeur creeps into it. It drags itself out of the dark abysm of pish, and crawls insanely up to the topmost pinnacle of posh. It is rumble and bumble. It is flap and doodle. It is balder and dash.

TheBigOldDog on September 23, 2009 at 11:08 PM

The Strange Case of Professor Obama and Herr Hussein is a real life drama playing out in the aftermath of the Presidential election of 2008. It is about the dilemma of the American citizen who sees strange dissonances between the new found Messiah, Professor Obama, and the ever more emerging misanthropic, pyromaniac (reference note #1) Herr Hussein. It is a vivid portrayal of a split personality, split in the sense that within the same person there is, or was, both an apparently good and an ever more emerging evil personality each being quite distinct from the other. In mainstream culture the very phrase “Obama and Hussien” will come to mean a person who’s words are vastly different in moral character from his actions.

Reference note #1: Such individuals who lack ulterior motive have traditionally been referred to in layman’s terms simply as a variation of a pyromaniac. Most such maniacs lack conscious motivation although they are fully aware of the acts they are failing to stop or they themselves are committing. Typically they will feel intense pleasure, gratification, or relief when causing destruction or when witnessing or participating in the aftermath. Motivation is also classified as pathological and non-pathological. Some research suggests that feeling such joy at horrific situation is pathological. Other research suggests that some motivation for this comes from rational thought. Taking joy in horrific situations for envisioned gains in political power and/or the concealment of the imposition of devious plans are examples of supposed rational decision making.
