Video: Obama’s credibility is leaking, not “precious bodily fluids”

posted at 1:37 pm on September 22, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Actually, the latter is more Pete Stark’s thing than Barack Obama’s, but Chris Matthews must be running out of analogies to keep the thrill running up his leg these days. Matthews held a roundtable with Howard Fineman of Newsweek and Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post — who had his own skepticism about the ObamaCare proposals and their cost-reduction measures — about why Obama’s “mojo” seems to be on the fritz. Their conclusion? It must be … Afghanistan:

It’s not often you see this amount of willful cluelessness on prime-time television … well, outside of MS-NBC, anyway. Perhaps Robinson and Co. can play us video clips of all those town-hall debates and protests over the Afghanistan war, or all of the national debate that took place over it this summer.  Did a million Americans march on Washington DC ten days ago to protest our war policy?  Or was it to protest the radical big-government agenda of the Democrats in power?

Why is the media blitz not working for Obama?  It has nothing to do with “precious bodily fluids,” a rather creepy issue for Matthews to fixate on, and everything to do with credibility.  Americans have been rejecting Obama’s arguments for months, and Obama has yet to make any new ones.  Every time Obama appears on TV to deliver the same tired arguments that they’ve already rejected, the more he looks like an empty suit to Americans.  (via Jim at Radio Vice Online)

Chris and company are bearing witness to Obama’s third abandonment. His dad left him, his mom left him, now the American people are leaving him. Sounds like a pattern. Could someone find some of his relatives and ask them if, while a kid, that Obama was fixated on lying and talking too damn much?

WisCon on September 22, 2009 at 1:44 PM

Why is the media blitz not working for Obama?

Working hard and getting the job done are two different things. Constant air time with the same old message isn’t getting the job done. In fact, it undermines whatever shreds of credibility that are left. If he were to declare war on Poland tomorrow, nobody would believe it until he had hit twenty talk shows, had a joint session with Congress, and a couple of town halls.

I think people are starting to see BO is not running the country. I mean how could he, he’s always on TV. He’s flying here and flying there pushing something the people don’t want, we all are beginning to wonder who’s in charge.
He says the health care thing is his plan, but which one, there are 5 or 6 of them out there. He never had credibility to begin with so he never lost it, just hid it.

He has yet to make an argument.

He can’t argue for this turkey, which is why he refused to go mano-a-mano with the fearsome Chris MAtthews on FNC Sunday.

How long can they delude themselves so blatantly– so dementedly– without slipping into schizophrenia? This is becoming a George Romero zombie movie where the Left lose consciousness and aimlessly wander the Beltway and Manhattan. They’ve already sold their souls. What’s left?

Every time Obama appears on TV to deliver the same tired arguments that they’ve already rejected, the more he looks like an empty suit to Americans.

Beautiful suit, with nothing in it, indeed. All one has to see is the exchange with George Stephanopolous, and the blatant idiotic lies of Obama

“I don’t pay that much attention to ACORN” – you lie

“Not the most improtant item in America today” – you lie – corruption of potentially billions of dollars in your pet doggie house and you…

His smugness, the ease with which he lies is the most insulting attribute to the American middle class, which is scromed from all ends. This will destroy Obama and his, the total disregard toward the honest and hard-working while only one thing matters “it’s the economy, stupid”.

Chris Matthews stated his “mission” was to see that “this administration is a success.” His depression must be that if Obama fails, he fails. A regular newsman wouldn’t feel that way, as his job would be to just report: news.

I have to admit, I at least thought that Obama’s arguments would be better than they’ve been lately. A fine is not a tax, he’s unaware of federal funding of ACORN, I don’t smoke cigarrettes, they smoke me, etc. I’m afraid that we may not be approaching the “blue dress” moment (metaphorically, of course) when even the Chrissy’s of the world conclude that maybe BO really isn’t who they thought he was.

Go figure. The arugula-eating surrender monkey projects weakness on the war in Afghanistan after shit-canning our nukes, scrapping missile defense and his world apology tour, highlights of which were bowing to the Saudi king, sending a special Ramadan message, boasting that we are a Muslim nation and praising the hijab worn by all Muslim women except the ones protesting Iran’s mullahs.

Probably not, but I bet Obama-child was one of those bratty kids that argue incessantly…I think of it as a “little F. Lee Bailey” kid, who won’t take no for an answer.

You all have known this type kid..the one who learns that if he just keeps up the endless loop of relentless blather, broken-record argue their parents (or g-parents) into submission, someone will just give up and let the little Oba-monster have his own way.

From the election of 04 till the beginning of 08 George Bush came before the American people with the same routine about Iraq and why it wasn’t working better. It wasn’t until he cast his fate to the wind and backed the surge that things began to happen. Obama hasn’t made a new proposal, suggestion, or even a comment about health care in seven months. Other than changing care to insurance he is tired , stale, and unmoving. He needs a surge, something entirely different, but his ideology and that of his fellow Dems precludes that possibility.
