Video: Barney Frank, keepin’ it classy
posted at 8:20 pm on September 22, 2009 by Allahpundit
A rare case of a talk-show guest having obviously written his own material, for the simple reason that Leno’s just not this nasty. You’ll know it when you hear it.

In all fairness, Rush is brutal to Frank on a regular basis on his program.
toliver on September 22, 2009 at 8:23 PM
Wow a Rush pain killer joke….never heard that before

Gotta luv Barney, when he’s frank…!
Right on!
Right on!
Right on!
and on…
Geezer on September 22, 2009 at 8:24 PM
In fairness
One is a private citizen who happens to be an entertainer/talk show host and the other is a Congressman.
CWforFreedom on September 22, 2009 at 8:24 PM
Funny. I didn’t realize he had much wit.
AnninCA on September 22, 2009 at 8:25 PM
Being in the majority does not become Barney. He used to be fun to hear and watch. Now he’s just another liberal a-hole.
rockmom on September 22, 2009 at 8:25 PM
Can’t wait for the Rush comeback when he appears on Leno this Thursday!
cubachi on September 22, 2009 at 8:26 PM
Leno’s no angel. He spent over a week telling Bristol Palin jokes when her engagement was called off, and he still appears to be making occasional “George W. Bush is an idiot” jokes, even though Bush isn’t in the news.
malclave on September 22, 2009 at 8:27 PM
At least Rush has lost some weight.
Oooh…
Emily M. on September 22, 2009 at 8:27 PM
I take it that was sarcasm. If not you are not very schooled when it comes to current events, wit, or humor.
CWforFreedom on September 22, 2009 at 8:27 PM
Did they joke about his speech impediments?
jgapinoy on September 22, 2009 at 8:28 PM
Seems our Congressmen should have more class. He was just an ass.
CWforFreedom on September 22, 2009 at 8:28 PM
Nasty is a RINO code word for “awesome”.
DaveS on September 22, 2009 at 8:29 PM
Bawney, Bawney, Bawney…
You’re still biter after all we’ve been through?

In fairness

CWforFreedom on September 22, 2009 at 8:24 PM
Oh, come now. How many “entertainer/talk show hosts” do YOU know that the rank-and-file GOP elected officials must bow and scrape and apologize to every time they step slightly out of line?
Hmm?

What are you talking about? Silliness
CWforFreedom on September 22, 2009 at 8:31 PM
Rush Limbaugh: Private citizen, entertainer, commentator.
Barney Frank: Member, US House of Representatives; Chairman, House Financial Services Committee.
amerpundit on September 22, 2009 at 8:32 PM
Interesting,Barney Frank doing straight up stand-up
comedy!

Let me be clear: Obama can’t control his own party. Just two days ago, on sunday news shows, Obama was speaking about all the rudeness. What I heard from Barney is, I don’t have to listen to that “boy” president….
TN Mom on September 22, 2009 at 8:33 PM
Are we talking about Rush Limbaugh’s drug use or Barack Obama’s drug use and continued addiction to tobacco? Oh, right, the latter’s is off limits while the former’s is just dandy to mock.
amerpundit on September 22, 2009 at 8:33 PM
In all fairness, Rush is brutal to Frank on a regular basis on his program.

canopfor on September 22, 2009 at 8:35 PM
Just fyi, Rush did respond to this today. He played the bite and then said, “I wasn’t going to play this– I was going to turn the other cheek, but that’s what Barney would want.”

Barney was hilarioius! Who knew he was so funny and had such comedic timing (even if it was unintentional– which actually made it funnier!). He got some great zingers in there!
dcwvu on September 22, 2009 at 8:35 PM
It’s part of Obamas good tyrant bad tyrant method.
the_nile on September 22, 2009 at 8:36 PM
Rush said today on his show his first inclination was to ignore it, but then he realized that Frank probably wanted him to turn the other cheek. Heh.
I’m sure Rush will have something good on Thursday night when he graces Leno’s presence.
WolkingsWorld.com on September 22, 2009 at 8:36 PM
Public officials are held to different standards than private citizens in some arenas, but is “making cruel jokes” one of those arenas? Why? Why is it important for a Congressman to be civil but not important for a talk show host to be civil?
Most arguments I can think for being civil (being a role model, raising the level of debate, being a nice person in general, etc.) apply to both politicians and talk show hosts.
tneloms on September 22, 2009 at 8:37 PM
Just imagine if a Republican congressman did what Frank did. It would be roundly condemned by the left and media for being unprofessional and disgusting. The Republican would be facing censure.

You’re one of he’s boy’s right.

ginaswo on September 22, 2009 at 8:41 PM
Considering that Joe Wilson was actually and officially condemned by the House of Representatives for simply calling Obama a liar? Yes.
Talk show hosts are employed to make such criticisms, even if they’re not classy. Members of Congress are elected representatives of the American people and are paid to legislate.
Let’s remember that members of Congress also have special legal privileges. Try arresting a member of Congress on the way to or from a session of Congress. So yes, we can hold them to a higher standard.

Careful DCWVU enough people gang up on you and you will have DAVE.S sniffing your arse for days.

Cool, Rush drug jokes. What’s this, 2003 all over again?
JammieWearingFool on September 22, 2009 at 8:46 PM
Gotta love lib trolls! Personally I find it quite hilarious that they worship a guy who mainlines cocaine, or at least did, and they have nooooo problems with that–but laugh at Rush.
But then, liberal trolls like child sex rings as well, based on their support of ACORN.
Vanceone on September 22, 2009 at 8:46 PM
That didn’t happen on Jay Leno’s show moron, it happened during a joint session of Congress. Do you know the difference or do you need me to spell it out to you?
crr6 on September 22, 2009 at 8:46 PM
Actually, January 1977 through January 1981 called and DOESN’T want its president back.
amerpundit on September 22, 2009 at 8:47 PM
Ouch. That’s a weak comedic(?) comeback. You probably even chuckled to yourself over it. Painful.

The 1930s called and they want their German citizen back.

DCWVU btw I have known lots of cool gays . You are not one of em. You are just an azzhole

I really hope that Leno doesn’t think that having Barney Frank on his show is going to boost his ratings…

JammieWearinFool:Yup,the darkside dejavu!!Ugh!:)
canopfor on September 22, 2009 at 8:48 PM
Yeah, and:
was such a strong, original comeback.
You know what also happened during a session of Congress? Multiple Democrats heckling Bush a few years back. I don’t recall the left having a problem with that.
amerpundit on September 22, 2009 at 8:49 PM
The difference is that both instances should have been relegated to a late-night comedy show. Apparently, though, we’ve come to the point where calling the president a liar is now something that needs to be nationally disapproved of, using taxpayer dollars. Funny how that never happened in the last eight years when the president was called a liar.
MadisonConservative on September 22, 2009 at 8:49 PM

You really aren’t one to talk. The entire bit is ancient. At least others here modified it a bit.
Esthier on September 22, 2009 at 8:51 PM
Don’t you remember? he was completely unaware of it.
TheVer on September 22, 2009 at 8:51 PM
Leno: Number 12. How would you like to spend your time?
A) pimping your boy friend form your home
B) pimping your boy friend from the Capital
C) pimping your boy friend from the WH
Frank: Wow, it really doesn’t matter I just like pimping.
jbh45 on September 22, 2009 at 8:51 PM
You know, Dr. Drew says male homosexuals do not engage in anal sex nearly as much as we cringe/dread/fear/imagine.
Most assuredly Barney Frank is a colossal jocksucker.
Stephen M on September 22, 2009 at 8:52 PM
Sorry if already posted but Leno at the bottom of ratings.
Pun intended.
From first to last in less than a week. bawney will not be back.
jukin on September 22, 2009 at 8:52 PM
Actually, I wasn’t a big fan of Ford and his decision to pardon Nixon. So that would’ve worked for me anyway.
But I corrected myself in my next comment down.
amerpundit on September 22, 2009 at 8:52 PM

Guardian on September 22, 2009 at 8:53 PM
Ha. Don’t judge him. Not everyone gets into those fancy 4-year colleges.
dcwvu on September 22, 2009 at 8:54 PM
Obviously, he was thinking of the election, not when Carter actually took office.
But if he’d gone to a “fancy 4-year college” do you think he’d be able to tell us where all the 57 states are?
Esthier on September 22, 2009 at 8:56 PM
Someone of your diminutive intelligence would be rejected by a correspondence course.
MadisonConservative on September 22, 2009 at 8:57 PM
I attended college, thank you very much. But I’m not a liberal Democrat, so I’m actually capable of making mistakes and admitting them. You know, rather than just pushing them off onto someone else and flip-flopping on the issue.
Want to get all snide and condescending about education? You can start with the comment sections at DKos or Huffington Post, or with your fellow liberal commenters here (liberal343, for example) who regularly leave off punctuation marks.
Or, better yet, you can talk to your genius president who apparently thinks we have 57 states and Americans liberated Auschwitz.
amerpundit on September 22, 2009 at 8:57 PM
That’s alright. Gently correcting mistakes like that is a reason we’re here.
crr6 on September 22, 2009 at 8:57 PM
So which school are you insulting? University of Michigan or Yale Law?
malclave on September 22, 2009 at 8:57 PM
Because they are elected representatives of the people, not entertainers.
ProfessorMiao on September 22, 2009 at 8:57 PM
Bawney seems to be fantasizing about the pain he’d cause Limbaugh. I’m glad his mental imagery wasn’t broadcast.
theCork on September 22, 2009 at 8:59 PM
You insulted the intelligence of Barack Obama when he promised to meet with the “president” of Canada, right? Or when he claimed to have visited 57 states? Or claimed his uncle liberated Auschwitz?
amerpundit on September 22, 2009 at 8:59 PM
Yeah Rush would bring the painkillers and Frank would bring the male prostitutes who are probably all drugged up anyway.
Jerk.
therightscoop on September 22, 2009 at 9:00 PM
AS the prof noted there is a difference. In fact it is a big difference. I will assume at the very least you agree Barney should not have gone there.
CWforFreedom on September 22, 2009 at 9:00 PM

Amer- I know it is fun…but why do we bother with these hypocritical idiots?
CWforFreedom on September 22, 2009 at 9:02 PM
No, no, silly…those were rhetorical flourishes. That’s what Obama makes, when liberals would otherwise call it a “boneheaded knuckle-dragging idiocy” out of the mouth of a conservative, or blue dog.
MadisonConservative on September 22, 2009 at 9:02 PM
Where in this thread did I insult your intelligence? Relax. I’m here to help.
crr6 on September 22, 2009 at 9:02 PM
That’s true and important. We should also note that Rush never took part in pumping up the real estate bubble in the name of “affordable housing”. Rush never slept with an executive of Fannie Mae while he had power to regulate said concern.
I can’t stand Frank, but after all the crap he’s taken from Rush, I don’t blame him for firing back with a cheap shot.
toliver on September 22, 2009 at 9:02 PM
It’s like practicing on a punching bag. You always need to keep up your training.
MadisonConservative on September 22, 2009 at 9:02 PM
Exactly! about as unaware as Obama is about ACORN. Poor things don’t bother them with little details.
elduende on September 22, 2009 at 9:03 PM
Especially since it was born out of an actual physical ailment and not some crazed desire to party.
CWforFreedom on September 22, 2009 at 9:03 PM
So he gives up the little self respect he has left for a cheap tired shot?
CWforFreedom on September 22, 2009 at 9:04 PM
No doubt he got all the how-to info he needed from Obamas’ ACORN.
theTarCzar on September 22, 2009 at 9:05 PM
By acting as if you need to correct me and you’re doing a public service with a snarky attitude. That’s insulting my intelligence, you condescending jackass.
Barack Obama makes up basic facts about geopolitics, history, and geography and the lefties here make excuses. I’m off by one year and then immediately correct myself and the lefties are acting like they’re clones of Stephan Hawking.
