Video: Barney Frank, keepin’ it classy

posted at 8:20 pm on September 22, 2009 by Allahpundit

A rare case of a talk-show guest having obviously written his own material, for the simple reason that Leno’s just not this nasty. You’ll know it when you hear it.

Blowback

In all fairness, Rush is brutal to Frank on a regular basis on his program.

toliver on September 22, 2009 at 8:23 PM

Yep. I love Rush, but he’s gotta take it if he’s gonna dish it out, and he doesn’t hold back with Barney Frank.

IU_Conservative on September 22, 2009 at 11:32 PM

That he so joyfully ragged on the red-faced screaming white people at the KKK townhall meetings.

dcwvu on September 22, 2009 at 10:32 PM

So you don’t know.

Jim Treacher on September 22, 2009 at 11:37 PM

IU_Conservative on September 22, 2009 at 11:32 PM

Barney Frank has some skeletons in his closet. Like obstructing more oversight of Fanny and Freddy. He is instrumental in more regulation in our lives and will usher in socialism like wave.

So he deserves the pounding…Uh, made fun of I mean.

dcwvu on September 22, 2009 at 10:27 PM

I rarely find myself at this point, but I do wonder just how much you have to avoid people in real life just to avert the eventuality of you getting knocked the f*** out.

MadisonConservative on September 22, 2009 at 11:53 PM

Rush has no problem taking it. He just gets to air it and laugh. But the simple truth is that Barney Frank should be in jail for his part in causing this economic meltdown by forcing the banks to loan to people they knew could not pay it back. Frank accepts no responsibility.

Christian Conservative on September 22, 2009 at 11:54 PM

At least Rush has lost some weight.
Oooh…

Emily M. on September 22, 2009 at 8:27 P

Drug abuse will do that.

bschmalfeldt on September 22, 2009 at 8:31 PM

He has been on a diet you idiot. What a jerk.

Susanboo on September 23, 2009 at 12:25 AM

I’m soory, who is Wush Wimbaugh?

Ronnie on September 22, 2009 at 9:12 PM

“Wewease, wodewick!”

Fighton03 on September 23, 2009 at 12:29 AM

Bawney, Bawney, Bawney…
You’re still biter after all we’ve been through?

CBarker on September 22, 2009 at 8:30 PM

Of course he’s a pillow ‘biter’.

Fighton03 on September 23, 2009 at 12:32 AM

Boy, did he. Since making fun of Mrs. Trailer Park his ratings have skyrocketed, and he has beat Conan consistently since. Last night his ratings with President Obama were 195% higher than Conan’s. Looks like America loves people who hate Palin. I sincerely hope he keeps it up. Considering the source material, he’ll have plenty to mock for years.

dcwvu on September 22, 2009 at 9:58 PM

Wow, I repeat myself, you are really a jerk. Trolls were out in droves earlier!

Susanboo on September 23, 2009 at 12:51 AM

can’t.
watch.
because.
I.
live in UK.

Damn.

But, silver lining, I don’t have to hear the Banking Queen talk.

Black Adam on September 23, 2009 at 2:51 AM

There’s a blurring of the lines happening on TV lately that I don’t care much for.

It’s one thing when the President invites himself on your show. You’re pretty much obliged to have him on. But to see congress-folk and cabinet appointees show up on an Entertainment show, there’s just too much dogma being pushed to make it palatable.

(Yeah, the entertainers themselves shovel the dogma. That’s how, “I am equal time,” was born.)

The morning news shows have gotten away with interviewing entertainers for years and I know if I was an anchor I’d prefer to do those spots over the dry political junk.

As a producer, yeah, take a break from the sad stories and lighten things up. And who wants to start the day crying, anyway? Fine. I get it. But it’s not a two-way street.

David, Jay, and the rest of you. If your paycheck says “— Entertainment” at the top, please stick with the entertainers. Thank you.

P.S. Sportscasters, that goes for you, too. Paycheck. “— Sports.” No politicians. Thanks again.

DuffBeer on September 23, 2009 at 4:25 AM

NBC…Jay Leno…NBC…Barney Frank. Another reason to shut the TV off at 10p.m. Pacific. Late night TV? I’ll take Red Eye.

Driefromseattle on September 23, 2009 at 4:47 AM

Barney Frank — a man that had his teeth surgically removed on PURPOSE!!!!

Frances on September 23, 2009 at 5:42 AM

I take great offense to that term. Not due to the sexual connotation but that it links me with the racist rednecks who are scared of Muslims. I would need to take a few years to grow a mullet and/or beer belly to be formally invited to march with them.

dcwvu on September 22, 2009 at 10:27 PM

Taking a bath would help as well, Lefty Scum.

I’ve seen your marches.

OR:

We Republicans need the “racist-redneck-islamaphobia-mullet” vote to cancel out the Democrats “ignorant-racist-I-voted-for-him-cuz-he’s-black” vote.

IU_Conservative on September 22, 2009 at 11:32 PM

As I stated earlier….Rush likely made a million extra bucks to to Barney’s rant. This is more about respecting the honored position he holds at the calling of Americans.

Every time I listen to that despicable human being I wonder just what the hell is in the water in MA. It is mind boggling that they reelect a cretinous cadre of criminals every year.

The same river of LSD-laced unicorn Skittle juice that’s been flowing through NYC and San Fran for the past 50 years. The secret formula was brewed somewhere in Russia.

J.J. Sefton on September 23, 2009 at 7:01 AM

This was pretty mild, if that’s all it was. Reid or Murtha would of been nastier.

Absolutely. And Rush does a great job talking about what an awful politician Frank is. But I wish he’d ease up a bit on irrelevant stuff, like Frank’s sexuality. I don’t have a problem with some of it, when it’s good satire (e.g. Banking Queen), but some of this stuff about living in Uranus and cramdown law is immature and unnecessary. It makes Rush sound like a bigot, even though he’s not (I’m a paid Rush 24/7 subscriber). Yeah, the jokes about Rush being a drug addict are childish and unfair, but so is making such embarrassing and nasty jokes about trait that has nothing to do with Frank’s competence as a legislator. Frank isn’t dangerous because he’s gay, he’s dangerous because he’s power-hungry and corrupt. Constant jokes about his homosexuality detract from the legitimate criticisms about him.

IU_Conservative on September 23, 2009 at 8:07 AM

Rush can stand the heat.
No matter what, you will find
Rush in the Kitchen.

Haiku Guy on September 23, 2009 at 8:24 AM

Frank displays sheer arrogance and is a poster boy for those that think their same sex escapades include an Affirmative Action bonus. He is truly a dangerous man, and is clearly suffering from the lack of discerning his purpose on the planet. The question that continues to ring out is how do these freaks get elected?

Hening on September 23, 2009 at 8:41 AM

At the risk of making quite a few of you angry, but I have to comment on this. This site must be devolving. You have several of your regular commenters that are banned for admittedly making jokes at a sensitive time, but kept a house full of trolls? I know you will say that you dont want to ban trolls so you wont have an “echo chamber.” OK, I get that, but somehow troll thread jacking is better? How exactly? These comments are offensive.

BTW, I was addicted to prescription pain killers for yrs and nearly died, so I may be a little sensitive. I have a hard time accepting that this is funny.

Sorry to butt in, as you were.

di butler on September 23, 2009 at 9:03 AM

Barney Frank just played the straight man in a two-man act for the first time in his adult life. Strange days, indeed.

alliebobbitt on September 23, 2009 at 9:22 AM

I say the gay jokes about Barney Frank are acceptable since he isn’t your normal, law abiding gay. This man ran a prostitution ring from him basement and never suffered any consequences for it. That makes it different.

Homosexuality is a beautiful thing, unless a Republican is involved.

alliebobbitt on September 23, 2009 at 9:36 AM

The good thing about Bawney Fwanks sexuality is that he didn’t reproduce.

PappaMac on September 23, 2009 at 9:39 AM

I believe Leno wrote this joke.

Blake on September 23, 2009 at 9:41 AM

Gotta love lib trolls! Personally I find it quite hilarious that they worship a guy who mainlines cocaine, or at least did, and they have nooooo problems with that–but laugh at Rush.

But then, liberal trolls like child sex rings as well, based on their support of ACORN.

Vanceone on September 22, 2009 at 8:46 PM

The reason why it’s funny is that you conservatives are so uptight and righteous to an inhuman degree that the hypocrisy when one of these scumbags get caught is delicious. No one, except people who find pleasure in judging and condemning people, care what someone does in the private lives unless it affects others. People like rush can take drugs until they die for all I care however the right wing ideology of riding around on its highhorse needs to be called out

Barney Frank has some skeletons in his closet…..

and they’ve all been violated from behind.

SJBill on September 23, 2009 at 11:40 AM

Barney Frank making jokes on the Jay Leno show. Is this what passes for entertainment on network televsion now days? Maybe that is the joke…

Another reason I’m glad I have cable.

JohnBG on September 23, 2009 at 12:16 PM

Norvell on September 23, 2009 at 9:52 AM

No, the reason you find it funny is because it’s someone who disagrees with you politically, rather than actually being funny. Trust me, I have a wicked sense of humor, but some things just aren’t funny.

How is it that libs revel in someone simply physically hooked on pain meds after back surgery, but support someone who consciously snorted coke? You do understand the difference, no? Well, maybe not…

As someone who’s had back problems for 9 years, including 2 surgeries, I recognize medical addiction for what it is (and have spent years avoiding these meds because of the persception, despite the need for them & the pain I’ve had to endure without them).

But it’s not the kind of addiction you assume it is…it’s purely physical dependency, and not psychological at all (unlike our understanding of addictions to, say, cocaine).

But then, if you could makes these distinctions, you wouldn’t be “so open-minded your brains fell out.”
