Video: And now, an important message from celebrities on ObamaCare

posted at 4:10 pm on September 22, 2009 by Allahpundit

People I recognized in this video: Ferrell, the schmuck from “Mad Men,” and, tragically, Tom Lennon and Ben Garant of the late, great “Reno 911!” Thank goodness in hindsight that it was canceled this summer; the thought of having to boycott it over these two cutting an ad for one of the filthiest, most unprincipled left-wing PACs in Washington fills me with sadness.

As always with these spot-the-celebrity political spots, it’s boring and three times longer than it needs to be simply in order to accommodate everyone involved with sufficient camera time. Not one in 10 of you will make it all the way through, but as an incentive to get you to try, you’ll discover that (a) apparently 80 percent of America is gung ho for the public option, which is news to me and to the dozens of Blue Dogs terrified of what’ll happen to them next year if they vote for this sinkhole, and (b) people who make millions churning out one unwatchable piece of bilge after another inexplicably feel no shame in accusing insurance executives of being overpaid. Happy viewing.

Update (Ed): Here’s Will Farrell’s pay from a few of his movies, courtesy of IMDB:

Salary

  • Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006): $20,000,000
  • Bewitched (2005): $20,000,000
  • Kicking & Screaming (2005): $20,000,000
  • Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004): $7,000,000

No one who pocketed $20 million for any movie, let alone Bewitched and Talladega Nights, has any room to talk about overpaid execs.

Out here in Los Angeles, there is a special place aging actors go to for assisted-living, hospice, and rehabilitation. Most of them are characer actors fr days gone by that you wouldn’t know, others were high-profile at one time. Its called the Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital. Its going broke. All the filthy rich a–holes in Hollywood, and the place is going broke. Nothing but selfish, self-centered, egotistical bast@rds. Click the link to read the whole story.

Insurance companies make too much profit but actors don’t?
Insurance company CEO’s live exotic lifestyles but celebrities don’t?
Insurance companies do not provide a good enough service for their fees but actors do?
Insurances companies are dishonest but actors always tell the truth?
Insurance companies can’t be trusted, but celebrities can?
Which would you trust more to watch your 13 year old daughter at night? An insurance company executive or an actor?
Which organization has probably brought more smut, dirt and ruin to American lives? Hollywood or the insurance industry?

•Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006): Lame
•Bewitched (2005): Completly butchered a classic TV show
•Kicking & Screaming (2005): Sucked
•Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004): Only funny because it was so stupid.

Simply put Will Farrell is only funny IMO when he is playing bit parts in other peoples movies.

Look at us! How could these political pundits say we aren’t a big tent party? I mean, we’ve got Bama fans, Auburn fans, and MSU fans uniting under one cause here. If that isn’t big tent, then I don’t know what is. Heck, we’d even accept the heathens from the ACC, Big 12, and select Big 10 schools as well. Maybe Louisville and Cincy out of the Big East. Forget about the Pac-1

In reality, very well said, JellyToast. These people make me sick.

Also, it feels really great to know that when I’m sitting in a waiting room built for 100 people that is now filled with 250 people spilling out into to the hallway, all waiting to hear what limited government resources will be allocated to their cancer operation by the health care DMV, it’s extra fulfilling to know that every one of those grocery-store-magazine, celebrity motherf—ers will be avoiding the lines and getting the highest quality private health care while patting themselves on the back about what they did for “the little people” with their ego maniacal vanity video.

God, I loathe Hollywood.

Sure, Will Farrell can talk. He will be able to hire the world’s best doctors for himself and fly anywhere on the globe to go get extended care from them.

Upon passage of the public option, the best doctors in the world will leave the U.S. and go abroad anyway, where only the very rich, such as Will Farrell will be able to access or afford them.

The star system in Hollywood is at present dead in the water. Karma is sweet.

I never found Will Farrell funny, and always found him slightly physically repulsive. Also, his movies suck.

I’m not hitting the link to hear him whine about how much money other people make, and/or how I should do with less than my small amount.

LEBA on September 22, 2009 at 7:57 PM

What’s so American about competition? They said that with a straight face when referencing the public option?

First, many insurance companies are non-profit. Second, Gov’t already strangles competition by forcing you to purchase state specific plans. Second, if it were really about competition, let the States compete with the Federal Gov’t. And let the voters decide. If they can get 3/4 of the states to ratify. Then I know which 1/4 of the states to live in and GTFO of Obamaland.

James on September 22, 2009 at 8:00 PM

Just think … if insurance companies stopped insuring films we wouldn’t be cursed with the deluge of crappy movies … evil insurance companies!

No person in Hollywood makes me more angry and sick to my stomach than Will Ferrill. Sean Penn, George Clooney, Bill Maher, and the vast majority of the rest of Hollywood are despicable, idiotic traitors, but many of them can at least point to a minor artistic accomplishment here or there. Will Ferrill may well be the most untalented Hollywood a$$$ole to ever become a celebrity.

If Will Ferrill can make it in America, any one can. What a despicable human being he is.

You’d think that these morons would keep their mouths shut and not offend a good portion of their fans for potential fans. But no, their egos are so large they can’t help themselves.
