Why the hell are the Republicans so timid in response to such gross abuses of power like Gov’t takeover of whole industries, the theft of property(Chyrs. shareholders), letting whole regions lie fallow (CA), betrayal of allies right and left, the list of greivences could go on & on.

The 9/12 march was impressive, but in light of events taking place and the implications they portend, why are people not more cognizant of where we are heading and not screaming bloody murder?

I am at a loss, I just do not understand the complacent mind-set of those all around me.

If the evil ChimpHitler was still in office, this is all we would be hearing today, not just from the nutroots but from network TV news and national daily newspapers, who would have no trouble finding someone at a “non-partisan thinktank” to be quoted as openly questioning the timing of this.

Unfortunately, that wake up call my be b ein more ways than one, can anyone think of a greater justification for implenting the inumerable draconian measures put in place by bush by executive orders? Obama has not counter-manded any of these, just as he also embraced warrantless wire-taps after saying he would filibuster them.

A terrorist attack and/or threat there of is prooly the ideal scenario to implement thew trappings of a police-state, i.e. a state-of-emergency.

I was greatly concerned when Bush was signing all these executive orders, not because I thought Bush had totalitarian designs, but because once in place are ripe fo abuse by all that follow his tenure.

Can anyone deny with a straight face, that despite all statements to the contrary, Obama seems to relish all opportunities to expand the scope of government? Is not that an expansion of control? Does he exhibit any narcissistic tendencies common to authoritarians? Has he shown any reluctance to over-reaching his proscribed constitutional powers? Do you have any confidence that he sees any limitation of his own wisdom that he knows best, despite any misgivings by the public otherwise? Should he in the heat of the moment go to far in reaction to events, appointed anyone less radical than he that might restrain his reaction? Has he shown any prediliction to consolidation of power, to the detriment of our system of checks and balances?

These are scary questions, worse, I bet your answers to those questions are scrarier.

The resultant consequences of a terrorist attack in this enviroment, is almost more fearsome than the attack’s actual effects.

I haven’t heard anyone comment on the fact that during the Bush Admin., they commented pretty vaguely that they were uncovering terror plots on a fairly regular basis. In fact, the MSM used to berate Cheney for such comments all the time. But, we never, ever got the details. And, for good reason. But this gob’ment is so naive they spill an awful lot of beans (details) in order to basically crow about how Bambi is catchin’ da bad guys.
When it comes to these matters, the less said the better. I’m not sure this is that much out of the ordinary (VERY scary fact in and of itself).
I may very well be wrong, in fact I hope I am that this is in fact NOT the first time since 9/11 that they have uncovered a plot of this scale…it’s just the first time we’ve heard details.

FBI agents believe an active terror cell directed by al Qaeda was preparing an attack on New York City, and authorities say they have yet to identify everyone involved.

Cagey work by the FBI/CIA/Obama Administration. Leave open the likelihood that there are others so they can justify their inevitable use of waterboarding or other enhanced interrogation techniques against Zazi under the “ticking time bomb” rationalization of torture.

That’s what I would have done, too. Bleed him for all you can get, then give him the firing squad — after a glossy show trial to make the other lefties happy.

The ones who need the wake up call won’t wake up until there is a successful hit on our soil. It is sad but true most people just don’t want to be engaged or informed.

Two words: “I Won.” The filthy liar in the White House seems deaf when it comes to what the public wants. So no, I don’t think that the American people are so far gone that they would accept Obamappeasment. It just isn’t a relevant fact when you have a dictator in charge of the country.
