I agree with Levin on this one.

The people bashing him need to understand where he’s coming from. There wouldn’t BE talk radio if it wasn’t for Rush. I don’t think many of you remember radio before Rush hit the scene. There was NO conservative view point anywhere. Period. He pioneered a medium we take for granted today. I remember the first time I heard Rush. I was 15 years old and remember thinking finally someone who passionately and eloquently expressing the way I’ve always felt my entire life.

Levin is also a pioneer. He leads the landmark legal foundation and has been fighting the good fight a LONG time, going back to the days when he campaigned for Reagan in the 70′s, and eventually worked in his administration.

While I like Beck, he’s not even in the same ballpark as Levin and Limbaugh. Not even close. Please stop being ignorant by bashing them and putting Beck on a pedestal. He has a LONG way to go before he can even be considered in the same league.

Savage used to call Levin “Groucho” a few years back, which kinda fits, really, when you listen to him on the radio. I dunno if that’s changed though, since I can’t stand to listen to Savage for more than a few minutes at a time…

Here is how I explain them.

Limbaugh is the God Father of Conservativism, the Spokesperson, the Explainer of Things Conservative and Not.

Hannity is the Debating Attack Dog, he will debate Liberals and smash them. The Verbal Fencer.

Levin is the Intellectual Attack Dog deconstructing the psychological disease known as Liberalism. I kind of call him the Crotchety Psychologist.

Glenn Beck is the attack dog of Action. Doing things like promoting the Tea Parties and the 9/12 Movement. The Happy Warrior who loves Trench Warfare.

Levin is more of a shaman of the movement especially his great manifesto “Liberty & Tyranny”. A book that a trooper carries in his pack.

However, Beck is the daring and brave unorthodox company commander who just walked into regimental HQ with Van Jones head on a spike.

Beck attacks forcefully and directly at the beast and draws blood and wounds them.

He is an operational genius.

When he moves to 7:00pm EDT at Fox, he WILL surpass BOR in ratings.

We’ll see how BOR reacts, but the Left will try to portray it as a split in the libertarian/conservative movement even BOR is not really that conservative but more modcon.

While Beck has never been my “cup of tea” he sure seems to be the one scoring the most hits on Obama lately. He may “go down in flames” at some point, from his “wild side”, but, among the talk show hosts, he sure seems to have “drawn the most blood” from Capo Obama recently.

Within the conservative movement, Steyn is the most obvious followup to William F Buckley. He can say something that sounds pleasant but that totally eviscerates a lib’s position before he even knows what hit him…

I only heard Steyn once and his accent kind of threw me before I changed the channel. But I can see how that is correct.

Only a Brit or a Cannuck can eviscerate someone and make the evisceratee smile about it. And Buckley could do this. So could Reagan but Buckley had it down as an art form, probably due to his training.

Steyn is the Super Friendly Neighborhood Partisan that will beat you up and make you like it.

I like Beck’s overdramatic style. It is much like Patrick Henry or Sam Adams.

Of course, I’m overdramatic too.

I’ve never had trouble figuring out for the most part all these guys and gals messages.

In fact, the only one that I have trouble with is Savage. That is due to his extreme bitterness. There is a reason why there was NOT a big response to help him fight the UK on that lame stop at the airport or whatever it was.

I could have a beer with Beck and it would be cool and fun.

But Savage, no way. I agree with much of what he says, but he would just not be as much fun hanging out with.

You forgot to mention his regal redheaded good looks, clever humor, singing talent and vast musical knowledge. He has an awful lot of pluses for one man.

Isn’t it wonderful to be discussing (or bitching) and sharing perfectly valid opinions about an ever growing, ever more relevant and listened to group Conservative voices?

One thing I do for fun, is search for smaller market Conservative Talk Radio hosts. We have great ones in abundance. Their number and reach seems to be growing as well.

Give a listen to the likes of Quinn and Rose, Billy Cunningham, Chris Baker or “Gunny Bob” Newman just to name a few. Will you find a thing or two to bitch about? Probably. Will you generally like them and feel your time was well spent?…. More than probably.

America IS waking up… slowly, as is usual. But that is ok. America has traditionally reacted slowly… especially on domestic issues. But the basic overall decency of this country has one hell of a lot of inertia, when the s**t starts rolling downhill

It was hardly single-handedly I saw the pictures I think there were somewhere between 1 and 2 million people in DC on 9-12.

And all those folks who showed up at the townhalls.

I think all that laid the ground work, I think Congress knows they had better not ignore ACORN or anything else the people want taken care of.

I also don’t think enough Democrats are going to stand with Obama and pass any of his disasterous enslavement legislation.

The American people have given good Democrats cover. Now they can oppose Obama. They fear us more than him.

to illegal aliens.

Wilson voted “Yea” for the Bush “Medicare Prescription Drug
, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003.” Not only did this drug benefit add trillions to the Medicare shortfall, it translated into a bonanza for illegal immigrants.

Tucked away in Section 1011, titled the “Federal Reimbursement Of Emergency Health Services Furnished To Undocumented Aliens,” the Act specifies that:

[T]he Secretary
shall pay the amount … determined under paragraph (2) directly to eligible providers located in the State for the provision of eligible services to aliens described in paragraph (5) … aliens described in this paragraph are any of the following: (A) Undocumented aliens. (B) Aliens who have been paroled into the United States at a United States port of entry for the purpose of receiving eligible services. (C) Mexican citizens permitted to enter the United States for not more than 72 hours under the authority of a biometric machine readable border crossing identification card. …

Thus when Wilson indecorously, but correctly, called Obama out for lying about the ins-and-outs of H.R. 3200, “America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009,” he was speaking as one of 204 Republicans to have endorsed Bush’s 2003 medical monstrosity. Clearly, Wilson and his colleagues know a thing or two about hiding goodies bilked from taxpayers in the 1011th Section of a hefty bill.

I agree. The government really doesn’t care if any of these turn a profit. The important point is that they have control. Directly, as in mortgages, school loans, health care or indirectly as he plan with cap and trade.

I once got to see Steyn as a keynote speaker at a luncheon. I was sitting at a banquet table, surrounded by very nice people who cared (like me) about freedom of speech, the Islamification of the West…that kind of thing. A serious, thoughtful crowd. He is the John McCain of cable news…wants everyone to like him and “work across party lines”. Plus he’s an economic illiterate that thinks Exxon sets the price of oil.

I will give him credit for his fight against child predators. I don’t know how much he actually accomplishes (if you listen to him, every conviction is due to his show), but either way, kudos to him for keeping the issue in the spotlight.

Michael Savage may be the contrarian, but no less a brilliant mind of his own generation. I’d enjoy hearing a lively dialogue between Steyn and Savage; I’d say they’re evenly matched but of different backgrounds, making it all the more interesting than hearing either by themselves, or Steyn with any of his circle of friends.

That’s right, the Republican cheerleader who excused progressive politics vs. Conservatism when it seemed (it was) the popular thing, like Hannity. It’s too easy for them to change sweatshirts from R to C at will, and back to R again. They didn’t push the conservative movement as such until they realized they’d gone too far with the progressives, then all the back pedaling.

The last great effort Rush made was to change Republicans’ registration to Democrat in order to vote for his Hillary anti-McCain primary campaign.

Hey Rush, how about reminding those Republicans who followed your advice to primary vote Hillary to secure their Republican registration. Deadlines are imminent for local elections. Finish what you started with a show of responsibility.

There’s the upcoming Texas Gov. primary election that will matter as the Republican Party will suffer a severe infight: Perry vs. Hutchison on the Republican ticket. Rush owes the Republicans to finish what he started with voter registration in Texas 2008 primaries.

The best thing about Beck is he is self effacing, very unlike Rush and Savage.

Although Rush may promote the slogans, those that actually cut corruption to the quick originate from Michael Savage, the elder intellectual conservative talk radio host.

Last night, Savage came out with an interesting take on Obama’s missile minuet with Russia, btw, that no one anywhere spoke or wrote of previously. Watching Savage make waves is either cathartic or exhilarating, like watching the coastal waters ebb and flow that when moved by the natural course of events, roar with a mighty thunder accompanied by bolts of lightening.

Dr. Savage is the conservative’s lightening rod. Give credit where credit is due.

We don’t have Savage’s show in this neck of the woods, but I love the idea of someone who can interview musicians and historians and political figures with good humor and intelligence. I admire Terry Gross of NPR for her interviews, but hate her politics. Still haven’t decided who bested who in her Bill O’Reilly series.

Enjoyed seeing it last night on broadcast. Leno has balls. He rules the night scene, and I’m glad he’s on before the news. NBC did conservatives a huge favor in programming Leno “prime time”, easier than ever to miss their crappy news. It’s the late night crowd who are stuck with the not-even-ready-for “not ready for prime time players” old apologist not funny shtick, including the bony red-head whose face is not young.

I hope Leno changes his new intro music sooner than later. It sounds like something prepared for Regis & Kathie/Kelly or even The View.

BTW, around the noon hour, The Fred Thompson Show isn’t broadcast locally for me. But his website has a direct livestream. BTW, his jazz selections during commercial break remind me of the concerts from local jazz bands I’d hear.
