Waters: Protesters should be probed for “racist” thoughts
posted at 5:12 pm on September 16, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
To be fair, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) suggested that the media probe Obama critics for their latent racism, not the government, but in the end she’s sure it’s there. The Hill reports that Waters identifies racists by their use of the term “ObamaCare”, which would apparently include me. Gee, when I called it HillaryCare in 1993, was that racist too?
The media should investigate the racial views of conservative activists like the ones who descended on Washington last weekend, one liberal congresswoman said Wednesday.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said that it’s not enough for African-Americans to levy allegations of racism against the right-leaning protesters, and that the media must look into their views.
“I want those people talked to; I want them interviewed,” Waters told the liberal Bill Press Radio show in a podcast. “I want journalists to be all over those rallies and the marches with the birthers and the teabaggers.”
“What I’m looking for is the very people who carry the signs who are referring to the policies in very, very strange ways like ‘Obamacare’ and ‘Barry Obamacare with Kennedy,’” she said. “What I’ve been interested in is hearing from those people that everybody’s referring to — everybody on the Mall, in the rally.”
So let’s get this straight. Calling Obama’s overhaul of the American health-care system “ObamaCare” is evidence of some kind of bigotry, either latent or overt. Calling protesters “teabaggers,” on the other hand, is — what, exactly? Wit? Sophomoric humor? A complete ignorance of American history?
Waters needn’t worry about the media. MS-NBC practically has recast itself as the Thought Police Network, with interminable paranoid segments about latent racism in the opposition to Barack Obama and the Democrats. Jimmy Carter’s own huge double standard on criticism has gotten plenty of play on all the networks. The Department of Homeland Security managed to plow the ground for this attack in its execrable report on “right-wing extremism,” which managed to avoid identifying any violent groups but instead painted opponents to abortion and illegal immigration with a broad brush as extremists.
Click on the image below to listen to Waters’ giggly reference to “teabaggers.” And click here to read more on how the House ethics panel has extended a probe into Waters’ push for a bank bailout that benefited her family.

I think this video may have been edited. If you play it backwards in the sunlight and listen with a stethoscope, you then can plainly hear her say “Bring them to me now! Everyone of them in chains and shackles! Beat them with rods and throw them down on the floor before me and I will crush their throats with my red high heel shoes!”
Not certain that’s what it says but it sure sounds like it.

Well, fuschia is my favorite color in the world. And I still would not vote for him if he were fuschia. This is the left’s last stand. Their intent is to shut down the debate and static by throwing the lit race card on the draw pile. In the past, many of us kind of gave up the discussions once race is involved. Not any more. We are more educated about this administration’s policies, we are more passionate about our country. Just a few words for Ms. Waters: It’s about the policies, ding dong. And good luck with the House ethics panel, sounds like you might need it.
Yellowdog12 on September 16, 2009 at 7:54 PM
As a result of Carter, Waters, et al, efforts to advance false accusations of racism to include more than half the total population of North America, the current denotative definition of racism will hence forth read: A pathetic last ditch effort achieved through racial projection to save Obamacare when all other strategies have been completely exhausted; team Barry’s last harrah to achieve credibility through stigmatizing any and all detractors; the Alinski/Wright method of silencing and stifling the opposition; to distract opponents and divert their attention away from the actual source of the failure; to obfuscate reality.

I love this racist crap, they hurl it at anyone and everyone, they have taken all of the sting out of the word. They used to throw it out on occasion to get what they want. Nobody wanted to wear that label, now nobody cares. The only response to the word should be no more then a F@#K YOU!
I hope they continue this strategy, it is clearly failing them, keep ramming it down our throats. At some point, coming soon, they will once again be asking us for our vote, just remember, they think you are a racist. There should no longer be anything called “white guilt” for you are a racist. They show nothing but contempt for you, until they need you. Let them know that you know the game being played, and tell ANY Dem, you are a racist, and proud to be, after all they are really calling you is an American, and they don’t like America.

I was once having a rather animated discussion with a dear friend of mine, who happened to be a man of color.A young lady, old enough to be my granddaughter, injected herself into our discussion by asking if I were a racist. I replied “only to assholes”. It seemed to take the wind out of her sails. Think this would work with the Waters and Carters of the world?

I have nine dead Clan at Andersonville and their names are recorded. I, for one, have no guilt.
I wonder if it would be ‘racist’ to demand a ‘thank you’. I hear all the time slavery was a terrible thing, and it was, but that’s where the matter is dropped. Never once have I heard it be said those who fought for the Union should be thanked for their sacrifice.

Sometime last summer, I was talking with another person about how an Obama presidency would actually increase racial tensions – far from the celebratory love-in of goosebumpy self-loathing that put him in the White House in the first place. And yet, I still seemed shocked and amazed how it actually does roll out these days. Maybe I just didn’t believe it would be SO ludicrous as to be comical.
Perhaps the best we can hope for is for all these histrionics to usher the true post-racial environment into reality. I mean we have got to be at some saturation point with all these bleaters. Will this not backfire to massive proportions, all but imploding the race-baiting mantra? Or is there simply too much money and power wrapped up in the race game for it to ever go away?
Still, I’d settle for most of these fools to just get their a**es fired come next election.

Civil conflict is not the answer. While we are irritated by the constant BS of “racist,” we should also be asking the question at every turn “Really? What else ya got?”
When black people were marching and acting in concert to achieve civil rights, they were often referred to as “the block vote.” Conservatives have to adopt the same unified action. Our objectives should be to elect a conservative president, take back Congress and have every conservative elected official be committed to rolling back the socialist menace as rapidly as possible under a predetermined plan.
Smaller government is possible only if we adopt the strategy and tactics of an organized resistance but not an armed resistance. Taking earnings offshore, where possible, and not repatriating profits while still possible, may make Big Beast starvation viable.

Media: We found a racist, may we smear him?
Maxine Waters: How do you know he is a racist?

Maxine Waters: Bring him forward.
*Media pushes figured dressed in KKK garb towards Maxine Waters*
Accused Racist: I’m not a racist! I’m not a racist!

Accused Racist: [points back at Media] They dressed me up like this.
Maxine Waters: [looks towards Media] Well?
Media: Well, we did do the hood. And the robe.
Comic hilarity ensues, until the Accused Racist is proven to be a racist by weighing them against a duck.
Exit Question for Maxine Waters, Jimmy Carter, et al.: Is there any criticism of President Obama that would not bring out rabid charges of racism? Or is even harboring the thought of criticizing Obama racist in and of itself? I’d like to know before the

You know, a black caller phoned Rush this morning and said that Obama has set back race relations 50 years.
I’m inclined to agree. After four years of him, and ass wipes like Waters, among others, I don’t think America will want to elect another black person for president because we’ve all had a bellyfull of their race mongering.
And that will be a shame, because we could end up bypassing a truly great black president.
Thanks, Obama. Thanks, Waters, you b*tch.

And Waters does so love her all that free stuff from the people since she’s ensconced in Congress: face lifts, wigs, new teeth, lots and lots of nice cars (for her AND husband)…fancy digs, workers to schlep for her…Waters is a user of the rank sort, a corrupt individual.
Never forget her slip-o-the-tongue not so long ago, captured on tape before the public, when asked about ObamaCare and other Leftwing Loonie Plans the Democrats had in their plans, that it was “socialism…” which she quickly stopped herself from fully stating, obviously embarrassed that she’d been caught telling the truth, so she lapsed into (after much stuttering) more lies about the plans.
Waters is an old, fogey Communist who is not to be trusted and should never be in Congress. Our fault as a nation that people such as herself are voted into office (there are many more like her, unfortunately, in the current group in Congress), but it’s not our fate. This thread is about Maxine Waters and her view of racists. My post is a little off-topic, but not much.
Today in his press briefing, Robot Gibbs was asked:”What impact does it have when a former President of the United States, someone who came from the South, someone who worked against discrimination all of his career, says that the — what was it — an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity is because he’s black? What effect does that have on the country when a former President says that?
Here’s our smart-aleck White House Press Secretary’s answer: MR. GIBBS: Look, you know, it adds to — it adds to our dialogue. I’m just simply saying I don’t think the President agrees with that.
IT ADDS TO OUR DIALOGUE???? Gibbs is another brilliant, brilliant pick of the Obama administration. I hope someone will pick up on his answer. I think this is just completely out of line. He’s always been a smug, complacent jerk who thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room–but this is too much to take, even from him.
