Too bad to check: Obama ready to cancel European missile defense shield?
posted at 8:54 pm on September 16, 2009 by Allahpundit
Just a rumor for now, but big enough to warrant a preemptive bloggy uproar in case the die has yet to be cast.
According to reliable sources, Obama administration officials are on their way to Poland and the Czech Republic to deliver very bad news. The administration intends to cancel completely the missile defense sites that had been promised to these governments by the previous administration. This represents a complete capitulation to Russia’s Vladimir Putin, who had demanded that the proposed deployments be halted as a price for improved relations. Ironically, the Obama administration, which is appeasing Russia in the hopes that Moscow will help put pressure on Iran, has made this mammoth concession just a few days after Moscow declared that it had no intention of supporting sanctions against Iran.
The consequences of this action in Eastern Europe, especially in Ukraine and in other countries that feel vulnerable to Russian power, will be disastrous. It is a major American retreat in the face of Russian bullying. And we will get absolutely nothing for it.
This comes five days after Russia reportedly told The One that he could forget about them agreeing to any new sanctions on Iran. Is that what we’re getting in return for kneecapping our eastern European allies — Russia’s agreement to a new round of economic penalties that won’t remotely convince Tehran to give up its nuke program? Or are we not getting even that? How about having Russia change its mind about creating the very same crisis in Venezuela that it’s helped to create in Iran? Do we get that at least? I can stomach, barely, the idea of selling out American allies if we’re getting something of overwhelming value to the United States in return, like Iranian disarmament. What are we getting here, aside from Vladimir Putin’s warm compliments? This is the same deal we made with Chavez on Honduras, i.e. abandoning an ally simply to prove to the cretins of the world that the Obama era will be different from the Bush one.
I hope it’s not true. Just like I hope it’s not true, as Newsweek is claiming, that U.S. intel still seriously believes Iran isn’t working on a bomb. European intelligence agencies have been laughing at that claim for years, from the British back in 2007 to Nicolas Sarkozy just this morning. In fact, as I’ve mentioned a bunch of times on HA previously, the very same NIE that claimed Iran had stopped its bomb program also claimed that it had 10-15 secret nuclear sites devoted to god knows what. The Newsweek piece smells like spin leaked by the administration to buy Obama some more time with the public for Iran negotiations, just like Israel’s threat of having to attack before December unless heavy sanctions are imposed is spin the other way. Exit question: If Iran’s such a serious threat, what’s The One doing taking Europe’s missile defense shield away?

Well of course he is. He promised such back during the primary before he went into 100% lie mode for the general election:
“I will not weaponize space.
I will slow advanced weapons development.
I will not develop new nuclear weapons.
I will not fund unproven missile defense.”
Paraphrased from memory. After I saw those comments on video I was shocked that any sane person would vote for him.
He’s throwing away our tech advantage and conceding the future to the Chinese and Russians. Treasonous!

I just hope the next time some rightie blogger wants to complain about Bush and what he supposedly did to the Republican party… and pile on him along with the moronic liberals who just surrendered to Russia…that all these people will remember that maybe just maybe Bush was not all bad. That maybe, just maybe there is a difference between Bush and Obama.

At last the Europeans will no longr be under a US umbrella, through Obamas actions of appeasement he may well awaken nationalism within Europe, which I may add is a good thing for those who believe in freedom in democracy. Many people think that Nationalism or Patriotism is the same as being Nazi’s, but it is not, it is love of our culture and our nation as a familly. If my people can at last remember who they are and what they did and can do then the left will lose and it is begining. Obama will create a rebirth which has happened with the Tea Parties, now it may even spread further afield, even if in terms of strategic sense it is completely stupid, this is all part of the lesson that the mis-management of Obama will teach us.

The Obamunist retreat continues, allowing Russia to grow stronger. He will not confront Iran, either. The Israelis will have to do it alone (will Obambi even give them permission to overfly Iraq?), and soon, before the anti-aircraft missile systems Iran bought from Russia are operational.
How long before Obambi reverses direction in Afghanistan and pulls out, allowing the Islamists to take over Pakistan’s nuclear force?

Russia may be the only place where Obama’s unaltered passport records still exist. They are requested in Orly Taitz’ lawsuits – one of which is scheduled to be heard next January with discovery being conducted immediately, unless a motion to dismiss is granted on Oct 5th (which Judge David Carter has basically said is not likely).
This is why our founders said a commander-in-chief MUST NOT HAVE dual loyalties. And any moron on the street should know that a crook is always up for sale to the highest bidder. You lie once and you have to pay whatever price is necessary to uphold the lie.
Missile defense would be the greatest factor to nudge someone towards nuclear disarmament. If your nukes will just be intercepted anyway, the whole mutually-assured destruction thing becomes moot. To give up on missile defense is to abandon any hopes of nuclear disarmament. Obama would give up ANYTHING to stay in the White House. The rest of the world be damned.
Narcissist? Yeah. But much, much more dangerous than that. Folks, we HAVE to take his ineligibility seriously, because he is very obviously is willing to sell the world as well as his own soul in order to hide the truth.

Russia on Thursday welcomed the news but said it saw no reason to offer concessions in return.
The Obama administration’s move was confirmed by the Czech Republic interim prime minister. “Just after midnight I was informed in a telephone call by President Barack Obama that [his] administration has decided to pull out from the planned missile-defense-shield installations” in the Czech Republic and Poland, said Jan Fischer at a news conference Thursday
So, is there some reason that Obama couldn’t wait until a more civilized time of day?

Judge David Carter said that if Obama is eligible then the lingering questions will damage his credibility, and if he is NOT eligible, then time is of the essence.
Being a former Marine, I hope he looks at what Obama is doing and realizes that Russia – possibly the only player that Obama hasn’t yet been able to bribe into covering for him – has unlimited power as long as Obama needs to hide behind them.
The delay here may have irreversible costs to our whole world. That should speak volumes to any Marine.

IN 2004 Kenyan officials removed birth records from the hospital in Mombasa for the years 1960-63, altering and destroying some before returning some.
Before Obama ran for president a friend of his went to Indonesia to scrub the records there.
The Hawaiian records have so many loopholes that a false claim of birth in Hawaii would only show up as a certificate with documentation (or lack thereof) found in a separate file.
We know that Obama’s passport file was breached 3 separate times and instead of being punished, the CEO of the company involved was promoted to being national security chief – who promptly recommended a “communications czar” who could “think like the criminals” and would be involved directly with…. making passport records “secure”.
We know that someone in the selective service administration forged a registration for Obama.
From what we’ve seen of ACORN, SEIU, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, banking, automakers, and now health industry… people in America can be bribed easily. Other foreign governments have already allowed their records to be compromised.
The folks Obama has been appeasing are all allies of Russia – Chavez, Castro, Iran, Hezbollah, Syria (again, without requiring any concessions for America)… and even Libya (whose leader said before the election that Obama was a Kenyan Muslim) got their Lockerbie bomber back with Obama’s consent.
Although these concessions are straight in line with his communist and Muslim sympathies – which would be bad to reveal even further right now, considering the exposes by Breitbart and Beck regarding Obama’s grooming by communists all along – they also go AGAINST Obama’s professed goal of nuclear disarmament. They go AGAINST his desire for approval, since Europe is beginning to see him as he is. They also threaten to awaken military folks who are already a bone in his throat because of the potential class-action eligibility lawsuits.
The timing on this is really, really bad. This move plays into everything being said against him. It can’t help his standing with ANYBODY.
I seriously think the Russians have him by the throat. Back when he was a senator he made a visit to Russia with another Senator. The Russians detained him because something about his passport was not right. That fluke event may now be controlling everything that happens in international relations.
justincase on September 17, 2009 at 11:19 AM
Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the new NATO Secretary, is onboard with this move…he is of the “let’s be friends with Russia” crowd.
Rasmussen believes we need to fashion a strategic partnership with Russia.
Rasmussen said he had asked the former US secretary of state Madeleine Albright to head a panel of international figures drafting a new strategy document, which is to be ready by a NATO summit in Lisbon in November next year.
And Poland, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania? Apparently not important, according to Rasmussen. Meanwhile, General Stephane Abrial of France has taken over the job of Supreme Allied Commander Transformation for NATO.
What could possibly go wrong?
NATO kept the peace in Europe for over 50 years. Keeping the Russians out was but one focus of NATO. Keeping NATO members from going at each other was the other important element.
NATO will soon be nothing but a shell, paving the way for mini-agreements, ententes, if you will, as various European countries start to look out for their own interests first…which, if you look at it, they’ve already begun to do.

Now that it is reality, it’s hard to determine which is worse: (1) the lame excuse that America can turn its back on allies because Iran’s nuclear capabilities are not progressing as rapidly as before, even though the New York Times reported this week that the U.S. ambassador to the IAEA said Iran now has a “possible breakout capacity” if it wants to enrich its uranium stockpile and convert it to bomb-grade material, or, (2) that U.S. leaders are willing to sell out our friends for Russia, whose own leaders just said they will not push for tougher sanctions against Iran.
This betrayal comes as America continues to press NATO allies to do more in Afghanistan. Poland just sent even more troops to Afghanistan to help with the recent election. And Polish troops were side-by-side with America in Iraq in significant numbers until recently. The Czech Republic is running a large Provincial Reconstruction Team and advising the Afghanistan Air Corps today.

And some wonder why we Easter Europeans for the most part do not like the democrats, because they 1. remind us of commies and 2. have consistently screwed us over. Upon reflection, its funny isn’t it how many supposedly conservative pundits with background in this area have been peddling the bs that Obama is essentially continuing his predecessor’s foreign policy. As if Bush or even Clinton would have done this. Carter is the only Dhimmicrat naive enough to pull something like this.
Oh well, so much for the smart guys. If you think they are surprised now, wait til Chairman Maobama announces his withdrawal from A’stan.

I was just scrolling down to login in to type this same phrase. I remember 1978 and 1979 vividly when Jimmy Carter 1.0 stood by sucking his thumb and whining when the Iranians sacked our embassy and took our people hostage. That same day they tried to do the same thing with the USSR embassy, but that president (or whatever they called their top dude back then), called up the Allatoyah and told him that if the Allatoyah didn’t want his country to be turned into glass for the next million years, he would call off his dogs. They left the USSR embassy immediately. Our esteemed President hid under his desk and whined about the sovereign status of the embassy. Pussy.
I am VERY ALARMED about this. I read this entire website page about this passport issue and the Russians are featured in this research. People, you need to go read this link on your own. Initially I poo-pooed the whole birth issue. Now I am just plain frightened.

Do your research, reach this timeline about Obama’s early life up until he ran for public office. It is well researched and documented with references.

Why did the Sec of Defense recommend this action? People who say the military will save us – are we talking about the same military, or what? Do we have ANYBODY in the military who’s not a yes-man to Obama?

Not at the top. Nothing but worms and morons there. They disgust me. Not even a single resignation over this traitorous and stupid policy … unreal.
