Jon Stewart to media on ACORN: “Where the hell were you?”

Kudos to Jon Stewart, who doesn’t sugar-coat the embarrassment at all — to the apparent delight of his audience, who get kudos of their own. How can the national news media ignore the many allegations of corruption at ACORN, which gets millions of dollars in federal funding, and allow a couple of independents with $3,000 and a bad wardrobe scoop them on the undercover story of the year? It’s easy when newsrooms are more concerned with political direction than truth. Stick around to the end, when Stewart zings Michelle Malkin haters:

I check KOS everyday for ANY mentiion of ACORN….ZIP. ZERO , ZILCH. Hilarious. There are like 100 diaries on the Wilson “liar” story. LOL. I Think these two investigative reporters should be the new 60 min! I love how they rolled this out.

Not true. There’s actually been a fair bit of criticism of ACORN on Kos. Of course, there’s been support too.

He’ll never admit it, but Stewart might have been shamed into doing this by Glenn Beck’s admonition to Democrats to confront this corruption on the grounds of human decency and setting aside politics in this instance. I’m thinking Glenn struck a nerve, if only for a brief, shining moment there.
