Quotes of the day

posted at 10:30 pm on September 15, 2009 by Allahpundit

“A growing number of people once affiliated with Acorn want nothing more to do with the group. Marcel Reid, for example, was one of eight national Acorn board members who were removed last year after demanding an audit of the group’s books. She notes that Acorn received $7.4 million in contributions from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) between 2005 and 2008 but actively fights unionization efforts by its own employees. Ms. Reid also notes that Acorn was sanctioned by the National Labor Relations Board in 2003 for illegally firing workers trying to organize a union…

Former Acorn board members tell me the group has always been confident it will be protected. After the Nevada voter-registration fraud indictment last May, Bonnie Greathouse, Acorn’s chief organizer in the state, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that ‘we’ve had bad publicity before’ and survived. ‘People always come forward to our defense. We’re just community organizers, just like the president used to be.’”

How about we send congress to El Salvador to be prostitutes?

TMK on September 16, 2009 at 6:19 AM

They’re managing that role extremely well without as much as traveling one inch out of their DC offices.

Shy Guy on September 16, 2009 at 6:28 AM

This is what I’ve been thinking about the past several days as the tapes were trickling out. 1) these kids and Beck need security

Diane on September 16, 2009 at 6:18 AM

Blackwater. Lots of Blackwater.

Yoop on September 16, 2009 at 6:31 AM

Beck is making these folks squirm

you’re doing a great service to America, Glenn Beck

Sometimes your schtick annoys me, but you’re a great man, doing a great thing

and f*ck all your detractors.

blatantblue on September 16, 2009 at 6:52 AM

AnninCA on September 15, 2009 at 11:39 PM

Really? I never would have guessed…

Talk about getting the ‘Prez all wee-weed up!
I’m just petrified, though, that we’re going to get some sort of big, really big “Wag the Dog” event to not only attempt to distract us from this, but to be the excuse to grab a’holt of the media (especially cable, talk radio, internet)in the name of national security.

OT: Bernanke says the recession is ovah! Wow, does Obama have a picture of Ben with an under-aged duck, or what?

Hey! Has no one else thought of this yet?

Remember the campaign for people to send tea bags to congress?

How about sending acorns to congress?

MB4 on September 15, 2009 at 11:50 PM

Good idea.

Or underage prostitutes.

Shy Guy on September 16, 2009 at 5:10 AM

I think some already do that.

Loxodonta on September 16, 2009 at 7:51 AM

I agree with that. If it weren’t for FNC and talk radio, we’d be done as a republic.

Even so, there’s a really hard fight ahead.

petefrt on September 16, 2009 at 8:05 AM

James and Hannah are giving Hannity a turn tonight. He gets the NEXT exclusive video.

I wonder if Charlie Gibson would like to have the next exclusive video? I wonder if he knows about it yet?

barnone on September 16, 2009 at 8:07 AM

Chewy the Lab on September 16, 2009 at 7:15 AM

It’ll happen. I’m keeping my eyes on the NY terror bust.

petefrt on September 16, 2009 at 8:05 AM

Oh man….so what’s Glenn Beck going to talk about today? He loses me when he goes off into wild bursts of moral indignation.

THAT was the quote I meant to highlight.

Coffee. I need coffee.

anniekc on September 16, 2009 at 8:28 AM

I wonder if Obama used to support child prostitution…

Upstater85 on September 15, 2009 at 10:34 PM

Nope, can’t have child prostitution when you support babies dying in closets.

mechkiller_k on September 16, 2009 at 9:13 AM

And I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn’t for you meddling kids!

agmartin on September 16, 2009 at 9:19 AM

Glen annoys the crap out of me, honestly. But there’s not denying the good he is providing to our country.
Funniest line of the day:

If the speaker of the house had to depend on turning tricks to buy her food, she would soon starve to death. The mental image makes me shudder.

el rey on September 16, 2009 at 1:30 PM

I’ve kind of always thought of Glenn as being a bit of a kook. But, I have to admit. Recently he has been growing on me.

watson007 on September 15, 2009 at 10:39 PM

He’s like your crazy neighbor who’s always full of conspiracy theories…. that eventually turn out to be true.
