New ACORN video: Murder in California?

I’ve been checking Big Government since 4 p.m. for the new clip but it looks like they’re going to wait and roll it out simultaneously with Beck’s show on Fox, which I assume pretty much all of you will be watching. Here’s your thread to comment. The rumors of what’s on this new one are scandalous, but they’re still only rumors — for a few more minutes at least. I’ll post the clips here as soon as they’re available.
Over/under on how many questions the community-organizer-in-chief gets about ACORN during his Sunday morning media blitz: One. Stand by for updates.
Update: Here we go.
Looks like we’ve got a confession to either murder or manslaughter in the very first minute here. Can’t wait for that House vote on whether to keep funding this syndicate.
Update: And now, within the second minute, we’ve got a death threat from the murderer/manslaughterer.
Update: I’m not even halfway through and this woman’s spitting out names of California pols she claims to regularly “lobby.” Boxer is among them.
Update: The first clip ends with her confessing to having run a prostitution ring of her very own and, naturally, not declaring a dime of the proceeds to the IRS. Presumably ACORN’s defense will be that this woman’s full-blown nuts and is spinning a yarn to impress her clients, but (a) she sure is specific about dollar amounts, and (b) San Bernardino PD will have something to say about her ex, I’m guessing. Stand by while we wait for the next clip, which I’ll post below.
Update: It’s 6 p.m. and they still haven’t posted the next vid. Maybe they’re saving it for tomorrow? If so, two parting thoughts for now. One: Giles dropped a big hint in her BG post this afternoon that this isn’t the last office they visited. Which makes sense. Why go to the trouble of flying out to the coast to visit only San Bernardino? Two: As sensational as the details about murder are, don’t let that swallow up the larger story about the pattern of conspiracy in covering up sex trafficking that O’Keefe and Giles keep finding at ACORN offices. The murder stuff might not be true or she might already have done her time or, although it sounds unlikely, it might have been a legitimate case of self-defense. ACORN apologists are desperate to change the subject and this may end up giving them a chance. As O’Keefe reminds us, Alinsky Rule #8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”
Update: A clever point from Goldfarb. If ACORN believes all these videos are doctored, why are they firing the employees involved?

I’d imagine Obummer and everyone associated with this would be terrified of uttering a single word at present. Remember, they don’t know what’s coming next. Their own guilt will lead them to make some scary speculations on what might be revealed. So, better to shutup and let everyone believe you’re in it up to your neck, than to open your mouth and confirm it or make it worse.

SAN BERNARDINO – The head organizer for California ACORN says a new video that appears to show a staffer at the organization’s San Bernardino office is fake journalism.
The video, which was posted shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday on a Web site called Big Government.com, shows a female ACORN employee talking to a man who claims to be a pimp interested in establishing a brothel where underage immigrant prostitutes would turn tricks in order to raise money for political activity.
The woman, identified on the video as Tresa Kaelke, appears on posted footage to be interested in cooperating the plan. However, California ACORN head organizer Amy Schur said the video is a gross misrepresentation of what actually happened.
“In this video, there are two actors who come into our office and who were messing with us. And our employee was messing with them,” Schur said.
She said that the complete and unedited video needs to be released to the public.
Schur said that in a moment not shown on the edited video, Kaelke asked the undercover “pimp” if he was joking and then proceeded to play along with the joke.
Furthermore, Schur said that Kaelke will sign an affidavit stating that she was not seriously entertaining the idea of cooperating with an apparent attempt to establish a house of prostitution.
“She (Kaelke) asked if they were joking and asked if they were reporters. They said they weren’t reporters and they aren’t. This is not legitimate news,” Schur said.
Schur’s statements follow comments from ACORN office supervisor Christina Spach, who said Kaelke was afraid of the “pimp” and “prostitute” who broached the prostitution ploy at ACORN’s San Bernardino office.
The Big Government.com video identifies the “pimp” as James O’Keefe and the “prostitute” as Hannah Giles. O’Keefe and Giles could not be reached immediately for comment.
Sign an affidavit? SIGN AN AFFIDAVIT??? Kaelke talks on the tape about getting away with murder and running a prostitution ring, and now she’s going to sign an affidavit that she was joking and afraid of the “pimp and prostitute”!!!!

Well let’s assume it wasn’t true. What, they weren’t supposed to run with the footage? And what if the MSM decides this is the point they want to jump in and set the record straight. Don’t you think that’s going to look bad on them…..oh this is important but the whole underlying scandal doesn’t deserve a few minutes? Maybe they want someone to jump on that, after all it wasn’t them that made the claim.
Still, I think this might be against the majority opinion here but I don’t see this as the blockbuster it was hyped to be. I think it’s a big deal that you had co-workers working with these 2 so openly. They had no fears of recrimination from their peers and that told you the structure encourages corruption. I know there were rumors of a connection to a Senator but that just looks like a moonbat running her mouth.
I don’t say that to rip on these guys. What they have done has been the most significant piece of journalism in a long time and they deserve all the praise that comes their way. I just don’t see this as being any more damning than the earlier ones, as it was being spun. At least not as of yet…we all know there is more coming. Drip, drip, drip.

I understand and agree about names and whether they’re unique and/or unusual. More often than not the problem is misspelling (and how might someone have done it) in my experience searching through genealogical records.
The key point I wanted to communicate was the birth and death of the son, which was overlooked/misunderstood on Hannity’s site when I visited there.
What I found and reported was confined to California and I did not delve into court records (I’ll leave that to more experienced folks).

The records I’m finding on Tresa Parten/Berhow/Kaelke are so far from San Bernadino and Los Angeles Counties.
I’m going to tool around some lesser known databases. It looks like the criminal history of domestic violence and marriage records are making the rounds on other blogs. I am definitely not the only infosleuth on the job tonight =)
Btw: heard CBS/Couric FINALLY reported on Acorn tonight. Don’t know if they were inspired by the mounting information or John Stewart. Guess Stewart won’t be invited to Couric’s holiday parties since he let the acorn out of the bag.

The “pc” charge is possession of controlled substance. She was charged in 1997 and had a warrant for her arrest until 2008.
ACORN filed a police report to have them check out the “alledged” homicide…………

I don’t agree. If she didn’t kill a husband, she’s an amoral, lying POS. If she’s got a criminal record and/or restraining orders for domestic issues, it would help to know about them to head off any “poor, poor pitiful Tresa” sob stories.
No argument from me regarding ACORN’s lofty hiring standards.

Unless you find newspaper articles or obituaries, you’d have to purchase copies of the death certificates from CA. Cost is about $20 each and turnaround time in my experience is at least four weeks.

What is outrageous about this and shows the state-run media (SRM) in the worst light is that digging up the info isn’t hard to do. It’s not related to my regular job (nor, I suspect, the job of nearly all the others doing this right now), but it is time consuming.
On a shoestring budget O’Keefe and Giles brought to light more evidence of corruption than the SRM found in nearly three years. When the knee-walking turkeys in the SRM lose their cushy jobs and can no longer prime The Precedent’s pump at every opportunity, our shouted response to their whining will be, “Tough luck! Now go find yourself a job where you actually have to work!”

Obama is going on Univision? That is Spanish language right? Do they know about the attempted Latina slave trade his pet organization is willing to set up for people?
Maybe someone should clue them in. They might be the ones who could ask the tough questions. My guess is Obama’s current stance of making sure illegals are not eligible is not sitting well… and importing young girls to service men? Yeah that should make a few people explode.

I haven’t found anything yet. The earliest I’ve found is November 2008 when she was driving people to vote.
She was originally arrested in 1997 with a bail of $25,000 (so she had a good amount of drugs).
She was put on probation and entered into an alcohol program in 1999. It appears she didn’t follow through on the probation and a warrant was issued.
I can’t tell from the online records how this came back up – whether she turned herself in or got picked up.
5/6/08 she was re-arraigned and the warrant was recalled.
6/2/08 her probation was terminated.

That’s interesting. ACORN claims she was just playing along but they were concerned enough about her weird story to file a police report. Hmmmm I need to compute that for a while something seems in consistent about that.

I can see the advantage of setting up the history in one state, and luring the victim to a vacation sight, say Las Vegas, and killing him there. The police are less likely to interview the neighbors, to confirm the background.

Once, again, it’s irrelevant. She is the one who said on tape that she killed someone. Either she’s telling the truth or she lied. No one sought out to prove she was a murderess. IOW, it’s entirely her problem. They only wanted to show that acorn encourages people to commit fraud.

A San Bernardino woman Tuesday was caught up in a national controversy surrounding the community organizing group ACORN when she appeared on a hidden-camera video bragging about killing her husband.
ACORN employee Tresa Kaelke is shown meeting with them, telling them that she once was an escort and got away with killing her husband. But Kaelke insisted Tuesday she made up her story for shock value. ACORN’s San Bernardino office occupies an otherwise vacant two-story office building on North D Street.
Kaelke was at the office Tuesday afternoon, but ACORN officials would not let her speak to a reporter. Since she claimed on the video to have killed her husband, two San Bernardino police homicide detectives interviewed her at the office Tuesday.
Police said they have been in contact with Kaelke’s former husbands and the homicide claims do not appear accurate. “At this point, we can’t prove that there’s anything to her statement,” said San Bernardino police Sgt. Dave Dillon. “We can’t show that ever happened.” One of her ex-husbands, Ronald Kaelke, 66, of Newberry Springs, said he was unaware of any investigation or that his ex-wife had made any claims of murder.
The couple divorced in 1987, but attempted to reconcile and lived together from 2002 to 2005, Ronald Kaelke said in a telephone interview. In 2007, the couple traded allegations of domestic violence and received separate restraining orders against each other, he said.
“As far as her murdering an ex-husband, that’s news to me,” Ronald Kaelke said. “She’s definitely got problems and goes off the wall sometimes.”
