Video: Joe Wilson autographing photos of his outburst now?
posted at 5:35 pm on September 14, 2009 by Allahpundit
It’s hard to tell for absolute sure what he’s doing but it sure looks like that’s what he’s doing, especially when you watch the full-sized version. (The photo in question is here.) I don’t mind him raising money off the notoriety in order to defend himself from the nutroots money bomb but the rock-star pose is starting to grate, especially given the perverse incentive it creates for loose cannons on both sides to pop off. Maybe that House censure isn’t such a bad idea after all. Or, given that it’ll only further endear him to guys like this, is it?

Some of what Joe Wilson has done already to keep citizens safe (emphasis mine):
-Tim Macy, Vice Chairman of GOA.

So how long should Joe Wilson hold his head down in shame? Should he cover himself with a sackcloth and refuse to acknowlege the request of a fellow American? Maybe Allah should have dissed on the person wanting an autograph.
mobydutch on September 14, 2009 at 7:20 PM
So Allah you like decorum more than truth? Well I disagree.
I believe “You Lie!” is the perfect campaign slogan against Obama. In fact I saw a bumper sticker for sale saying that and the Obama logo as the “o”… I hate hate hate bumper sticker on my car. But this is the first one I’ve considered buying in years. It reflects everything I feel about Obama.
petunia on September 14, 2009 at 7:20 PM
It would be totally awesome with me, but he apologized and then does this.

Seriously did you miss that press conference where Nancy said the CIA and the Bush Administration lied to her?
And surely you noticed congressmen booing Bush?
Besides Obama was the first to use the liar tag….in the same speech just before Wilson. He claimed Sarah Palin and others lied about the end of life counseling that is clearly clearly in the bill. Or was in the bill until Sarah raised her voice in vicious “lies” against his holiness.
petunia on September 14, 2009 at 7:25 PM
Well, that moment is what distinguished him from the anemic pack of nutless wonders destined to go down in the annals of silent complicity, so let the man enjoy his moment and juice it for what it’s worth.
I’m for anything that will make a Lib’s head implode with rage, and this certainly qualifies.
“Civility” is the new favorite word of the Left now that the illusion of smooth sailing has come to a grinding halt and they’re deflecting blows.
RepubChica on September 14, 2009 at 7:27 PM
Oh my GAWD! More Republican rube crimes! I’m aghast.
Django on September 14, 2009 at 7:27 PM
I just want to know when Obama is going to apologise for his liar name-calling in that speech.
Utterly disgusting and classless coming from the POTUS.

More from GOA, because it’s a good letter:
A crying shame indeed.

Hell, I’d pay $10 to get one of those signed limited edition jobbies for my collection.

One point seems to be lost in the furor over Wilson’s calling the President a liar (“You lie!”) over the illegal alien health care coverage issue. Obama, in his own words, had referred to his health care opponents’ positions as “lies”, “false” and “misinformation”. And he was looking directly at the Republican side of the aisle when he said it. So who is calling who a liar?
In addition, what will happen when the government passes a new amnesty and all those illegal aliens become-LEGAL? You know that’s on the “to-do” list.
At any rate, the new tact (or is it the old tact?)is to denigrate all those people you saw marching in the streets of Washington last week, all the people who go to the tea parties, all those 1.3 million who signed the Save Our Health Care Now petition and accuse them of being Nazis, un-American, extremists, uninformed, etc.
And, of yes; we are also racists. We are “revolting against the idea of having a black man in the White House”. Jeanine Garofalo was “right” months back when she told an agreeing Keith Olbermann that we are all “red neck racists”.
This is how the White House, the Dems in Congress, the leftists and, of course, the media are portraying us. It is wrong, it is unfair, and it is a lie. How many times do you have to watch the videos of these tea parties to realize that these are ordinary adults, mostly middle-age or older, who are genuinely concerned about what Obamacare will do to them. They are concerned about the massive government takeover of power and control over our lives. They are outraged over the all-too-clear government corruption.
And how many violent episodes have you seen in the tea parties? None. A couple of town hall events were marked by scuffling-committed by pro-Obama health care goons from the SEIU. How many riots have broken out at these tea parties? None. How much property damage has been committed? None. How many racist posters have you seen or racist comments have you heard? None. Yet, to hear the left and media describe it, these participants are all from the “lower social orders”. And it is all about President Obama’s race.
That is a lie.
So as for Joe Wilson, as far as I am concerned, he has done the right thing and apologized. I am glad that he has stated that there will be no more apologies; no “sack cloth and ashes” tour for him. The President has accepted his apology, and that is sufficient. Wilson-and the rest of us- should tell Congress and the media to, as they like to say, “move on”.
gary fouse on September 14, 2009 at 8:13 PM
Sorry, that’s simply too logical. It’s a reflection of white man hillbilly hegemony, or something. You see, you need to look under the traditional gender biases and vulgarity of facts and reality. Or something.
Django on September 14, 2009 at 8:17 PM
I want one!! Joe is the conservatives hero right now and so glad he said he wouldn’t bow down to the Dems!
Bullhead on September 14, 2009 at 8:18 PM
AP, you’re a sh$t disturber.
pugwriter on September 14, 2009 at 8:22 PM
Juan Williams just jumped the shark on O’Reilly… said people come up to him “worried about Obama’s safety”.
NEVER criticize a black man or you are RACIST!!!!!!
In all seriousness, their constant charges of racism over anything disagreeing with a person of color is beginning to make the serious charge of racism meaningless.

GOOD FOR JOE!!!
Can I have one!!..: o )
christene on September 14, 2009 at 8:46 PM
I don’t mind.
But, apparently, Allahpundit does. Grow a spine, AP. Have a cup of Joe Wilson and let him enjoy the thanks from his supporting constiuents for standing up for the American people.
Kokonut on September 14, 2009 at 8:47 PM
The Dems can’t defend their actions;so, they just scream RACISM.
mobydutch on September 14, 2009 at 8:48 PM
Allah’s just sadly off-base with this one.
HondaV65 on September 14, 2009 at 8:56 PM
Just announced– Dems to vote on sanctions against Joe Wilson tomorrow. Vote will include some Republicans, too.
mobydutch on September 14, 2009 at 9:02 PM
I’d like one of those autographed pictures. Maybe I’ll check out ebay.
Mangy Scot on September 14, 2009 at 9:23 PM
And he apologizes and tries to ameliorate what he said.
I guess the other one didn’t drop after all…
Dr. ZhivBlago on September 14, 2009 at 10:06 PM
Politicians are people pleasers by habit when in public, except maybe for Pete Stark. If Joe Wilson set up an autograph table, then there might be cause for concern. An isolated incident of people pleasing should not be a bother.
And who was that fellow seeking an autograph with media on the scene? A plant sent to create another 24 hours of the evil Joe story.

If my Republican rep, Ken Calvert, votes for sanctioning Wilson, I will skip voting for him.

Popping off is only objectionable if it hurts our side in public opinion. If not, let it fly.

Just to be clear: Clinton wasn’t impeached for having sex with an intern; he was impeached for lying.
Go Joe!
TN Mom on September 15, 2009 at 12:47 AM
Allah, you’re just as happy as if you were in your right mind. STFU and leave Wilson alone. Concentrate on the real low-lifes that are famous for no reason other than the public’s stupidity.
Mr. Grump on September 15, 2009 at 9:35 AM
Personally, I hope to hear a lot more Republicans start calling out Obama to his face when he lies. THAT is speaking truth to power.
Obama is not our king, and he is not our Dad. It’s okay to talk back.

GO JOE!
(I logged into here just to say that. And I am a very proud, very happy South Carolinian transplant.)
