Quotes of the day

“Obama Derangement Syndrome is establishing itself as a potent political force, able to rally tens of thousands of citizens to the Washington Mall after Glenn Beck’s call. Joe Wilson’s outburst isn’t an embarrassment of incivility to these folks; it is a rallying cry for an army of useful idiots. But Republicans will soon find that they cannot contain or moderate this strain—while Democrats won’t understand what hit them…

Republicans are playing a dangerous game. They are benefitting from all this anger in the short term, but they have tapped into something deep and ugly that they can’t control. Calling the president a communist or even Hitler is something far beyond simple incivility or street theater—it is an accusation that intentionally stirs the crazy pot. It is ultimately an incitement to violence.”

Re. Beck: He worries me a little with some of his extreme rhetoric and the tendency to go off. However, more and more the reality of the situation appears to be conforming to his “extremism.” I also have seen nothing like the froth that his critics claim he oozes in the few times I’ve been able to catch his show. What he’s done in exposing Obama’s czar regime is something for which we all must thank him.

Criticism of him is fine, too, but still plays into the game that Axelrod and Co. like to play, the tactic of taking one Republican to build up as “the leader of the Republicans” and then proceed to excoriate him/her as a nutcase. They did it with Palin, Rush, and have now moved on to Glenn Beck. If you want to offer yourself as tool of the Axelturfers, expect other conservatives to be suspicious.

I for one hope Fox moves Beck to a better time slot. We don’t have DVR and it seems like in California, you have to either be unemployed or a night owl to be able to watch him. I’m one of the fifty people left in the state who still has a job, so that’s not me.

Allah: Great job, at first I thought this came directly from you. Avalon is a piece of work. He reports on the 912 rally while sticking the knife in every other sentence. He then try’s to find the dumbest people he can to make fun of so he can avoid what was really going on.

To me this is a great advertisement for Hot Air. Go read the article and then read the comments at the beast. If your not a lefty or a democrat they will try to verbally skin you alive. They don’t drink the Kool Aid, they fire it straight into their bloodstream. If you don’t agree, off with your head!!

I would love to burn a big papier mache head of Obama and Pelosi.

I agree w/you evergreen, valid criticism of policy/ points is fine, you’re not going to agree with everyone 100%. But dismissing someone from your own party as a nut job, or using the same language as the leftys is playing into their hands. I also dislike the name calling. You sound like a lefty when you have to resort to that.

I’m sorry, but what? Did a Democrat actually have the stones to make such a statement after the rabid anti-BusHitler bullshit that I had to listen to ad nauseum the for about eight years or so? While I agree in principle that our political discourse has devolved substantially, I find it… interesting that someone would blame the GOP for the way things are currently.

It’s like political Bizzaro World. Black is white. Up is down. Joanie doesn’t give a fig about Chachie. I swear that back in the day when I played D&D and someone cast an Alter Reality spell, no one could have dreamed up something this preposterous. And trust me: I played with some guys for whom reality was merely an interesting philosophical concept.

I actually watched Beck.

He is truly bi-polar.

What a nutcase. His support of the 9/12 protests was great, but that’s a case of a stopped clock is at least right twice a day.

He is simply nuts.

My thought might be…

You can only call an individual a sorry, despicable, boney arse, SOB and the unequivocal, unrepentant, destroyer of democracy as we have know it, so many times; before your listeners sense the total lack of depth and reason in your argument and begin to tune out…?

For criticism to have any value; it should be constructive with respect to specific, genuine, legitimate, alternatives to supposed or perceived past or present unacceptable, practice.

WOW…there go all those 20 million listeners…!

The Yakker radio market; is just that a market.
“Red meat for the masses”…

It really has nothing to do with politics, good or bad…
It’s all about being a gold mine, for the purveyors of “True Believer” rhetoric.

I gotta a real kick outta the supposed backlash concerning the President getting’ all “wee-wee’d up” [the other day] about a “jackass” [yesterday]…!

“What’s that “jerk” doin’ intruding into our daily “stock in trade”…!”

“Damn usurper…!”

“Screw him…!”

Really, my dear, you need to stop projecting.

The democrat playbook, once again, back to the 1950′s?

* call them all racist.
* call them all racist.
* call them all nuts, mobs and facists.
* call them evil haters.

* finally, call them all racist.

Facts? not important to the libs.
