ACORN Institute has filed two separate applications with the Commerce Department [for stimulus money]. One in the amount of $3,172,042 and the other in amount of $2,999,903.
The grant description reads as follows:
“The Digital Empowerment Project bridges the digital divide in low-income and minority populations by promoting adoption through grassroots outreach, training participants in computer centers; and providing in-home computers and broadband access. This approach is based on research-driven practices and ensures an efficient and scalable effort to facilitate broadband in disadvantaged populations.”…
As The Examiner has previously reported, ACORN remains eligible for over $8 billion in federal funding through stimulus money and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Meanwhile, Jonah Goldberg enjoys the cosmic irony of ACORN becoming radioactive under “their dream president.” I’ve wracked my brain trying to come up with a devil’s-advocate defense of the group and here’s the pathetic best I can do: Hannah Giles looks like a movie star, which makes her about as convincing a prostitute as Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman.” If that didn’t set off any alarm bells at ACORN, they must not be used to dealing with pimps and their clientele. Good enough? No, not for me either. Incidentally, I’m hearing through the grapevine that there might perhaps, maybe, possibly, perchance be a few videos from her and O’Keefe still to come. Your initial assumption is that people in other parties are liars and racists. Not true.
They are quantifiably and demonstratively liars. Joe Wilson called Obama on it the other night in a rather blatant example – as the health care plan had no provisions to require citizenship for enrollment, nor verification of legal status. Furthermore, an amendment has been added after the fact to confirm that the health care plan is modified to prevent illegals from using it, because before – it was allowed. There have been a dozen reports on this very website of even the MSM getting it – of even the Associated Press saying “well, he’s not telling the truth”. A couple weeks ago there was an NPR story where a leftist talking to the leftist host explained that he was lying – and the comment was made “but he’s such a charming liar”.
Conservatives do go into black neighborhoods. They’re often black themselves. I don’t remember the name of the fellow, but there was a black cop running for congress near Chicago – IIRC against FELON Bobby Rush. He lost with about 3% of the vote.
The reason is that many of these repeat politicians become incredibly entrenched, especially with the use of their voter fraud machines. Anyone from around Chi-Town knows the dead vote, and they vote 10-1 for democrats. Why bother wasting campaign funds against a machine that you can’t win against? The RNC has no reason to throw money down a rathole as a strategy.
The other reason is that the infection of groups like ACORN has destroyed black institutions and made a lot of black communities into welfare-dependant handout-requiring plantations. Yeah, I said f*cking PLANTATION. The power structure knows that if they redirect your outrage at “evil republicans/whites/business owners/asians/hispanics/etc.” and convince you that you’re owed something, then you’ll continue to not make anything of yourself (as a group) and never escape. You keep the people poor, stupid, dependant on government handouts, and maintain a sense of outrage through community organizing, and you demonize anyone who promotes personal responsibility or individual accountability. Your leftist political bosses demonize those with merit who escape as Uncle Toms unless they tow the party line. It’s identity politics, and you’re forbidden to see beyond them.
The cause of your misery is always outwardly directed, never inwardly. It’s always “the system”, but the people in govt. are invariably the Kwame Kilpatricks who then turn your anger at “whites/asians/hispanics/republicans/libertarians/ business owners/fat cats/etc.” – you’re forbidden to see that your emperors have no clothes.
Because they’re made to be so by the leftists, the identity politickers, and the democrats. Those groups benefit from reducing blacks to a collective that can be swayed so easily. If you identify based on skin color, and if your ideology is mandated by your skin color, you’re kept captive and on the PLANTATION (yeah, I said it again) because they know you’ll keep voting for them indefinitely. If they keep you miserable and blame others, they escape the blame while constantly gaining from your suffering.
Note I’ve also used the word PLANTATION (ooh!) because it’s how ACORN is described by members who’ve left. They were exploited by the Rathkes and then realized that it’s all a sale of misery and identity politics designed to make a captive constituency.
As a great majority, they don’t. You’ll always have 1% or so. The Obama Hitler comparisons are most publicly made by LaRouche DEMOCRATS – who are hard-core left.
Obama’s actions are what get him compared. Since you’re still stuck in identity politics and emotions-as-facts mode, you probably can’t understand. Hitler is considered all that is evil, right? Well, the reason Obama is compared to him isn’t because Hitler is evil… it’s because THEY HAVE SIMILAR POLICIES.
Obama has the NEA making propaganda for him. Obama is talking to the children in school (a kerfluffle was made about this in 91 by dems who had senate hearings over HW doing the same). Obama’s mentor was a f*cking terrorist who killed three cops. (Noteably, Officer Waverly Brown was a black cop killed in part by Obama’s political mentor.) Obama’s demeanor is one of entitlement – he scowls and gets angry when he doesn’t get his way – like a petulant dictator – like Hitler.
