Poll: What was the Obamateurism of the Week?

posted at 10:19 am on September 13, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

It’s time again to choose the Obamateurism of the Week, and it’s back to five contenders, or perhaps 115, depending on if you count illegal entries.  Or perhaps it’s 37 entries, if we backtrack on the count without telling anyone why.  No, it’s five entries, and they don’t paint a pretty picture — definitely without a halo, and not an homage to anyone else, either.  Maybe the next set of pictures will include Obama’s dirty look at Joe Wilson, but he’s not into scare tactics — but if you don’t vote in this poll, WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!

Previous “winners”:

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

Don’t you just love it when the lying, yapping, wee weed up person gets in your face and tries to sell you on his argument no matter how circuitous and demented it is?

Don’t you want to just shout, will you please go away?

That dripping sound is the last of Obama’s credibility going down the drain.

I think the best Obamateurisms are the ones where he warns about a tactic his “enemies” are about to use and then, in the same warning, uses the tactic himself, like number 4. Does he realize he is doing it? I think so! The amateurish part is that he believes we won’t catch it!

So hypocritical, such duplicity!

These five gaffes — to use the mildest word — would be enough for any other politician’s career, and Osama Obama racked ‘em up in a single week.

Of course, no other politician has come so far without showing any substance at all.

Can’t vote for any of these examples. I don’t see them as mistakes or fumbles. They’re all deliberate, done by choice, with full knowledge and intent to manipulate.

A gaff or mistake seems to me to imply it was accidental.

Arbitrarily changing the number of uninsured might seem inconsistent, but that’s nothing new with this crowd. They make up facts as they go along, and their statements have a ‘half life’ and ‘expiration date’. Once the statement has outlived it’s intended effect, it no longer counts as consequential, which could be mere minutes later.

Star20 on September 13, 2009 at 10:48 AM

As remarkable as this may seem, this reaction is normal, especially if you are from Illinois, home of the Chicago Democratic Machine.

It seems that it is just a matter of time before people tend to have this exact type of reaction, usually right after they have been bamboozled to vote for the Machine candidate of choice.

From Chicago Mayor Richard “King Shortshanks” Daley, to C(r)ook County President Lil’ Toadie Stroger, to virtually every single member of the Chicago City Council, some presently sitting in office and some presently sitting in jail, all the way to good ol’ B.O., it is just a matter of time before people see that the Machine candidate they voted into office, with all the promises of hope and change (sound familiar?) realize just how stupid they were to vote the dink into office and end up where they can hardly wait for the next election, when they can vote the guy out.

Only problem is that this has been going on in Illinois for a very very very long time, and I don’t see any possibility of it letting up anytime in the near future.

But for now, this is why people have this reaction, and as you can see, B.O. himself is still holding tenaciously to his own political roots, as rotten and as corrupt as they are.

No. And according to Google and Yahoo headlines, no protest happened yesterday in DC.

According to the Washington Post, the total of protesters was only, “Tens of Thousands Protest Obama Initiatives and Government Spending.”

According to others, the crowd topped 1 or 2 million. My guess is that this is going to be yet another point of contention between the MSM and conservatives. The MSM spiking this story and lying about it, while the internet will provide images and video disproving the MSM claims.Michelle has some very nice images and video up.

Ed,

This is one poll where you ought to have an “All Of The Above” selection….

Sometimes, the “WON” makes it very hard to choose.

Et vous devriez montrer plus de respect pour les idiots séniles. Si pas de vous, où vais-je recevoir respect ici?

Ma salive dégouline sur vous!

..not falling for it any more. A couple of weeks ago, I voted for the most ridiculous stunt the Head Fruit Loop pulled and got smoked by all the folks who took the “serious” goof.

From now on, it’s the one with the most “gravitas” for me.

I like the last one best. Pass my crappy bill or people will die, and it will be your fault.

Sure buddy. You are the savior, how could I forget.
