As a conservative I’m encouraged at the sheer number of people who participated in the D.C. demonstration yesterday yet I fear that this momentum will peter out due to a miscalculation of the participants.

Yesterday we possibly just had the biggest march on Washington in the history of the US. There are no signs of anything fizzling out.

I too think that 9/12 was a huge success and will continue to resonate. But we can all worry a little too. It will keep the mind sharp. My concerns are for the elections. It’s clear that entities like ACORN and the SIEU as enforcers, will continue to hijack elections and polling stations. Ultimately, the ballot box is the decider. We need to focus on this threat and fight/outsmart it. Even if ACORN is disgraced, they are a shell organization and like a hydra, another tentacle will take its place and they’ll have our tax dollars to spend against us. Ideas and strategies need to be made. Personally, why can’t we demand that our fingers be dipped like the Iraqis did! Low-tech and foolproof. Ask to require ID and you’re “disenfranchising”. This is the real battle IMHO. I think we’ll make inroads in numbers but will they be counted fairly???

I would have loved to have met some HA people, but didn’t see a one…. or they didn’t see me, I was wearing my Hot Air shirt. Perhaps next year. I think we’ll all be rallying again, I don’t see anyone in this administration doing anything except doubling down.

But, ss long as Obama and the Dems keep clutching our throats, keep ramming the knife deeper into our backs, keep spitting on our faces,, there is little chance of people just giving up.
It’s a little hard to fall back asleep while you are repeatedly being raped.

(Besides, I hope we will have a large contingent of HA folks there–take over a portion of the hotel! A fantasic meet-up!)

This was so good to see–that guy got in the face of those ACORN people! He stayed on them until they felt the pressure and reacted as all ACORN tools reaact Everyone should email this guy and thank him! (His email is at the end of the video) I am going to email him and ask him how many emails he has gotten from around the country!

I was so pleasantly surprised by the moment of NBC evening news coverage as the event was dispursing. By their own count, they estimated hundreds of thousands participants marched together and listened to speeches with the best civility Washington has ever witnessed.

I am so glad I get to say,, “I was there!”
This was the most incredible event I have ever participated in! Walking down Pennsylvania Ave. with all those people! We were singing, there was praying, the pledge of allegiance was said, there was a moment when the entire avenue erupted in a giant shout! It was like a wave that started from the back and slowly moved up the avenue. It was incredible. You could hear this giant shout from behind you moving closer and closer like a wave,, louder and louder and then it just swept over us and everyone just shouted USA and other shouts!
People were so friendly! I was standing on a fountain for a few hours and people were handing me their cameras to shoot pictures of the crowds because of my view! Strangers were greeting each other, people would say excuse me when you bumped into one another, it was like this giant family of people. Almost like a family reunion! Just incredible!

I said almost the exact same words to a friend of mine on the phone today! I’ve never liked crowds, but this one was huge, and everyone was courteous and friendly. It was a great unifying experience.

OT but I really had to laugh at one of the signs I saw at the rally proclaiming the event as a “million mob march.” If people showing up peacefully and protesting their government’s actions, saying the Pledge of Allegience, and listening to speakers is “mob rule” then we need more mobs!
