Somebody needs to wake Matt Drudge up!
bridgetown on September 12, 2009 at 12:51 PM
Good for you, a. I don’t follow his comments closely, but however misguided he may seem at times, he seems to be here in good faith. I don’t see the vitriol and hatred that often comes from lefty posters. So long as he posts honestly, reasonably and in good faith, I say post on, ernesto.
petefrt on September 12, 2009 at 12:51 PM
Don’t bother. They lash out and get personal because they don’t like hearing that the GOP will use their efforts for political gain, rather than policy changes. Now that Obama’s moved the sticks on the deficit, there’s no reason for the GOP to roll it back. I can hear it now, new round of GOP tax cuts in 2013…with the deficit still in the trillions…and with no attempt at paying for it with spending cuts…

OK everyone, cancel the protest, the GOP is only going to give people the shaft again.
Oh, everyone already knows that and pointing it out repeatedly is only pedantic posturing?
Well then, march on!
RedRedRice on September 12, 2009 at 12:52 PM
For decades, Republicans have been dominated by conservatives and conservatives used to be fiscal conservatives. That seems to have changed during the GOP’s last hold on power. And you’re correct, conservatives didn’t do enough to restrain deficit growth.
However, I would say that if Obama has done anything “good,” he’s made it quite clear that social conservative and security conservatives are not going to be able to govern without also being fiscal conservatives. We’ve run out of money.
Loxodonta on September 12, 2009 at 12:52 PM
That is just udder BS! Did you miss the 2006 and 2008 election results? The fact is that this majority Democrat congress (since 2006) and President make the Republican (pre 2006) congress and President (Bush) look like absolute financial misers. You can’t be that obtuse. People now understand we can’t wait until 2010 midterms the voice our opinion because at this pace of destruction there may be nothing left to save.
whbates on September 12, 2009 at 12:52 PM
I cant wait till 1 when Beck starts reporting from there. Im even passing on the Penn St. game to watch.
Of course, the game will be a blowout, PSU will win. ;)

I am very proud of these patriots who are in DC today. It takes courage to do what they are doing. The left wing can no longer stay aloft. It’s leader is an empty suit. He left town due to his cowardice.

How come the link Glenn Reynolds has now shows empty streets in DC, and how come the flag in the photo is at half staff in Reynolds’ screen shot from awhile ago and is at full staff in the supposed “live shot” now?
Reynolds’ link with screen shot:
http://pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/
The same DC street corner as it supposedly looks now, with updates every 2 seconds.
http://www.trafficland.com/city/WAS/camera/9087/index.html
WTF is going on? Are they looping old video to pretend no one is there?
Rational Thought on September 12, 2009 at 12:53 PM
We can always tell the Republican Party to go piss up a tree and form our own party.
Holger on September 12, 2009 at 12:53 PM
If this were McCain trying these power plays (cap and trade, health care reform, Porkulus, etc.) you’d see very much the same reaction. Trust me, Ernesto, America is fed up with big gov’t. It’s been a gradual creep for the past 40-50 years; where Obama blew it was by trying to eat the whole elephant in one bite.

Who watches msnbc besides the kool aid drinkers? I’m surprised they’re even mentioning it at all. I have something like 70 HD channels. Even channels like Lifetime and OLN are in HD. Guess which news channel is not in HD? Yep msnbc. My cable company realizes there’s no point in taking up the bandwidth to broadcast in HD when nobody will watch.

He is of Puerto Rican lineage. His parents are liberal. He has claimed at various times to work at a university and tries to pass off his contrarianism as just a time passer and entertainment. I’m not so sure of that last.
Of course this is the enternet, so he could be 54 year old, overweight Swedish crossdresser sitting around in fully accessorized drag.

The crowds have moved up to the Capitol so I think that’s why it’s empty. My guess is that the flag was at half mast for 9/11, and was rasied to full mast sometime in the last hour or two. I’ve been checking this site all morning so I don’t think anything hinky is going on.
Missy on September 12, 2009 at 12:56 PM
See! Obama HAS brought change! :-)
ernesto on September 12, 2009 at 12:57 PM
Some of antagonistic dishonest smug types should be cheering this on.
And for you to think that the media would not paint this negatively no matter what shows and incredible amount of immaturity and naivete.

Love Drudge, but I’m not the only one who’s noticed that he updates far less than he used to.
Also, my little patriot daughter just sat on the remote and the TV turned to MSNBC. She shouted, “Oh my gosh, Mom, I’m so sorry!”
I have to forgive her: she’s only ten. And she’s my daughter. LOL

d1carter on September 12, 2009 at 1:01 PM
Any estimates on crowd size yet?
fbcmusicman on September 12, 2009 at 1:01 PM
Kinda like the Dems do with y’all, esp the black community? Both parties are doing them a disservice. The Dems take them for granted, and the Repubs just write them off.
The diff here is, we’re fed up with both parties, and if the Repubs go back to the way they were the last several years, they’re going right back home. Some of them have even gotten the idea. I think.
bikermailman on September 12, 2009 at 1:01 PM
That makes you a fool too, BB. This protest is a message to BOTH parties that Americans want smaller government . That is why the RINO’s need to be voted out of office as well as the lefties.
How did you miss this point?
DeweyWins on September 12, 2009 at 1:01 PM
Beck’s in the studio. Is that for the purposes of instruction, or is he afraid to be out in the open? What the heck?
Stupid libs. Disagree with them and they want to off you. That’s their famed love of free speech, yes?

I basically said that. Not necessarily every single word in the same sentance strucuture but basically I said the same thing, basically.
Holger on September 12, 2009 at 1:09 PM
Isn’t pretty easy to estimate crowds these days with satellite images? There’s gotta be a basic formula of X people fit in y sq ft multiplied by how many miles long the crowd is. Why are these things so all over the map each time there is a rally?
angryed on September 12, 2009 at 1:10 PM
I bit the bullet and switched to CNN and MSNBC for a couple minutes.
CNN? Crickets
HLN? Crickets
MSNBC? Planning for Barry’s speach in Minneapolis.
MSNBC DID do a remote from the 9/12 rally. Found the only spot in all of DC with NO ONE outdoors on a nice weekend in September……..
Strange dat. Could not find a single spot to broadcast from that actually showed the rally.
Jim708 on September 12, 2009 at 1:10 PM
My husband and I were at the march–it’s still going on, but we had to leave–and I can’t begin to tell you how amazing it was. Every way you turned, you could not see beyond the sea of patriotic Americans–my heart isn’t big enough to contain the pride I felt, and feel. God save our Republic.
DrMagnolias on September 12, 2009 at 1:10 PM
txag92:
Don’t forget that a lot of that depends on the voters themselves and not everyone is a libertarian. The truth is a conservative Democrat in a state like Oklahoma might very well be more conservative than a moderate Republican from Maine, because that is the way the voters are. To some extent these folks mirror their districts.
I think the Republicans should win in 2010 just so we can get rid of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. They are such a disgrace. That means that some of those blue dogs might go by the wayside just so people can changed the leadership of the House. Nancy Pelosi is the most despised woman in America right now.
Terrye on September 12, 2009 at 1:10 PM
Oh, that’s funny. After the election, I removed the channel that has MSNBC from the remote so if I am just surfing up or down, I don’t accidentally come upon it.
Jvette on September 12, 2009 at 1:10 PM
Glenn Beck was supposed to be ther–wonder why? Is he really worried about his safety? He is going after ACORN and SEIU now…Jim, at Gateway Pundit thought he would be there.

Watch tonight for the “no number” crowd descriptions;
“A large number of protesters…”
“A group of angry…”
“Washington was crowded with demonstrators today…”
This is how they’ll spin it.
It’ll also be anti-Obama, not anti-over-reach.
