WE Won ! We Won! Nananana boo boo! Thumbs nose at everyone and then pulls his wedgie!
He’s really not acting any differently than the President. Very childish immature bunch in the White House. We knew they were sore losers and now we know they’re sore winners too!

The only reason the Left has won anything is because of the MSM protecting their charge, Barack Obama. Without the protection he would be go down in flames in a matter of weeks. (And he never would have been a serious candidate for president.) I was once a liberal and thought they stood for something decent. I have been thoroughly freed of that notion.
mbabbitt on September 13, 2009 at 2:25 AM
I’m not stupid, and neither are the conservatives who attend these rallies, there are deeper and darker elements of American society and culture that are driving these rallies, someone on the right just needs to admit it.
StoneKrab on September 12, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Deeper and darker elements of American society? Hmmm, yes, I think I see what you mean. Things like faith and family? Or, maybe capitalism and free enterprise? How about private industry and private property?
You make me laugh, young crabcakes.

I was watching CSPAN today and they were showing O’s speech to his robot in MN, but I didn’t see their coverage of the protest.
They all looked like robots. He was talking about health care (duh) and these are college kids going crazy and hooping and hollering over this stuff. Just mindless cheering. If he had read his laundry list they would have gone nuts.
He was in front of 15,000 screaming bots and he looked pissed it sounded like a campaign stop, but he didn’t look like he did back then.
The sleeping giant was the millions of people duped into voting for this guy. How many of these people voted for Obama?
The more the better. I hope a lot of liberals were in that crowd. And in the crowds all over the country; maybe they can see that republicans and american-loving conservatives aren’t so crazy after all.

It’s now 1:32 am here on the west coast where Fox New programming can be downright disgusting. Geraldo Rivera is doing his best at kissing Obama’s program of government healthcare by playing the race card, not once, but twice during this one segment. Ann Coulter and Governor Huckabee are verbally castrating Rivera and his “fair and balanced” leftward guest that are making the claim that the thousands that turned out for the tea parties this weekend only represent 20% of the nation. Rivera reads from an LA Times op-ed that claims these protesters are made up of “angry white folk”.
Rivera comes on after a break and actually reads from an emailer that says, “Rivera, your suggestion that Joe Wilson’s outburst was a racist statement against Obama has no place in this argument, and Ann Coulter is right, this is something she would expect from a host at MSNBC.”
The only thing I can say right now concerning Rivera, is “Mr. Rivera, you are an embarrassment to the human race. And your ridiculous claim that people in this nation that are sick of paying their hard earned tax dollars to subsidize 12 million illegal immigrant’s healthcare is some how “racist” is just that—RIDICULOUS! You, sir, are an idiot and so is every politician that makes this ludicrous argument about RACE. This attempt of our government to take control of our healthcare industry IN NOT ABOUT YOUR FRIGGIN’ RACE. It’s about every U.S. citizen of this great nation fed up with their government representatives turning a blind eye and breaking the rule of law. You don’t like the current laws Mr. Rivera? Change them through the process that makes our laws.”
Rant over……
(Fox News should really consider getting rid of this moron–I’m sure MSNBC and their liberal minions would welcome him with open arms.)
Rovin on September 13, 2009 at 5:33 AM
This is a typical statement that’s coming from the left that are losing an argument and have reached the end of any sensible debate. Admit it, StonerKrab, you’re losing the debate and these childish race statements show how desperate and stupid liberals have become.

During the night (I just couldn’t sleep) I was reading and posting on the (don’t laugh, damnit!) Washington Post site regarding this event for awhile, until I noticed that the Leftists posting there didn’t have a single argument, and instead were just flinging epithets like:
KKKers
John Birchers
Old White Folks
Crackers
etc. etc. etc.
And I suddenly realized that – while it’s not pissing in the wind to post there – the only sensible response to the Left (whether the Antique Media, Leftist posters, whomever) is to
point out what a bunch of sad sacks and losers these people are,
to mindlessly attack Democrats, Republicans, Independents and Libertarians – in short, plain and simple English – to attack all Americans.
They are isolating themselves even more.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the moment of NBC evening news coverage as the event was dispursing. By their own count, they estimated hundreds of thousands participants marched together and listened to speeches with the best civility Washington has ever witnessed.
Witness on C-SPAN: YOU ALL WERE THE BEST CROWD EVER! (Event to rerun in full on C-SPAN 2 tomorrow, Monday 8pm) God Bless Y’All.
Geez, Obama ran out of town to Snoopy Land, afraid of citizens speaking from 50 states for him and Congress to hear in D.C.!

I am so glad I get to say,, “I was there!”
This was the most incredible event I have ever participated in! Walking down Pennsylvania Ave. with all those people! We were singing, there was praying, the pledge of allegiance was said, there was a moment when the entire avenue erupted in a giant shout! It was like a wave that started from the back and slowly moved up the avenue. It was incredible. You could hear this giant shout from behind you moving closer and closer like a wave,, louder and louder and then it just swept over us and everyone just shouted USA and other shouts!
People were so friendly! I was standing on a fountain for a few hours and people were handing me their cameras to shoot pictures of the crowds because of my view! Strangers were greeting each other, people would say excuse me when you bumped into one another, it was like this giant family of people. Almost like a family reunion! Just incredible!

I have been saying for the longest time Dems ignore the voters at their own peril. If they ‘Rahm’ anything that appears to be socialistic, they (the Dems) will find themselves in a minority for a long time.

From my politics blog: here’s some more on the Rifqa Bary case, assuming you know about it. Has Hot Air given this any mention? I haven’t seen it in discussion here, even in the headlines section. Could you please add your voice to the list of supporters for Rifqa?
From my comics blog: Paul Levitz has resigned as publisher of DC Comics, but there’s reasons why I’m not disappointed to see him step down.
And, from my game blog: the GI Joe movie may have been bad, but check out this recording I put here of Konami’s video game from 1992, which is much more fun than the movie will ever be!

RepubChica on September 13, 2009 at 11:48 AM
About to leave my hotel in Arlington, VA.
Conclusion:
1) The Giant is awakened, and the battle is full-blown against Obamacare, Cap and Trade, etc. The movement is HUGE, and turnout was higher than expected. It appears it was the largest march in DC in history.
2) Joe Wilson is getting more money to his coffers than his opponent. I talked to people around the Capitol building on Thursday and Friday who visited his office in one of the side buildings and let him know he was right on, one gentleman who shook his hand and gave him encouraging words.
3) Based on the reaction to my Sarah Palin poster, she was the most photographed person the whole day, and the Tea Partiers love her. Many people hoped she would be able to make a surprise visit, but the rumor is that she is still working on her book with Lynn Vincent in San Diego (where I bbelieve Vincent lives). She was outed apparently when Piper Palin was playing in the apartment swimming pool and told someone she met that her name was Piper and she has a brother named Trigg. Ah, the innocence of babes.
4) Very few if any counterprotesters noticed. I only noticed one.
5) The Movement might help the GOP to get their courage back and openly and aggressively fight ANY attempts to use healthcare reform to enlarge the federal government.
6) For those of you who remember the commenter here named Manly Rash, I got to meet him at Bullfeathers the day before the march and we went to hang out outside Walter Reed where people marched to support the troops at the hospital.
7) Great people, totally grassroots, rally of a lifetime.

Ageee wholeheartedly. Next to the day I found Christ (really vice-versa) and the day I got married, this was one of the best days of my life. Whatever the outcome to the country, when my grandchildren ask me about the freedoms we enjoy or used to enjoy, I will tell them about I was in DC for this march — the day America spoke back to socialists and fascists in our government. It was an awesome event.
And let me quote another American patriot:
“We have not yet begun to fight.”
Christian Conservative on September 13, 2009 at 12:34 PM
From the Declaration of Independence…
I’m not very articulate so please excuse me. My hope is that I can make myself understood and that other conservatives can help develop and spread this message.
As a conservative I’m encouraged at the sheer number of people who participated in the D.C. demonstration yesterday yet I fear that this momentum will peter out due to a miscalculation of the participants. Please let me explain…
I’ve watched with interest previous attempts at conservative protest and activism and unfortunately my observation is that almost no one counts the actual cost of defending the constitution. I mean this in personal terms.
Whether it is the time involved in coordination for maximum impact, the personal treasure needed to finance the movement, the willingness to put one’s personal safety in jeopardy, or the willingness to take appropriate physical action when all other means have been exhausted, I don’t feel that the conservative movement realizes just what is necessary to affect the desired change. Even now I don’t feel that there is the required passion.
So yes I’m hopeful but at the same time I believe that many in the conservative movement have gravely underestimated the cost. And, unfortunately many aren’t willing to ultimately pay what it will cost. Unless yesterday’s demonstration is followed up, with ever increasing demands followed up by the appropriate force, then it is all for naught. Am I calling for physical violence? Well, no not really. However, anyone who’s even seriously considered the cost at all would conclude that it may be necessary.
Like I alluded to earlier, if true conservatives are going to put government back where it belongs then it will require much more than what was displayed yesterday. Where were the House and Senate Republicans yesterday? Why weren’t they at the capital building enmass with the people? Their absence concerns me because it speaks to a lack of organization and lack of allies.
In my view this movement is still trying to figure out who the allies are, the leaders are, and how much they’re willing to spend to get the job done.
My great hope is that there are more Americans every day who are sober-mindedly considering the cost and pledge to themselves that they will pay it whatever the outcome.

thanks for your insight. If you read David Mcculloch’s book “1776″ you’ll clearly see that the Revolutionary War was largely unpopular, on the verge of being lost continuously, suffered personnel, supply, political shortages and was carried on by the efforts of a near minority of people, amongst whom were living Tories and British Loyalists.
Hence, your sentiments are correct. We will have to continue to do what is right, and pledge our lives, our honor and our fortunes as men such as Washington and Jefferson or Adams did. It is only posterity that will judge whether we are correct or not. For many of these men died without ever knowing how great this nation would ever become. Now it is our turn, to engage and seize upon the opportunity before us–the preservation of this nation for our children, and for children to be born 230 years from now. How will they remember us? What shall we write, and what shall we do that will commit us to memory? What Delaware do we need to cross, what guns from Ticonderoga do we need to drag across frozen lakes, what camp needs to be raided, what corruption needs uncovered, what fight needs to be fought, and what government needs to be overturned and “new guards” established? For those are the questions we must ask, the answers we must provide–and, following that, history will decide for itself, whether or not we chose correctly.

Pardon me if I don’t read all 17 pages of comments.
I notice what I consider a gigantic discrepancy in some of these numbers. I read some people saying: there were about 50,000 people and some other saying 1,500,000 to 2,000,000. Are crowd estimation methods so inaccurate? How could anyone mistake 50,000 for 1,500,000, or 2,000,000 for 100,000? These numbers are nothing like each other. They’re orders of magnitude different. Plus, if a rally is filling up the Mall in DC, that’s a LOT more than 50,000 people.

You have great comments as usual. I will certainly re-read them again.
A thought just occured to me. The government and media is trying to ignore or misrepresent yesterday’s display. So, my thought is how can the movement actually be ‘felt’ instead of just seen or heard?
Felt in a way that the physical presence can’t be ignored. My thought is that every display should try and maximize inconvenience to the target’s time and routine. Yesterday inconvenienced no one except the participants.
Perhaps if the inconvenience was large enough and of sufficient duration then it simply would be impossible to ignore it?
Time is short so I would be interested in some brainstorming or better yet actual experience on this.

DG:
Try as they might, can’t ignore the largest protest in American history.
There will be second and third order effects. The first order effects are the reporting or lack thereof surrounding the event.
Second order effects are going to the blog wave that has begun soon after the event is over and people begin posting their pictures and video. That’ll spark other stories that will begin to shape the event into more detail.
Third order effects are going to be the grannies or young person who runs for office, unseats someone previously deemed undefeatable in some district. Moreover, now there will be more open and sustained challenges to bias, liberalism, socialism in every venue–elementary schools, universities, government and everywhere. Alas there will be legions of infantry ready to do battle and post it on youtube for the hypocrisy to be seen writ large.
there will be effects, large, medium and small but effects that will carry the momentum of this mountain forward. It’ll crash on the capitol, the white house, and everywhere else across the US. It is so large, amorphous and far reaching we will never know what further effects it will have.
ted c on September 13, 2009 at 1:51 PM
No offense Ted, but there are much better books on the subject than anything written by McCulloch who tends to psychoanalyze the key actors using contemporary standards. That isn’t good scholarship although it makes for entertaining reading. For some context, I’d recommend The Long Fuse that starts with the widely different perspectives the British and Americans viewed their role in the empire and how that ultimately lead to a clash of visions.

just kiddin’– thanks for the tip, haven’t heard of that book but you’re probably right. Either way, I love to illuminate how liberals have tried to redefine “disagreement” as “hate speech.”

My friend, that brought some tears to my eyes. God bless!

Only since the filthy liar took office. When GWB was in office, dissent was patriotic and noble. Calling the President a liar was a sign of a healthy democracy. Nowdays, we any dissent is evil.
OT but I really had to laugh at one of the signs I saw at the rally proclaiming the event as a “million mob march.” If people showing up peacefully and protesting their government’s actions, saying the Pledge of Allegience, and listening to speakers is “mob rule” then we need more mobs!

Really? That’s the best sentence you can put together mocking someone else’s grammar?

Tim Jones vs ACORN video…..”The truth is far more important.” Like you, we must continue to get in their faces or we will lose.

I said almost the exact same words to a friend of mine on the phone today! I’ve never liked crowds, but this one was huge, and everyone was courteous and friendly. It was a great unifying experience.

Tell us more Sapwolf. I want to know if it is the LARGEST march in DC history.
What is the record so far?

Stop fearing that. Keep fearing Obama.
Honestly,, ever since the first Tea Party I have listened to people say how much they were fearing all of this will just fizzle out. It’s not fizzling out. Yesterday we possibly just had the biggest march on Washington in the history of the US. There are no signs of anything fizzling out.
It’s OK to keep encouraging people to keep it up. But, ss long as Obama and the Dems keep clutching our throats, keep ramming the knife deeper into our backs, keep spitting on our faces,, there is little chance of people just giving up.
It’s a little hard to fall back asleep while you are repeatedly being raped.

I am still thrilled by the events of yesterday! I worked all night the night before (friday into saturday morning), and I was so pumped, excited, and overwelmed by this historic event, that I didn’t go to bed untill after 5pm saturday! Reading comments from those of you that were there–it just makes my heart swell, and tears come to my eyes. I’m so proud of you all that made it there, and I’m proud of my fellow patriots here who couldn’t go but were there in spirit.
This is our moment in time, THIS IS OUR HISTORY IN THE MAKING. We must fight for those who come behind us–as the first patriots did in 1778.
I have lived through the Civil Rights Movement, the American Indian Movement, the Woman’s Lib Movement, and the VietNam War Movement. This “Take Back Our Country” Movement, is by far the most important event in my life.
I am just so damn proud right now…and have never loved my country, and my countrymen more!

This was so good to see–that guy got in the face of those ACORN people! He stayed on them until they felt the pressure and reacted as all ACORN tools reaact Everyone should email this guy and thank him! (His email is at the end of the video) I am going to email him and ask him how many emails he has gotten from around the country!

Did any of the HotAir folks meet each other while in D.C.?
Cindy Munford on September 13, 2009 at 9:05 PM
Truer words were never spoken! Patriots Unite! NEXT YEAR’S MARCH WILL BE EVEN BIGGER! They ain’t seen nothing yet! Can you imagaine how much more p*ssed off we will all be NEXT YEAR???? (Besides, I hope we will have a large contingent of HA folks there–take over a portion of the hotel! A fantasic meet-up!)
lovingmyUSA on September 13, 2009 at 9:06 PM
I would have loved to have met some HA people, but didn’t see a one…. or they didn’t see me, I was wearing my Hot Air shirt. Perhaps next year. I think we’ll all be rallying again, I don’t see anyone in this administration doing anything except doubling down.

Dang, I was hoping for some good stories of a meet-up!
lovingmyUSA on September 13, 2009 at 10:05 PM
Well it certainly is easy to see how you might not find each other in that crowd. I look forward to stories and pictures, it looked great.

Has anyone posted any pictures of the DC Metro crammed-full trains from the 9-12 protest?
sandspur on September 13, 2009 at 10:39 PM
I too think that 9/12 was a huge success and will continue to resonate. But we can all worry a little too. It will keep the mind sharp. My concerns are for the elections. It’s clear that entities like ACORN and the SIEU as enforcers, will continue to hijack elections and polling stations. Ultimately, the ballot box is the decider. We need to focus on this threat and fight/outsmart it. Even if ACORN is disgraced, they are a shell organization and like a hydra, another tentacle will take its place and they’ll have our tax dollars to spend against us. Ideas and strategies need to be made. Personally, why can’t we demand that our fingers be dipped like the Iraqis did! Low-tech and foolproof. Ask to require ID and you’re “disenfranchising”. This is the real battle IMHO. I think we’ll make inroads in numbers but will they be counted fairly???

I do have lots of pics, even some short video. Not sure how to share them… I’m not terribly good at all the technical stuff. My husband did recently open a facebook account for me…
