Thanks, Ed.

Looking strong so far. Is there going to be any tv coverage? Did someone say CSPAN
catlady on September 12, 2009 at 12:03 PM
For everyone one person actually there, there are probably thousands wishing they could be but can’t.
Loved the sign that said,
“You didn’t hear us. Can you see us NOW?”
Jvette on September 12, 2009 at 12:04 PM
Lyin’ gibbs said they don’t know anything about this. They are about to find out.
VegasRick on September 12, 2009 at 12:05 PM
CSPAN coverage at 1:00 PM
Fox coverage now, I believe.

I was at Promise Keepers “Stand in the Gap” in October 1997 which drew approximately 1,500,000 Christian men to Washington D.C. to pray for America.
Break that record!!
Amendment X on September 12, 2009 at 12:05 PM
CNN is covering this live on the internet – and it’s a good stream with audio.
I think we should support CNN today – give them a taste of what real ratings look like when they do the right thing.
HondaV65 on September 12, 2009 at 12:05 PM
Thanks, Ed. Brian Wilson is hosting this hour on Fox and then Beck takes over for three hours! This will be a truly historic day.
kingsjester on September 12, 2009 at 12:05 PM
I would have loved to there, but with a senior in college and now a freshman, there just isn’t money in the budget for it.
I am there in spirit though and figure, I’ll be working so in a way, I’m holding down the fort.
Jvette on September 12, 2009 at 12:05 PM
I’m one of those people who SO wishes she were there!
:)
Talk about giving me HOPE again! I’m loving this turnout!
Thank You All who are there!!!!!!

Well, that’s a nice thought, but they are late to the ‘party’ and I’m sure their coverage will turn negative..
bridgetown on September 12, 2009 at 12:06 PM
There are somewhere north of 500k people outside your office.
They’ve been coming by bus, car, and train for at least 10 days.
Your paid astroturfers have been aware of this for months.
You claim no knowledge of the event, or the groups that have been promoting it?
massrighty on September 12, 2009 at 12:07 PM
That’s scary. If Gibbs and this White House didn’t know about all these teaparty folks marching on D.C. – when it’s been broadcasted all over and the “chatter level” has been through the roof …
Then how can we feel safe they’ll know about a pending terrorist attack which is much less publicized?
Freaks.

1.5 MILLION AT TODAY’S RALLY.
500,000 MORE THAN CAME TO O’S INAUGURATION!
A friend called me after the announcement was made. Details are HERE.

I’m annoyed at Fox (and CNN) who are billing this as a march “against health care reform”. We’re not against reform, we’re against the Democrats craptastic proposals!

Emily M. on September 12, 2009 at 12:16 PM
There’s going to be a Tea Party at City Hall in an East County community near where I live in San Diego today at 2:00pm. I will be attending along with many of my friends and colleagues.
My 16-yr old son asked if he could go too. I said ‘Of course!’ He makes me proud :)
I so wish we could have gone to today’s event in D.C., right smack-dab on the steps of our nation’s capital… and just a stone’s throw from Congress and Barack Hussein Obama’s window.

A counter protester on #912dc just said, “Privileged white people are throwing a tantrum that there’s a black man in the White House” and I know it shouldn’t ever surprise me to read that tripe, yet, it always does.
It will always astonish me that there are actual individuals in this world that live lives so completely antithetical to reason. I guess a simpler way to explain it is insanity.

I’ve been only half paying attention, but are these soundbites for Geraldo?
Buy Danish on September 12, 2009 at 12:19 PM
True, but I would hope GOP fiscal responsibility/leadership might also come in for some criticism. Equal opportunity broadside. I wish the party leadership hadn’t been allowed to speak.
a capella on September 12, 2009 at 12:19 PM
Fox reported earlier 10s of thousands. Sometimes I wonder whose side Fox is on, why don’t they report the truth? There appear to be a lot more than 10s of thousands, based only on the web cam. Unbelievable. I heard it again, 10s of thousands from Brian Wilson. Again, I heard it again. Un-freakinbelievable.
immigrantchick on September 12, 2009 at 12:19 PM
Me too! We could have met up, too. That would have been fun to meet with other HA commenters.
Diane on September 12, 2009 at 12:19 PM
Just about to head out. Will be interesting to see how much they fill up the mall.
I’m not buying the 1.5 million from what I have seen so far. The big antiwar march about three to four years drew about 3-400K and you couldn’t move anywhere. Obama’s inauguration was a massive sea of people that basically shut down the city. But I am not making any final decisions until I see for myself. See you later.

Some day, at CNN and elsewhere, you won’t be able to find anyone who supported Obama. These people will always be dangers to freedom, because they’re susceptible to anything, but that was always the case. We shouldn’t have forgotten that.

Fox just said “10s of thousands” again.
Jim Demint is correcting them now.
Also pointed out it’s not just “anti-tax.”
DeMint is doing a good job of making the point that it’s about all of the over-reaching, lecturing, and gov’t not listening.

It doesn’t matter what the media says.
Look at the number of people there.
Imagine the numbers of us who Want to be there, but aren’t.

For every protester there, I wonder how many people are at home, following along and wishing they could go.
