Zelaya….what a tradgedy.

This administration has done nothing to blunt the slide of Latin America into a very dangerous orbit of crypto commies and jihadist regimes.

The sad truth is that Obama and his camp share the core beliefs of our enemies. The only basis for disagreement is one of degree, not substance.

They’re probably complaining because there is no overt method to Ogabe’s economic decisions, other nations have no idea if what was decided by him today is a trend or if he will repeal it tomorrow or a week from now.

I’d be complaining too; Ogabe can do a lot of damage with his stupidity.

Not to worry….when China asks Obama what kind of a monthly payments he can afford, the particulars will be spelled out in the financing paperwork at the back.

Just because you don’t know about it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Before talk radio and the internet, if Uncle Walter and his counterparts at the other two networks didn’t tell us about it, it may as well not have happened. And if they lied to us about it, their lies became accepted as the truth.

They really want to go back to those days.

I follow China fairly closely and I suggest we will see a very aggressive response. China is attempting to walk a very thin line as it teeters closer to the brink than many may realize. The reported economic numbers are bogus and China remains largely dependent on exports to fund its growth and to maintain the system. The last thing China wants to see is growing global protectionism.

My guess is Hill will be packing her bags in the very near future for a long trip to the carpet.

The dumbass in the White House is willing to place the whole country at economic peril to payback a union. A huge dump of Treasury notes and bonds would have severe consequences.

ICBM on September 12, 2009 at 12:40 AM

I think China has been running a Ponzi scheme.

Very much so. The problem is one of accounting and securitization. Poor accounting standards (if at all) and securitization has allowed China to transfer some of the risk overseas while availing themselves to capital streams. This is a massive bubble of epic proportions.

As a precondition to admittence to the WTO, China was required to bring down its massive number of non performing loans. In a manner of speaking, this was accomplished with the flash of a pen. Many banks simply did an equity swap in which the loans suddenly were transfered into the asset side of the ledger when the loans were exchanged for equity in the failing companies (many state owned enterprises or SOEs). Magic!

It should give everyone pause to learn that journalists have been jailed and newspapers shuttered for reporting on corporate corruption and bogus economic numbers and pie in the sky corporate balance sheets.

andy85719 on September 12, 2009 at 12:35 AM

Actually I don’t expect that either. China has significant exposure and would be harmed by any efforts to dump the dollar. However, they’ve been saying for 18 months or so that they are not going to be buying US treasuries at the same levels because they understand that the US is going to monetize the debt. Instead, China is working out straight currency exchange agreements without dollar conversions. Also they are pushing for a new global currency as well as plowing mucho Yuan into commodities.

ICBM on September 12, 2009 at 12:55 AM

True. However, the global instability caused by a trade war and the creation of a alternate currency system will cause serious market instability. They better be careful. If they reveal their internal instabilities, the global economy will be shocked and collapse. All that money that American and European investment banks have poured into China will not be recovered. The banks will collapse and it will be nasty. I’m really worried for the Chinese people. They are going to starve with a trade war. They have destroyed so much farm land that they can’t feed the people. Now they have stabbing attacks by separatist groups.

China has been buying the rights to large amounts of energy supplies……everything from Canadian oil sands to oil rights in Africa…We’ve reached Hubbert’s Peak. Unfortunately, windmills, solar and all of the other crap doesn’t amount to squat in terms of energy production. Moreover, the enviro-statists want to limit our ability to use the one resource we have in abundance, coal.

The only way the whole green energy agenda makes sense is if Obama can significantly drive up the cost of energy. It is coming, economy be damned.

Acorn did play a heavy role and will continue playing a heavy role in rallying the disenfranchised every election.

Afrolib on September 11, 2009 at 10:48 PM

Oh…sure they do. What? With their illegal voter registrations?

Can’t you get it through your thick skull that each and every time your buddies at Acorn do something illegal vis-a-vis elections or in any other matter, it reflects badly upon all of the African-Americans in this country? (And if you consider that to be a racist statement, then so be it. I refuse to apologize for the truth. I am not responsible for the ignorant…dare I say it?…stupid behavior of Acorn that reflects so negatively upon those they profess to be helping. Haven’t you ever heard the old adage, “Bad morals corrupt good company?”)

Why is it so difficult for liberals like you to comprehend that Acorn is not doing you any favors? They are in it for the big bucks. And they don’t care what it takes, the lies they have to tell, the documents they have to forge, the laws they have to break, or who they have to hurt in the process. All they care about is their billion dollar pay day.

Who are you trying to convince by spouting your liberal garbage? Yourself? Stop insulting my intelligence. I grew up in the civil rights era of Martin Luther King. I know all about being “disenfranchised.” From personal experience, I know about the riots and gunfire, with both whites and blacks being killed for the cause of freedom. I know all about entire city blocks of homes and businesses being broken into and burned to the ground.

Afrolib, spout your lies if you care to, but you’ll never convince me. You didn’t walk in my shoes. You didn’t live in fear the way I did, not knowing if a bullet would end my life. You weren’t there! And you don’t speak for me, my family or my friends.

You and the rest of your Acorn-loving, Obama-snorting, liberal whack jobs demean the intelligence and spirit of every black person who valued and cherished their right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in the 1960′s, whether in my own family or those of my friends. I was there and I know what it was like. Stop trying to re-write history to fit your liberal delusions.

The only reason there are “disenfranchised voters” today, is because they won’t take the time to (1) register to vote; (2) study the candidates and the issues; and (3) actually vote. For example:

I live in a State that allows voting by mail. It’s so simple, you could do it in your sleep. The Board of Elections even provides a return envelope with a stamp.

The largest city in our county has a majority black population with a black mayor. There are well over 200,000 people in the county. This past Tuesday was the Democrat mayoral primary; five candidates on the ballot for mayor. In addition, this county went overwhelmingly for Obama in 2008, with a huge number of first-time black voters who were signed up by Acorn.

Given the above information, I’ll bet you’re thinking that the voter turnout for the primary this week was huge in support of the popular incumbent black mayor, especially given the proximity to last year’s election. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. The voter turnout was less than 10% of the registered voters! Yet in November 2008, the turnout was almost 100% in the black community, with about a 98% vote for Obama.

Yes, the incumbent carried the day this past Tuesday, but that’s not my point. My point is in reference to your comment about Acorn rallying the disenfranchised voters in every election. Sure, Acorn was a strong presence in our county and rallied the black vote in 2008. I thought it was terrific that so many people voted. I applaud them for voting, even though I did not support Obama.

But why didn’t these same black residents vote this week in the primary? More to the point, where was Acorn to protect these voters from being “re-disenfranchised” by the evil and sneaky conservatives?

If Acorn is all about “rallying the disenfranchised voters at every election,” then why didn’t they show up month’s before the county’s primary election, or even one week before? Why were the disenfranchised voters of 2008 somehow less important in 2009? Could it possibly be Acorn pulled a vanishing act this year because they weren’t getting paid to help?

In closing, Afrolib, you’re a fool if you believe Acorn is all about helping disenfranchised voters. I have seen with my own eyes, in my own hometown, what a totally fraudulent organization Acorn truly is. I have seen how they use and abuse black residents in order to pad Acorn’s bank account. I have seen how they gather and file forged signatures on voter registration forms.

Acorn is rotten from the top down and bottom up, and they’re finally being exposed to disinfecting sunlight.

I have to disagree. The only time I’ve witnessed Obama’s sheer honest gleefulness was when he very, very enthusiastically bowed to the Saudi king or prince or whatever the hell the guy was.

Thanks, Buckaroo. I am so weary of these lib-trolls spouting off about things they know nothing about.

They really do need to stick with Huff Po or DailyKos where they can roll around in the slop with their own kind.

Cheers!

Well I was just glad that CNN even MENTIONED the story this morning I was shocked. Going “WOW!” CNN finally talked about it.

Beck as of now ABC RADIO NEWS DID MENTION THE ACORN STORY and pointed out that Acorn has been severed from the Census.

Glenn Beck has SAVED US FROM THE ACORN CENSUS. That is his GREATEST VICTORY!

Is it me or is Foxnews now becoming our Globovision (Venzuela’s last and only non-Chavez backing station)??? It was clear that everytime Obama mentions something like “Don’t listens to those tv stations that mislead you, blah blah blah…” that he CLEARLY means Foxnews…. Very similar to his bud Hugo, except Hugo at least calls them out by name and is real clear about his socialist agenda… If only the Obama Admin and the Media would stop hiding under the falsehoods and just come out with the truth about their agendas…

I’m convinced now that they are planting the seeds of slowly converting this country into a Socialist state under the guise of Democracy.
Time to start looking at property in Columbia if that happens!

IMHO, I don’t think it’s time yet for Obama to come out with the truth of his plans. Unless he is somehow stopped in his tracks, I predict that by this time next year (before the 2010 mid-terms) we will no longer recognize our once free country. I’ve thought of all kinds of ways this could possibly happen, none of which are very pleasant, to say the least.

As far as the media having an agenda in line with Obama, I think the day-to-day newscasters are obviously showing their liberal biases, but someone higher up on the food chain is dictating content to the talking heads. Could be some of the “big boys” in the media are working together with Obama in some sort of nefarious scheme to destroy our country, but I doubt even they are 100% aware of Obama’s plans to socialize the USA.

Of course, all the above is conjecture on my part, but with each passing day it sure is looking more and more plausible.

I’m very concerned that the people in remote areas of flyover country aren’t going to respond well to the loss of their freedoms. At the rate things are going, it might not take much to set off another civil war across the USA.

GrannyDee on September 12, 2009 at 3:06 AM

People of China no longer have enough food to eat, start eating each other. Mass slaughters.

Not such a bad thing really, I love Chinese food.

By the time Obama gets finished with the USA, we won’t have a Bill of Rights either. Or a Constitution. Or much of anything else for that matter.

Living in Antarctica would probably be better than our country under another three years of the Big O.

GrannyDee on September 12, 2009 at 3:19 AM

I agree with you GrannyDee…
It’s clearly the way it’s heading. Just imagine it, if the right-wingers win you can expect a hardline military/police state ala the Franco in Spain. If the leftists win you can expect soup lines, community watchdogs like in Cuba and Van Jones becoming the Reperations CZAR.

And people really wonder why Guns sales are through the roof right now.

after the crappy week they’ve had, i expect them to simply be in “trying to wish it all away” mode — and sadly the lll networks will help with that — but as they are slipping into the dustbin of history, it’s no big deal
[!!]

Buckaroo on September 12, 2009 at 3:22 AM

Hey, DRod.

Right-wingers…HA! Don’t even get me started.

Leftists…grr.

I used to think Libertarians were kooks. Not so sure about that anymore. Made up my mind yesterday that I’m changing my voter registration to Independent.

No need to tell me about guns. I took lessons. Sharpshooter. Not afraid to pull the trigger, nor is my husband. If it ever came down to me or thee, which do you think would be left standing? My house…my rules.

Sounds paranoid, but been giving a lot of thought to stocking up on basic supplies. I wasn’t at all panicked when New Year’s 2000 was approaching and everyone was predicting dire things happening. But this…the O pRez…that’s a whole other thing. Sounds crazy. I know. And I’m not a conspiracy theorist.

I can’t explain my feelings. Something down deep inside…

(Ignore any typos. It’s late.)

GrannyDee on September 12, 2009 at 3:27 AM

Buckeroo, I like that “the dustbin of history.”

Do you think Joe Wilson will cave next week and offer an apology to House?

On why Colombia…
-Their Government clearly recognizes the threat of communism and politically wipes their asses with neighboring pricks like Chavez, Correa, Ortega and Morales.
-Totally wrecked their own terrorist enemies (FARC) and exposed their ties to Chavez/Correa. No divided support for the effort (at least much more united then here -IMO)
-Uribe has always supported this country and our values. He’s a class act.
-It alot closer to Miami than New Zealand/Australia for me
-My verbal Spanish will allow me to survive (even though my Forrest Gump-like reading skills means I’ll have a meaningless career).
Nothing major, just makes more sense based on my own situation that’s all.

As I write this, the 9/12 protest does not appear on Yahoo news, and the following are the top news stories on Google:

Obamacare: 14,716 news articles
9/11 panic on Potomac: 1,466 news articles
World’s oldest person dies at age 115: 571 news articles

And when I search Google news for 9/12, I get 99 news articles, not all of them about the 9/12 project, 9/12 tea party or 9/12 protest.

I guess nobody’s going. And if anybody does show up, nobody will find out about it.

Loxodonta on September 12, 2009 at 5:15 AM

the_nile on September 12, 2009 at 6:24 AM

This ACORN story needs to make it on to every blog in the country. Go find your favorite blog (other than HA of course) and if it isn’t there, write a post and ask them to publish it. Then send it to everyone you know. Write your reps at all levels, asking for a review of every cent of our tax dollars go to them. Write your paper’s editor. Chastise them if they did not cover this. ACORN getting booted from Census work is huge so it should be all over news today. I haven’t checked papers, but on Boston TV, the census story is getting very little air time. Find a Tea Party to go to today, print up some fliers about this story and disperse them there.

Tuning a blind eye to the sexual enslavement of (illegal and illegally “imported”) children is indefensible. Period.

gopmom on September 12, 2009 at 7:04 AM

And GrannyDee – if you read this, I’m curious which state you are in. I’m originally from Ohio, where ACORN is and was very active. I have friends at Board of elections in Cuyahoga County who are still trying to sort out voter reg’s from August 2008. Sound familiar?

As long as your side does stupid things like hold up an ignorant doooshbag circus clown like Beck as a great voice, you will never ever ever ever ever convince those people on the fence to come to your side come election time. Those are the only people you should be spending energy on. But you’re not. So you will lose.

Both sides lie and both sides whine like little babies about stupid things.

Why don’t you go pick the 7 principles you like out of his 9 (that alone is enough to have fence sitters write you off as incredibly stupid) and then go parade around the town square with a sign riddled with grammatical errors.

Again, your side doesn’t have its eye on the ball. You would rather preach to the choir and get all hysterical together than reach out to the undecideds in a language and manner that will bring them to your side and get your people elected.
