Breaking: Census Bureau cuts ties to ACORN; Update: “We do not come to this decision lightly”
posted at 6:30 pm on September 11, 2009 by Allahpundit
No link yet at Fox but Major Garrett’s tweeting about it. From a practical standpoint, this is no great shakes; ACORN didn’t have a huge role in the census plans. But from a political standpoint, the feds dumping the president’s favorite community organizers for simply being too filthy to associate with is devastating.
The two newest activists-slash-pimps were fired today, but who knows how many more videos Big Government has in the can? Think there are any nervous executives among ACORN management tonight? Stand by for an update when the story is posted on Fox, but in the meantime Ace has it exactly right:
This will be yet another story where those reading the MSM only find out about the escalating controversy after a big action has been taken.
The Past-Tense Media.
Update: This is not the ACORN they thought they knew, although, um, it is for pretty much everyone else.
“We do not come to this decision lightly,” Census director Robert Groves wrote in a letter to ACORN, which was obtained by The Associated Press.
In splitting with ACORN, Groves sought to tamp down GOP concerns and negative publicity that the partnership will taint the 2010 head count.
“It is clear that ACORN’s affiliation with the 2010 census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 census efforts,” Groves wrote.
Follow the link and see how far down you have to read into the AP piece to find anything about prostitution.
Update: James O’Keefe, the mastermind behind the ACORN sting, warns CNN and the rest of the Past-Tense Media to stop bugging him for interview requests until they have the stones to air the hidden-camera footage:
Here’s what I have noticed from your coverage: You brought in the damage control crowd to FRAME the story. Before even airing our damning Baltimore video. You know your audience would turn on ACORN if you showed them the evidence. So instead you put your competitors in journalism in the crosshairs instead of airing a blockbuster report making massive waves elsewhere.
You even trotted out shameless Clinton era apologist Joe Conason to challenge the ETHICS of our expose. Unreal.
Update: “Repeat after me: ACORN is a criminal enterprise.”
Update: As must happen whenever a liberal is under fire politically, the race card is duly and half-heartedly played.

Looks like the Census fired ACORN.

What is the name of the Baltimore City State’s Attorney(s)? I think it is imperative for people to know that they support child prostitution and violating the Mann Act.
We need names, addresses, and emails.

These ACORN idiots are trying, with tax dollars, to turn the USA into Detroit!!!!!!!
Obama and Holder have to understand that we will stop this ghetto crap now! A full investigation must be conducted to find out how much money has been lent to other idiots!
ACORN plays a shell game with our money and shifts it around to other divisions within ACORN, and this money trail must be discovered!

Blake on September 11, 2009 at 8:09 PM
I am not buying it. Too much is at stake for the left. In order to get the defeat-proof socialist congress they want in 2010, they have to do more than just register as many illegals as they can find.
Dave R. on September 11, 2009 at 8:09 PM
Absolutely! We should be relentless in pushing Congress to rescind any funding for this unnecessary and extortionary racket.
onlineanalyst on September 11, 2009 at 8:13 PM
The problem for them Dave is “how far to game the thing”?
If through a whisper campaign the Census is unable to be taken and has to be enforced at gunpoint it will devestate the US’ prestige and the valuation of US Treasury bonds….
people overseas who buy our debt will get “nervous”
the more acorn alienates real people the more cheating they’ll have to gin up they gin up too much cheating and the world will know that America somehow always has a dozen or so million extra voters if turn out is too high…..
nah AFTER the Census if Captain Crisis USS Soetoro is so inclined he’ll play as hard as ball as he must but I think they are backing down, paying Acorn and hiring a wholly owned ACORN susidiary….
if we were a smart network of cells we’d be trying to observe what connections this obviously unexpected for them setback uncovers and then restart the process…
sven10077 on September 11, 2009 at 8:14 PM
Come on! We need the name of the Head Pimp Daddy and the Assistant Ho, in the Baltimore prosecutor’s office.

Netwar-a term used brilliantly by Crichton in State of Fear
http://www-rcf.usc.edu/~monge/pdf/Storytelling_Netwar_ECO_2005.pdf
http://globalguerrillas.typepad.com/globalguerrillas/
I had hoped Bush would be hard enough to fight the Netwar by setting up false flags, agents provactuers, and networks of his own….
Acorn is a Star Network, there is an Oligarchy of directors who controls the activity of operations.
There is a modicum of individual initiative but on the types of operations we are on wideawake for there will always be a communications trail to intercept.
The key to defeating Acorn which is the direct action wing of the radical side of the democratic party will be to map Doctrine, and then start to sow the seeds of social ties.
It is good that we ourselves are a disorganized entity because this creates inertia and a gap in their OODA loop as they try to find the oligarchy they assume must be there….
Part of why I favor not directly tying ourselves to the GOP.
by “we” I mean tea partiers.
sven10077 on September 11, 2009 at 8:20 PM

conmo on September 11, 2009 at 8:22 PM
Wait…before you say that getting Acorn out of the census is no big deal, do a little research on Obama and re-districting in Chicago. Of course, the articles may have been scrubbed.
njpat on September 11, 2009 at 8:23 PM
everyone is expendable….
we should be careful not to overestimate our gains….
you can only defeat an enemy network through forcible dismantling through force or incarceration, or destroying its social cohesion….
the way to destroy social cohesion is to undermine their interior trust as an organization….
that requires when possible prosecutions and fostering situations that put operatives in a decision matrix weighing self-preservation versus desire to see doctrine through or loyalty to the social network.
We need tea partiers to infiltrate the census and act as deep cover and silent observers and people to publish leaked data about Radical activity in the census office.

Remember, they still have $8.5 Billion scheduled their direction. And for those that have trouble visualizing a billion – A man gave his annoying wife (switch this to the gender preference of your choice) $1 million – told her to spend $3,000 a day and don’t come home until it was gone. Alas, she was home in less than a year. Exasperated, he gave her $1 billion under the same conditions, and she didn’t come home for almost 3,000 years.

How soon before RahmboAxelroveHolderMichelle,
or Obama himself, changes this one back in some way.
Without ACORN, theres probably no Senator Obama and definitely no President Obama. I bet 10,000 Quatloos
that somebody high up in the administration will amend or otherwise change this decision and let ACORN back in for 2010 in some capacity.
Thankfully for the entire country, ObamaAxelroveRahmbo can’t turn the whole census show over to ACORN now as planned, but Obama his own bad self is being bombarded by ACORN allies all over the country tonight, and theres no way he can totally banish his street power base to the census sidelines next year. Too many ACORN friends would be demoralized or worse (in jail, on trial or just plum out of federal $$) two years later when Obama really needs them.
I think a largely symbolic but grossly expensive role will be found for ACORN next year. As we say out on the farm, someplace a little further down the trough. And with a WH announcement to that effect coming sooner instead of later.
Obama knows, and the people around him know, that ACORN must eventually take their place Under the Bus. Ideally, they’d all like to see that happen after January 2013.
But if additional shoes start dropping, which they just might based on current events, all bets are off: The Big O will toss ACORN right under the minute he sees he has to.
Mike D. on September 11, 2009 at 9:48 PM

If you have the opportunity, try for a census job yourself. Maybe that way, we can have a accurate and fair count in 2010.

Misslizzi: I will be asking my Census taker if they have worked for ACORN or this COI. If they do I will ask for a paper form to mail in myself. I will not provide information to them at all.

<From Free Republic>:
Posted on Friday, August 07, 2009 8:55:51 PM by GVnana
Trying to excite the crowd last night at a fundraiser for Virginia State Senator Creigh Deeds in Tysons Corner, VA. Barry H. Obama made un-presidential remarks to which the crowd went crazy and no doubt had a collective Obamagasm. Blaming President Bush for the weak economy, Obama tried to make it appear that it was Bush and the Republican that spent us into this recession. While we had a hand in that, the bulk of the blame goes to the Democrats that have controlled congress and the spending since 2007. Obama said, ‘I don’t want the folks who created the mess do a lot of talking.’
At the end of his speech Barry said, ”So you can’t go out there and charge up the credit card, go on an all kinds of things shopping spree that didn’t grow the economy, hand over the bill to us, and then say, why haven’t you paid it off yet. (Applause.) I got that bill from you. (Laughter.) So we’ve got some work to do. I don’t mind, by the way, being responsible; I expect to be held responsible for these issues because I’m the President. (Applause.) But I don’t want the folks who created the mess — I don’t want the folks who created the mess do a lot of talking. I want them just to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. (Applause.) I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking. (Applause.)
Didn’t think it necessary to explain my remark. But, well, you know!
Colorado Anne on September 11, 2009 at 11:42 PM
It’s about damn time people in higher stations of our Government started to realize what a corrupt criminal enterprise ACORN is… and has been for many many years.

The current administration and the Democrat party is hopelessly involved with Acorn and AG Holders dropping of the voter intimidation charges in Philly shows that the Justice Department is also involved. There should be an immediate call for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate Acorn’s involvement with this administration, voter fraud and other criminal activity as they receive massive amount of tax payer dollars.
If the drum beats loud enough and long enough it will happen with or without the GOP getting on-board.

Folks, it’s a laughfest over at HuffPo…well, what else is new. To the revelation that ACORN remained mum about young girls being trafficked in the worst possible way, HuffPos shout,
“Blackwater!”
“Haliburton!”
There’s the famed tolerance for you; the love and respect liberals have for all…especially for young girls exported for those purposes.
They are without a conscience; even without a soul, it would seem–but they are being defeated. I’m so deeply grateful that what seemed so bleak on inauguration day is hopeful again.
In my heart, I believe this is a conservative revolution. I really do.
