Breaking: Census Bureau cuts ties to ACORN; Update: “We do not come to this decision lightly”

No link yet at Fox but Major Garrett’s tweeting about it. From a practical standpoint, this is no great shakes; ACORN didn’t have a huge role in the census plans. But from a political standpoint, the feds dumping the president’s favorite community organizers for simply being too filthy to associate with is devastating.

The two newest activists-slash-pimps were fired today, but who knows how many more videos Big Government has in the can? Think there are any nervous executives among ACORN management tonight? Stand by for an update when the story is posted on Fox, but in the meantime Ace has it exactly right:

This will be yet another story where those reading the MSM only find out about the escalating controversy after a big action has been taken.

The Past-Tense Media.

Update: This is not the ACORN they thought they knew, although, um, it is for pretty much everyone else.

“We do not come to this decision lightly,” Census director Robert Groves wrote in a letter to ACORN, which was obtained by The Associated Press.

In splitting with ACORN, Groves sought to tamp down GOP concerns and negative publicity that the partnership will taint the 2010 head count.

“It is clear that ACORN’s affiliation with the 2010 census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 census efforts,” Groves wrote.

Follow the link and see how far down you have to read into the AP piece to find anything about prostitution.

Update: James O’Keefe, the mastermind behind the ACORN sting, warns CNN and the rest of the Past-Tense Media to stop bugging him for interview requests until they have the stones to air the hidden-camera footage:

Here’s what I have noticed from your coverage: You brought in the damage control crowd to FRAME the story. Before even airing our damning Baltimore video. You know your audience would turn on ACORN if you showed them the evidence. So instead you put your competitors in journalism in the crosshairs instead of airing a blockbuster report making massive waves elsewhere.

You even trotted out shameless Clinton era apologist Joe Conason to challenge the ETHICS of our expose. Unreal.

Update: “Repeat after me: ACORN is a criminal enterprise.”

Update: As must happen whenever a liberal is under fire politically, the race card is duly and half-heartedly played.

Sleight-of-hand. As long as Obama’s in office, ACORN is sitting pretty.

Just wait – it will get much better.

Search for this topic on lefty sites; there are some pretty revealing insights on the mentality of liberalism…if you have the stomach for them.

These people are nothing short of ghouls. Congratulations to the murderer and ‘wish it were here’ sentiments are among the milder things being expressed!

Have not read the article or the comments, just the headline.

Awesome news.

Someone needs to come up with a cartoon of all the people thrown under the Obama bus. I would, but you wouldn’t be able to tell it was a bus. Hoping someone with better drawing abilities reads this and think’s it’s as a good idea as I do.
