Joe Wilson: I need your donations to defend myself from liberal attacks

posted at 7:16 pm on September 10, 2009 by Allahpundit

One might argue that a man who’s truly sorry for what he did wouldn’t be trying to make a buck off of it, but if the left’s going to monetize his outburst — replete with scolding about what an embarrassment he is from the national embarrassment that we call Joe Biden — I guess he has no choice. Here’s the donation page.

As I write this, The Hill is oh so innocently wondering whether Wilson’s shouting might be due to the fact that he’s … some sort of speed freak. We’ve reached a very, very dark point.

Update: Jim Treacher, from the comments in Headlines: “The former caffeine addict called out the former cocaine addict.”

The next line of attack: those who oppose Obama are racist, redneck, brown-shirt, Nazi, astroturfed DRUG ADDICTS

Next they’ll claim pedophiles and wife beaters.

John the Libertarian on September 10, 2009 at 7:18 PM

Donated $25 dollars.

Thank you sir. Obama is a liar. I will reward those who keep taking this socialist to the woodshed.

They are trying to destroy him – he has every right to fight back.

gophergirl on September 10, 2009 at 7:18 PM

I don’t think he’s really sorry.

I certainly hope not.

Fletch54 on September 10, 2009 at 7:19 PM

Joe Wilson is the reason we are having a more vigorous debate on the illegal immigration piece today.

I applaud him. It’s actually working out in our benefit.

One might argue that a man who’s truly sorry for what he did wouldn’t be trying to make a buck off of it,

Since when did “truly sorry” mean anything? Ask John Kerry (troops are too stupid for real jobs), Jack Murtha (troops are killers), or Dick Durbin (troops are no better than the 9/11/01 terrorists).

highhopes on September 10, 2009 at 7:20 PM

see-dubya on September 10, 2009 at 7:18 PM

He may be sorry about the outburst, but he’s not sorry–not has apologized–for calling Obama a liar. Because he is one.

Joe Wilson is the reason we are having a more vigorous debate on the illegal immigration piece today.

therightscoop on September 10, 2009 at 7:19 PM

Are we? I’m not hearing that. What I would suggest Wilson did was have a more vigorous debate on just how honest the filthy liar’s claims are.

Joe Wilson: I need your donations to defend myself from liberal attacks

Rescind your apology and I might think about it. Otherwise why should I waste my hard-earned cash supporting another ball-less Republican?

2Brave2Bscared on September 10, 2009 at 7:26 PM

Didn’t Obama admit to doing cocaine? Maybe that’s what drove him to call Sarah Palin a liar yesterday.

TexasJew on September 10, 2009 at 7:26 PM

The amusing thing about all of this was revealed by Rush Limbaugh today–all these liberal idiots are throwing money at Wilson’s opponent and they don’t realize that the guy is in major debt.

His campaign only had $45k on hand in cash, and over $400,000 in debt from the last campaign where he lost.

So all these idiots are doing is retiring his debt.

that’s one way of looking at it, another way is, live in front of 51 million people the president was called a liar and laughed at, the apology came later, damage was done to the ssobama, wilson’s apology was mere graciousness on his part, he didn’t say he retracted his opinion that the president did indeed LIE only apologized for getting caught up in the moment, americans identify with that.

weewilly on September 10, 2009 at 7:33 PM

I agree with what he did. I would have done the same. This nation is on a threshold: We can either lay down, say nothing and let these Marxist scumbags turn whatever is left of traditional America into a leftist totalitarian hell-hole; or, we can stand up to them and fight their lies, where ever we encounter them. So Wilson was absolutely right to do what he did, presidential address or not.

Where he dropped the ball was apologizing for it in any way shape or form. That was weak.

2Brave2Bscared on September 10, 2009 at 7:42 PM

crr6 on September 10, 2009 at 7:43 PM

rjl1999 on September 10, 2009 at 7:39 PM

Cause it’s all about money for a campaign. If Joe has a big warchest, and his opponent is far behind in the polls, the DNC won’t waste a dime to oppose him.

If, on the other hand, Joe is poor and looks vulnerable, the DNC will pour tons of cash in to take a seat away.

BacaDog on September 10, 2009 at 7:43 PM

I gave him 25 bucks because of the machine attacking him. They attack him for speech, they attack me. The same with Sarah, with Joe, with Whole Foods CEO John Mackey, etc. A representative who would shout FOR us in a joint session, speech with POTUS, “LIAR” has earned more respect in his “disrespect” than all he could be doing with his own constituents. At that moment, he uttered what I was thinking (even live-tweeted). I’m with him. Fallible, yep. Like the rest of us. But, he called it. He dared question the revered O. And the faces from Nancy, Joe, Obama were ALL WORTH IT.
