Joe Wilson: I need your donations to defend myself from liberal attacks

One might argue that a man who’s truly sorry for what he did wouldn’t be trying to make a buck off of it, but if the left’s going to monetize his outburst — replete with scolding about what an embarrassment he is from the national embarrassment that we call Joe Biden — I guess he has no choice. Here’s the donation page.
As I write this, The Hill is oh so innocently wondering whether Wilson’s shouting might be due to the fact that he’s … some sort of speed freak. We’ve reached a very, very dark point.
Update: Jim Treacher, from the comments in Headlines: “The former caffeine addict called out the former cocaine addict.”

I am glad Joe Wilson spoke up. More republicans need to do the same thing. They are not doing their jobs, if they are trying to get along with the liberals in Congress.

I sent Joe Wilson money for his campaign today. It may be largely a symbolic act, but I wanted him to know I’ve got his back–it was what I could do.

I don’t care if the Kos Kiddies send him a million dollars…he’s not going to lose in his district and his constituents support him. If I think he needs it, I’ll send him a few dollars too…

Was $590,000 donated by George Soros?

What the fact checker didn’t tell you was that the Republicans tried to get a bill through before the Healthcare bill was brought forth in the House that said that everybody had to prove they were citizens to get healthcare, and the vote went down along party lines. All the Dems opposed it, the Republicans supported. Now why would the Dems oppose this unless they know that the illegal immigrants will get healthcare because they don’t have to prove they are citizens. It’s all for the hispanic votes. That is why Obama lied last night. He was right that in the bill, it states that illegal immigrants cannot get healthcare but there is nothing to make them prove it…so it’s a lie. Just like how we all can keep our healthcare, that is until the companies have to pay such a tax, that it will be cheaper for them to stop company healthcare and then we will be forced to get the govt healthcare. You see how Obama twists the truth.
I am sending $100 to Joe Wilson. I don’t think he should have said what he did at that forum, but I agree Obama is a liar!!!

It never ceases to amaze me how few people understand the Left, and concurrently, how to fight them. Joe Wilson is only the most recent example. After his strangled outburst of truth, he He manages to ’s all wound up about bein attacked

It never ceases to amaze me how few people understand the Left, and concurrently, how to fight them. Joe Wilson is only the most recent example. After his strangled outburst of truth, he chokes out an apology then gets all wound up about being attacked. What he needed to do was laugh in the Left’s face. What does he care if they attack him? Laugh at the idiocy. Then up the ante by explaining how Obama lied. He could have still apologized for the bad timing of his outburst, but not for the facts of the matter. Nothing unnerves the Left more than a sense of humor coupled with unyielding determination to tell the truth.
rrpjr on September 10, 2009 at 11:16 PM
All Joe Wilson needed to say:
“I’m sorry I blurted out the truth at the wrong moment. Next time I will wait until the torrent of preposterous lies has stopped so I can be heard better. Thank you.

This guy has chutzpah……gotta laugh.
AnninCA on September 11, 2009 at 12:45 AM
he didnt apologize for what he said, just where and when he said it.Thats acceptable to me,anyway.
theTarCzar on September 11, 2009 at 1:16 AM
Joe Wilson was right, Obama IS a liar, anyone who says Obama isn’t a liar…is a liar. Illegals WILL get healthcare, this has already been ruled on twice at the Federal Appeals Court level basically saying that NO group, illegal or not, will be denied healthcare and must be included in government program.
Obama is supposed to be a Constitutional Attorney so Obama SHOULD know this, he does know this, therefore, Obama lied.
nelsonknows on September 11, 2009 at 1:19 AM
Even the AP is either lying or dead WRONG on this, I would say they are lying, if lil’ ol’ me can find the two Appellate courts cases that state that illegals cannot be excluded from ANY government program, you’d expect the AP and Obama could.
(Associated Press, not Allahpundit, by the way)
nelsonknows on September 11, 2009 at 1:26 AM
Right. He was correct to apologize for the decorum breach.
But that minor faux pas has given him…and us…a platform from which we can highlight the lies of this administration regarding illegals being covered and if we go at it the right way, we can use that to highlight the other lies.
powerpro on September 11, 2009 at 1:35 AM
Wonder if Joe’s opposition has gotten much money from dodadpro, good will and the like And it’s not like Obama’s FEC appointee John J. Sullivan (SEIU,IBT,AFSCME) cares about this campaign finance stuff or anything.
Hey Sullivan – how’s that investigation going?
batterup on September 11, 2009 at 1:40 AM
$25 to Joe already done. Apology was given and now it’s back to stopping Obamacare. We are in a battle, people, let’s not forget that. Our disdain for the left booing President Bush in ‘05 won us what, exactly? Nada. The left doesn’t play within the rules so why should we? Isn’t that one of their mantras to make your opponent play by their own rules and exploit it, and in this case, decorum? We’re so past politeness. I hate it that it’s come to this, but there it is…

Tell the congressman that I am unable to send anything other than my best wishes.
Dr. ZhivBlago on September 11, 2009 at 5:53 AM
Mr E-mail to Rep. Wilson:
While what you did may have been disrespectful, I fully understand why since I yell at my television when I hear lies being put forth by public officials. As an American, I accept your verbal and written apology to our President.
Since congress limits outside comments, I took an unusual step of fabricating a local address. For that I apologize, but I am a member of one of those unAmerican, Brownshirt Nazi/Klansman, evil monger, right-wing, domestic terrorist, TEA Party mobs from the Peoples Republic of Maryland, so that is to be expected.
Take care and be safe.
I then sent him a campaign donation.
amr on September 11, 2009 at 7:19 AM
On his donations page, Representative Wilson’s web developer could usefully distinguish between required and optional fields. Does a donator really have to give up his work number and fax number?
Kralizec on September 11, 2009 at 7:35 AM
Ronsfi I could not agree with you more! He should NOT have apologized for calling a liar a liar.
Confederate on September 11, 2009 at 10:49 AM
Joe Wilson has already gained over $200,000 in donations.
