This would only happen if the republicans had what the democrats now enjoy, a filibuster-proof majority. Anything less and the dems can hold the line on repeal. This is why it has to be stopped right now, when the reps don’t have the votes to stop it. The odds of this happening, even by 2012, are south of slim.

DeMint to Obama: Please do my job for me.

DeMint is more than welcome to review the whole bill line by line; in fact, that’s why he gets paid. If he doesn’t like what’s in there, he can try to change it, or vote against.

The “problem” is that nobody knows with any certainty what is in the house and senate bills including you. Unlike you, we are not compliant, parasitic sheep looking for more free stuff from the government. Furthermore, we are not willing to give up our freedoms and liberties so that we can be ~~stroked and cuddled~~ enslaved and strangled by the nanny government. If you truly do not know what the problem is then you don’t belong in this discussion.

Tort reform is not good only for those on the right, it’s good for us all. And I have yet to hear a principled argument–hell, any argument–by a Dem opposing tort reform.

Dean made an excellent argument in defense of not including tort reform. It went something like this: Even though over 90% of us are lawyers, we’re too afraid of lawyers to do it.

Accidental hoesty in politics is at least good for a chuckle if nothing else.

If the ObamaCare bill(s) pass they won’t go into affect until 2013 (yeah, it’s real critical to pass it immediately, huh?). I read an article about political gurus and policy advisers. It was very interesting. What I remember is how giving advice was described. The advice they give is determined by the individual they give it to, i.e. what they want to hear and what the advsor thought the politician could get away with. I’m sure Obama has political advisors that know an all out push for the public option that fails is going to sink his presidency. I’m sure he has advisors that know the economy is not going to recover in the next four years and the threat of inflation is all to real. I’m sure he has advisors that know another shot at “comprehensive immigration reform” in a recession is suicide. But the advice they give is limited to what Obama and his leadership want to hear. If Obama wants advice on how to pass the public option, no matter how fool hardy the advisor knows it to be, that is the advice that will be given. That has to be a surreal experience. Getting paid to give good advice but being in a position to give advice you know will lead to a failure, not because you are incompetent but because that is what the boss wants…
