Fearmonger-in-chief: Pass my crappy bill or people will die

posted at 10:30 pm on September 9, 2009 by Allahpundit

“Everyone in this room knows what will happen if we do nothing,” says the guy who’s committed to doing nothing about social security, Medicare, and the mind-bogglingly enormous deficits that promise fiscal catastrophe in the years ahead while he saddles America with yet another red-ink-bleeding government program. Note well: He’s actually promoting a plan that will lead to health-care rationing as a way to prolong Americans’ lives. We’re living your dream, Orwell. Click the image to watch.

Not for nothing, but the story of the night BY FAR, is the new number: “30 million uninsured”

No explanation. Just a new number.

This is a lie. I work in this field and I have seen a lot of people taken care of who had absolutely no resources..I have never known a case in which people were left to die because of a lack of health insurance coverage. I think Obama should have to give a real example of this happening.

I wonder how good people working for insurance companies, who were demonized by this man and called basically murderers, are reacting to the gasps and John McCain’s of the nation clutching their pearls because someone called him a liar.

We knew Obama would lie about the legislation. That is exactly what he did. Republicans should have walked out of address en mass. This is a president that cares only for his own ego and not the American people. His ratings are tanking and he is desperate. So he lies…

IntheNet on September 9, 2009 at 10:35 PM

Man, Allah, you seem worked up. I like it.

I know someone has to have mentioned this already but regardless of what passes it won’t take effect for three to five years from signing. What kind of emergency can wait that long for implementation?

Yo. Over here. I work at an insurance company monitoring for health care fraud. And you better believe people treat me like the worst thing ever, even though they have no bloody clue how health care works.

And I used to work in hospitals and ain’t no one kicked out of a hospital for not having insurance. That’s a sue-able offence that can get a hospital shut down.

And FYI – People die every day. I doubt this sh*tty bill will change that.

What now?

That’s the question. Congress is back in session. The Marxists are undeterred in their quest for total control over We the People. So, what next?

The federal government has ZERO Constitutional authority to take over health care. Will anyone in the GOP bring this up?

Will Red states roll over and accept the imposition of socialism?
Will taxpayers accept their indentured servitude?
Will talk of secession increase?
Will 10th Amendment challenges to federal overreach happen?

I will find a way to not participate in this crap. Not sure what it is just yet.

“In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” – Thomas Jefferson

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence (OBAMACARE – mine), the money of their constituents.” – James Madison

As Rush likes to say “100% of people who eat carrots will die.” This sort of cheap fearmongering is beneath contempt, and most Americans are brave enough to see through it.

The truth is, Obama’s health care plan isn’t saving anyone. As Axelrod himself admitted to Bill O’Reilly, people are still getting care in emergency rooms. Someone please show me the list of people who died as a direct result of being uninsured.

I suppose “pass this bill or people will die” is no worse than “we must stop those tonsil-stealing doctors” as far as primetime health care rationales go, though.

My prediction. House passes public option. Senate passes some sort of trigger or marketplace. Conference committee adds some Eye of Daschle (instead of Newt), and voila! a nearly-public option plan.

Olympia Snow will shrug and say she tried to stop it, then vote for it. Democrats will say the bill was bipartisan while still objecting to GOP obstructionism.
