Video: Glenn Beck on the media’s suppression of the Van Jones story
posted at 7:44 pm on September 8, 2009 by Allahpundit
A critical fact that shouldn’t be forgotten: It’s not at all clear that the media buried this story simply to help Obama. I tend to agree with Byron York that, if not for their loathing of Beck and populist conservative media, they might have covered this. A little.
The first words of the Times’ story on Jones’ resignation were, “In a victory for Republicans and the Obama administration’s conservative critics. …” One news anchor suggested Jones was “the Republican right’s first scalp.” Other coverage called the Jones affair a victory for Glenn Beck, Fox News, right-wing blogs, and even Sarah Palin, who played no role in the matter.
If you throw in Rush Limbaugh, you have all the bogey-people of the conservative world. To some on the left, including some journalists, denying them a victory was a top priority, no matter what Van Jones had said and done.
There was a day, not too long ago, when the Times and other influential news organizations could kill a story — could deny the bad guys a win — simply by ignoring it. Sometimes they still try. But it just won’t work anymore.
Won’t it? If not for his dalliance with 9/11 Truth, Jones would still be our “green jobs” czar, never mind the communist past and the shilling for Mumia and the “Republicans are assholes” comment and so forth. Watch the second clip below, of the boss talking about “wackjob” science czar John Holdren, to see just how powerless new media is. Jones happened to stumble across one of the few political lines that a leftist can’t transgress; Holdren, a former advocate of forced abortions and mass sterilization, is still safely on the other side. And no one will press Obama on it, of course. After all, not one question — not one — was asked about Jones at today’s White House presser.
Enjoy the czar stuff now because I think Ace is right that Beck is moving on. Next up: The NEA’s propaganda push.

I think you and Ace have it right. Breitbart and Beck have a lot of synergy; the B-cast talks about Beck a lot, and he uses things they pick up on. And Breitbart has the NEA liars dead to rites.

1. Van Jones got vetted because he was exactly who the White House wanted. They didn’t miss anything. Rather, they wanted him BECAUSE he is a radical and a Communist.
2. He got dumped because the storm around him was upsetting Obama’s push for health care.
3. Obama has surrounded himself with these kind of radicals his whole life. Why is anyone surprised that these people all fit that bill.
4. My personal opinion is that these czars are there for two purposes: 1. They get around the vetting process and cannot be questioned by Congress. They answer only to the President. 2. Since they cover all but two Cabinet positions, they are perfectly situated to take over in the event of a “catastrophe”.

Jumpin Jehosophat–that woman is absolutely gorgeous! I could barely concentrate on what she was saying. Simply stunning. And of course all the other stuff too–the intellectual firepower, the tirelessness, the integrity. . . My name is smellthecoffee and I’m an MM fan.

I just emailed O’Reilly and told him I am not watching his show after many years. I was appalled at how he treated Glenn Beck and it seemed he was belittling his information. Beck doesn’t need anyone from Fox putting him down – he’s got everyone else against him. On his radio show today, he asked everyone to get on their knees and pray for him and his family. They must be going through hell. And for O’reilly to say he wasn’t concerned about Jones being a communist? What? I believe Beck will overtake O’reilly in ratings soon and O is just a little worried about that. Anyway, Bill has been totally blind about Obama from day one, and I thought he was a pretty smart guy, but how could he not see what we all see?

Without Ted Stevens representing the publics interest, there has been a drop in tube technology as of late.

Glenn has torqued me off in the past, but he has done a great job on this. I hope he doesn’t stop, either. I don’t care if Jones was a small figure. I wanted him gone if for no other reason than I don’t want to pay the racist communist jerk’s salary. What do these guys make, anyway?
I agree. The world is far more dangerous than most realize. I found this article while I was looking for something earlier. I knew there had been riots in France by Islamic ‘Youth’, and in Greece, and was vaguely aware of the G20 riots in London, as well as clashes with Muslims in Birmingham, UK, but I somehow missed how widespread they have been across Europe in the past several months. Very disturbing…
They(Some French politicians) are wary of the growing power of leftist radicals linked to the New Anti-Capitalist Party of Olivier Besancenot, a Trotskyist postman.
In Russia, about 2,000 demonstrators gathered by a statue of Karl Marx in Moscow waving banners and red Soviet flags and calling for a return of communism.
Full article on Riots in Europe
The leftists are restless and very dangerous. We do a lot of talking about taking our pitchforks to the streets, but they actually throw bricks and molotov coctails.
Deep danger indeed.

I didn’t see the first run but I just saw the repeat. I was screaming too. “He’s just a little man” claims O’Reilly. HE WAS IN CHARGE OF 30 BILLION DOLLARS OF OUR MONEY, YOU IDIOT!

I think The Compleat List of Czars said the range was 157K to 180K per year.

O’Reilly is always condescending towards GB. He hates it that Beck is rising in popularity. O’Reilly wasn’t kidding when he said Beck made HIM look like Mary Poppins.
I’ve always thought GB makes O’Reilly look weak.
To paraphrase:
O’Reilly–…because Communism is no longer a threat to us..
Beck–ARE YOU KIDDING?
I’ll march with GB–even if I have posted that his style is hard for me to wade through.

Rat own, rat own, rat own.
Michelle Malkin is the perfect example of the fact that grown men of whatever age have no interest in bimbos. She’s a stunner in every way.

Glenn & MM are true American patriots. I am very proud of all those appearing in DC on 9/12 to help express our displeasure. The growing numbers at every townhall/tea party event shows that most Americans, D or R, care about the fundamental values of our Republic. We cannot relent, we must not assume that a small victory ie. Van Jones is the end result.
Please, everyone, keep in sight the longer term. Replace our current representatives/senators as this is the only way to avoid a more ‘vigorous’ defense of the Constitution. We have been afforded the Internet as a way to express our views, IN SPITE OF the PSM (piss stream media).
It is a fortuitous act of nature that each of us was born or raised in the USA. This, as the greatest country to arise in the last 2000 years, is our heritage to accept via our great good luck. It is NOT our job to lay idly about and brag; it is to acknowledge our role in preserving it, regardless the cost.
We still have time to oppose each electoral position thru primary challenges. Speeches are great, but power shifts occur when new Folks with different agendas appear. It is new, clearly expressed altered agendas that the candidates will stand behind that will result in true change.
I have selected Joe Tegerdine, and volunteered for, as a replacement for Gene Taylor in the 4th Congressional District of MS. Gene is a Blue Dog D in a strongly R area; he can be beaten if Conservatives raise up against his voting record.
Where ever you are, do not assume that your current deadbeat candidate is a ‘lock’. Donations, door knocking, volunteering, hell RUNNING….these can change the outcome of a race no matter how well financed our opponent is. YOU CAN do something besides biatchin here…get personally involved.
Give Glenn & MM a REAL helping hand.

United Auto Workers, United Steelworkers, Teamsters, Air Line Pilots Association. What do they have in common?
a. they ruined their industry
b. have direct deposit accounts at the DNC
c. Ron Bloom
d. all of the above
This is becoming such a farce (RINO wimps, media, and Benito Obama)

Lol! As a former IT guy (I want my old job back Obama), I’m laughing that up.

But which is more sinister? Either way they are working for their own goals and not for what Journalism should be.

When the major papers like the NYT went transnationationalist and hired correspondents from all over the world, gone was any allegiance to America.

Glad Michael Savage brought Van Jones to my attention months ago.

I worry that even our “march” on DC Saturday will not stop ObamaCare or even if the government option is dropped, the economic freedom issues (i.e. mandatory health care requirement under government mandates) and civil liberties (i.e. IRS held financial and doctors/hospital held medical records released to the government) will remain in some form. I don’t trust the conference committee outcome even if the Senate bill is milder in appearance.
We should be prepared to follow the example set in Tennessee after the governor and legislature proposed to vote in and approve a state income tax in 1999. The MSM seems to have neglected to report much on this, so go to glennreynolds.com/?p=8 for some details. With the reported 26,000 TEA Party organizations in our great country, we could make life difficult for those cloistered in DC.

Where is the leadership of the Republican party?
albill on September 9, 2009 at 9:26 AM
Van Jones. Is that his real name? Sounds like a name one uses when registering at a hotel/motel with someone other than their actual wife and family.
I guess Van originates from the first thing his mother saw while giving birth at home, as the repo man was retrieving what was theirs.

Has Michelle had plastic surgery??? She looks different. Her eyes look different. I have to say she looks better — but something is different. Anyone else???

Their loathing of Beck? I guess they loathed the National Enquirer with the John Edwards story: A story they knew about but spiked. Let’s look to those the Old Media loath for the truth.
