Olby: Pretty much all criticism of Obama is racist

posted at 9:56 pm on September 8, 2009 by Allahpundit

We haven’t checked in on the reincarnation of Edward R. Murrow in awhile. Apparently he called off the search for dirt on Glenn Beck today — he’s just too darn moral, you see — but don’t you fret. Not only does he regard virtually all criticism of The One from the right to be crypto-racist in nature but he goes out of his way here to agree with Van Jones’s assessment that Republicans are “assholes.” TV critics keep drawing ironic demagogic parallels between him and his bete noire O’Reilly but I don’t remember Bill O calling Democrats A-holes back when I used to watch the Factor regularly. Has he taken to doing that lately? I know Keith is scrupulous about not acting like a bigger jackass than the guy he deems to be the biggest jackass on TV.

Just wanted to flag this in case anyone mistakenly thought that Garofalo’s views on race were too wild and woolly even for “Countdown.” On the contrary.

None of the “race” talk has any basis in reality. Beck specifically pointed AWAY from the “a-holes” clip as unimportant, while Olby uses that as an example of what Beck uncovered, etc. etc. How do people like this sleep at night? I really don’t get it.

RightWinged on September 8, 2009 at 10:14 PM

CSLewis on that sleeping at night thingy, not a huge fan of his but, he’s dead on with this quote.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” CS Lewis

Marcus on September 8, 2009 at 10:52 PM

Allah, I noticed you used the feminine “bête noire,” while the masculine “noir” is the norm for this term. A subtle dig at Olby?

TouchingTophet on September 8, 2009 at 10:52 PM

Actually I guess it’s a dig at O’Reilly if anything. That makes more sense.

TouchingTophet on September 8, 2009 at 10:53 PM

Yes, Keith. We get it. We know why the progressives picked the Obama doll to put on stage.

It will fail, because they have already overplayed the race card.

So we are racist and Van Jones is a… The only thing that really describes Van Jones to me would be RACIST. Nothing complicated here. If you say the things Van Jones has said about white people then you are without a doubt a non-apologetic RACIST. Olbermann is a racist because he hasn’t pointed that out. He thinks saying those things are ok???

Isn’t this the same Keith Olbermann who was giving out sports scores on ESPN 10+ years ago? Who gives a crap what he has to say about nationalized health care when his previous diatribes were about the excessive use of pine tar, instant replay in the NFL and why the BCS is a waste of time?

I contend that anyone who feels the need to defend President Obama by including the words, “first African-American President” is a racist.

Suck it Keith.

Left Coast Right Mind on September 8, 2009 at 11:49 PM

If all criticism of BHO is racist then all criticism of SP is sexist. I would rather mainline drano than listen to these two metro-sexuals, faux intellectuals (notice horn-rimmed glasses) converse. Its like a toothpick through the eardrum.

Why go after him (Van Jones)? BECAUSE HE’S A COMMUNIST!

Mojave Mark on September 8, 2009 at 11:24 PM

Most of Obama’s buds are as well….

Here is their version of the constituton

CONSTITUTION OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

http://cpusa.org/article/static/15/

We are the party of the African American, Mexican American, Puerto Rican, all other Latino American, Native American, Asian American, and all racially and nationally oppressed peoples, as well as women, youth, and all other working people.

What – white people can’t join? Now that is racist….

We advocate an expanded Bill of Rights to guarantee religious, political, and individual freedoms, but also freedom from poverty, hunger, joblessness, and racism.

See above

We focus our efforts on increasing our ability to organize millions into struggle, fighting anti-communism as a divisive weapon of the capitalist class. With Marxism-Leninism guiding our actions, the Communist Party strives to build the broadest unity against global capitalist imperialism now headed by U.S. imperialism, for immediate gains and reforms that benefit working people, and for a progressive democratization of the government, the economy, and society of our country on the road to and after winning socialism.

Sounds like an Obama campaign speech

It shall be the obligation of all Party members to struggle against all manifestations of male supremacy and discrimination against women, and to fight for the full social, political and economic equality for women.

Then why does Obama stick up for Islam?

Remember this?

June 1st 2009
OLBERMANN: The time has come to quarantine Fox News.

OLBERMANN: If there is a solution, it is perhaps an indirect boycott. It is probably your experience, as it has been mine, that stores, bars, restaurants, waiting rooms, bathroom stalls, the walk don’t walk signs at crosswalks, all the scoreboards at EVERY major and minor ball park, bill boards all over NYC, the back windows of cars, My girlfriends glasses, often show Fox News.

Don’t write a letter, don’t make a threat. Just get up and explain. If they will not change the channel, leave the place and state calmly why it is you are taking your business elsewhere.

greggriffith on September 9, 2009 at 12:07 AM

Judging by the looks of him, they only hire people that wear terrible suits, are in desperate need of a haircut, drinks pinot grigio by the glass at bars, buys poetry books and never reads them, and doesn’t eat red meat. One of the pre-requisites is that you must also be a “struggling writer seeking the moment to burst (from their parent’s basement?) onto the free lance scene.

I hope his parent’s didn’t pay for that education because I would be sending him back demanding a refund.

I couldn’t agree more. I figure that’s due to O’Reilly and Beck just being ordinary Joes who are into the political talk-game out of a genuine desire to support their beliefs and concerns. Guys Olbermann and his types are simply have no true loyalty to this country and have no backbone. They refine and polish their presentation skills, turning into modern day “peg-boys”, boot lickers and propaganda machines to their leftist demigogs.

Why?

I have a question for all you white people.

After watching olby-hole’s clip above, and after having just seen this clip at GP from MSNBC also, claiming that most of the opposition to obama is racist:
http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/09/msnbc-analyst-obamacare-opponents-are.html, I’m wondering how the average, center-left, rational, white person would react to these accusations of racism.

I’m not white, so I couldn’t comprehend the complex white psyche. But I would think that the average, rational, liberal white person would automatically dismiss the racism charge and at least give us evil right-wingers the benefit of the doubt by chalking it up to principled ideological opposition.

Do white people have that kind of racial solidarity?

BillaryMcBush on September 9, 2009 at 3:32 AM

Aitch748 on September 9, 2009 at 5:21 AM

so, because wright and van jones are black, nobody can investigate or question them?

wouldn’t that be treating them differently because of their skin color?

seems to me that Olby and this other tool (and msnbc) are the racists because they are the ones who keep seeing COLOR and injecting the fact that these guys are black into the discussion.

Who gives a flying f*ck what color they are. It doesn’t change the fact that Jones is a truther, a *chickens are coming home to roost-er* and a commie, and a guy who thinks white people are intentionally poisoning black people, and a guy who think Clinton killed people in a conflict to hide the fact that he was messing around with Lewinsky.

For the last 8 years ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, and HLN spent endless hours calling Bush a terrorist, baby killer, racist and a load of other slanderous names. Here’s the fun part, in 8 years they could never come close to Fox’s ratings and Fox is only 1 channel. Now less than 8 months into the Obama administration Fox, (1 channel) is kicking the a$$ of all those other channels combined.

The guy is a joke. I’ll have to set my clock to AVOID him again on my football telecast. I tune in just in time for the kickoff because I can’t stand this little weenie intruding.

marklmail on September 9, 2009 at 8:47 AM

I really hope this is NOT the way he thinks… if so, what a sad pathetic life he must have….

The guys at GE know that they are playing fast and loose. If anyone at MSNBC had a brain they have to notice the slop they are serving. They notice!

Some examples? The puerile fun with the epithet used against Republicans in the clip, the lack of any attempt to refute the substance of Glen Beck’s accusations, the stretch to a racism charge and I could go on. People of any level of intelligence or education can talk themselves into some very poor thought, decisions and conduct. I would like to ask MM or Ann Coulter about this but I believe that these guys know they are huckstering and justify the lies and shoddy arguments with a higher goal.

I’m still waiting for Jones’ defenders to successfully refute one factual allegation. Just one. Instead, Olbermann just keeps playing the race card with nothing else in his hand to back it up:

Olbermann: Van Jones and Obama are black, therefore all criticism of them is racist.

What’s your evidence?

Olbermann: I just told you. Van Jones and Obama are black.

“He’s no more left than Reid and Pelosi . . .”

Uhh, and we hate Reid and Pelosi as well. Until O! was elected though, they did not have the ability to do anything with their america-hating marxist beliefs. Now that they have a solid majority in both houses and the presidency – with teh most radical left-wing President in history, they have the possibility of acting on their america-hating communist beliefs.

That is why O! invokes so much dislike. Also, the fact that he lied about everything in his campaign (his background, his beliefs, who his friends are, what his objectives were, what his policies would be) and has done nothing but lie continuously since being in office, just adds to the intense dislike.

But, where were the leftards when Bush Derangement Syndrom reigned supreme? I suppose if hatred of Obama is racist, that means that the left is racist against whites based on their hatred of Bush. Or, does logic not work for you BlatantBlue?

Who is this clown that Olberdooche is interviewing? How do turds like this get/maintain employment? Yet another reason not to eeeeeeeeevvvvvver watch MSNBC.

Pretty much all criticism words out of ObamaOlby’s mouth is ignorance.

I know Keith is scrupulous…

You don’t know jack.

pabarge on September 9, 2009 at 10:07 AM

Notice how Keef and the tool from the Nation both “forget” to mention the Truther kookery, as if they don’t know that the conspiracy stuff was the bit that actually sunk Jones.

CTD on September 9, 2009 at 10:09 AM

So I bet 50% of the audience bought into that crap…

Keith Olberman’s mom – believes it
Allahpundit – does not

Well that would be everyone that watches, and 50% buy into Olberman’s “racism” excuses.

I LOVE white russians! Can I get a double?

HornetSting on September 8, 2009 at 10:58 PM

I assume the term LOVE is directed at the beverage not the person(s). Ogerman is a closet Russian Communist and must be committed. Not to his work but physically and mentally. His therapy “Shock Therapy” – consisting or watching or hearing Michelle Malkin, Ann Coltur, Michale Savage, Mark Levin, Rush, Sean Hannity, President Bush, V.P. Chaney, and other conservative pundits 24/7. Upon recovery, he should be presented his release papers by the all forgiving Bill O’Reilly.

Dearbornistan parrots the “racist” mob meme;

Michigan Daily: Why the mobs still gather
By: Imran Syed

…some people will never accept him. To them, he’ll always be a secret Muslim, a Kenyan-born usurper or a socialist determined to drive white America into the ground. No matter what he accomplishes, this president will always be Barack. Hussein. Obama… And that is why the mobs still roar in support when a racist madly waves a birth certificate while calling our president a liar.

Olby’s best days were on ESPN with Dan Patrick…

His career is at the nadir… and dropping (if that was physically possible)…
