Olby: Pretty much all criticism of Obama is racist

posted at 9:56 pm on September 8, 2009 by Allahpundit

We haven’t checked in on the reincarnation of Edward R. Murrow in awhile. Apparently he called off the search for dirt on Glenn Beck today — he’s just too darn moral, you see — but don’t you fret. Not only does he regard virtually all criticism of The One from the right to be crypto-racist in nature but he goes out of his way here to agree with Van Jones’s assessment that Republicans are “assholes.” TV critics keep drawing ironic demagogic parallels between him and his bete noire O’Reilly but I don’t remember Bill O calling Democrats A-holes back when I used to watch the Factor regularly. Has he taken to doing that lately? I know Keith is scrupulous about not acting like a bigger jackass than the guy he deems to be the biggest jackass on TV.

Just wanted to flag this in case anyone mistakenly thought that Garofalo’s views on race were too wild and woolly even for “Countdown.” On the contrary.

From what I see when I do watch BOR, he bends over backwards to be fair to Dems in general and not wield a broadbrush. His critiques are specific to individuals and often to just one comment or topic, taking care to say in other areas they’re just fine (often he’s wrong saying that but it’s that bending over backwards thingy I mentioned).

good thing that re-runs of Huckabee have more viewers than this clown.

Olbermann is an idiot. There is no nice way of putting it.

Phil Byler on September 8, 2009 at 10:02 PM

Well, he’s already said they’re “the leading terror group in America” so I guess calling them just racists is a step up.

In another three years perhaps he’ll just call them “evil.”

Progress, my friends, progress.

SteveMG on September 8, 2009 at 10:03 PM

Sara Palin has come out in favor of Obama on Afghanistan, does this mean that the left is basing opposition to that on race?

Pedophiles looking to see if they’re on “To Catch a Predator” and employees of MSNBC. No one else could possibly watch that crap.

And we were called racists. Take a shot! (I think I might have liver failure at this point)

Keith only likes Obama because his momma was White. He’s a safe black man for liberals like Keith. I know these types of uppity Whites. They are bitter, angry, racists people.

SouthernGent on September 8, 2009 at 10:04 PM

I actually saw this exchange live since OReilly was on commercial break and I was trying to catch what he found in Beck’s closets. Just a couple of white male libs feeling guilty about being white and male. Well, sort of male.

StevefromMKE on September 8, 2009 at 9:59 PM

It is funny to watch liberal white people screaming racism on behalf of the black people they imagine they speak for, and who they don’t think capable of defending themselves. I’ve taken a page from their book, and now defend short people. I’m quite tall, but if anyone dares to say anything about short people, you have to answer to me. It’s fun being a minority now, and I get to shout “short” discrimination every day. Makes me feel American.

JiangxiDad on September 8, 2009 at 10:07 PM

Great! Now some vegan commune in New Hampshire and a handful of prison inmates who think Olberman “has a pretty mouth” think I’m a racist!

Now how am I supposed to get by?

I think that ship has sailed. That’s why they’re forced to relegate it’s usage to a show that very few people watch. When Obarga tried to use it with his bud, that harvard prof, people told him to stick it where the sun don’t shine.

Riiiight. It had nothing to do with this, or the fact that when he got back in to work he was yelled at by his bosses.

OT: Awesomely awesome–Greta’s reporting that Palin has written a column on the healthcare debate that will appear in tomorrow’s Wall Street Journal.

Stolen thunder. Obama is beaten to the punch by the former governor shooting from the hip in curlers, a bathrobe, and fuzzy slippers.

Heads will explode in Manhattan and San Fran. I hope Obama feels like the warden opening the morning paper towards the end of Shawshank Redemption. Repeat after me, O: Gulp.

Why did you make me watch this? I usually avoid it just because the constant stream of lies is so infuriating.

None of the “race” talk has any basis in reality. Beck specifically pointed AWAY from the “a-holes” clip as unimportant, while Olby uses that as an example of what Beck uncovered, etc. etc. How do people like this sleep at night? I really don’t get it.

BTW, if Olbermann does think that Glenn Beck’s main motivation here was the advertising boycott, it makes the Van Jones resignation that much sweeter.

Dave R. on September 8, 2009 at 10:23 PM

Why has the Democratic Party become so arrogantly detached from ordinary Americans? Though they claim to speak for the poor and dispossessed, Democrats have increasingly become the party of an upper-middle-class professional elite, top-heavy with journalists, academics and lawyers (one reason for the hypocritical absence of tort reform in the healthcare bills). Weirdly, given their worship of highly individualistic, secularized self-actualization, such professionals are as a whole amazingly credulous these days about big-government solutions to every social problem. They see no danger in expanding government authority and intrusive, wasteful bureaucracy. This is, I submit, a stunning turn away from the anti-authority and anti-establishment principles of authentic 1960s leftism.

Olby: Pretty much all criticism of Obama is racist

The Race Card is the most rapid-fire all purpose psy-ops weapon of mass deception ever conceived by man. It can be fired by even the otherwise untrainable and, in fact, is especially suited for repeated use by them. It has no reason. It has little rhyme. It has no pity. It has no remorse. It has no expiration date. It doesn’t even appear to have a half life. There are those who theorize that It may continue to exist indefinitely in some form even after time itself has come to an end.

Its not shocking anymore and all it does is provoke howls of laughter and derision at any person silly enough to use it as a line of attack because it has become a tacit admission on the persons behalf that they have lost the argument and are now resorting to name calling as a means of cheap validation of their self perceived moral and intellectual superiority.
