Soldiers ‘could mutiny over PM’s Libyan stance’

PRIME Minister Gordon Brown was warned that soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan had threatened to down arms over his refusal to back IRA victims’ battle for compensation from Libya, previously unseen documents have revealed.

My guess would be the same reason we would inform the Brits if we were going to release some terrorist prisoners and put them in Bermuda. It’s more like a common courtesy than a “mother may I”.

My guess is the Brits have learned a lesson in dealing with our new President, he’s not a George Bush who, despite what you may have thought, wasn’t duplicitous. In Clinton and Obama, you have a couple of pros at doing CYA and, with our suck-up press, you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone calling them on it.
