UK sources: Obama knew about the Lockerbie bomber every step of the way

Via Astute Bloggers, is this a scandal or not?
British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahi’s return.
The officials say the Americans spoke out because they were taken aback by the row over Megrahi’s release, not because they did not know it was about to happen.
‘The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide.
‘We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahi’s return was out of the blue.
I’ve always assumed that they knew what was going on. How could they not? The objection to Megrahi’s release, as articulated by Frum, is that they didn’t pound the table more, not that they weren’t kept informed. Even so, this is the same M.O. The One followed during the Iran uprising, isn’t it? He keeps his mouth shut until a critical mass of public outrage is reached, then he creeps behind the podium and offers tepid denunciations. Way to lead, champ.

The Clintons are political survivalists, even better than the filthy liar in the White House at throwing loyal friends under the bus (Ft. Marcy Park ring a bell?) That being said, Hillary mad a misstep in taking the SecState job. It is clear she thought she was going to have a bigger profile (no pun intended) than what has occurred.

Well that may be, but “so outraged I resigned” blather, whether made public or just quietly resigning “to spend more time with the family” has an expiration date. I don’t think year’s end is close enough to save her butt. It will need to be done a week or two now that it’s out or she’s toast.

I used to argue that point with my parents who hated Bush. Qhaddafi became so frightened of Bush that I believe he caved in so much, that we actually took them off the state sponsored terrorist list. All he was waiting for is a sympathetic President.

Actually, I think the British example is one we may see Obama undertake before it’s all over. I expect to see some terrorist released in exchange for something. I’m becoming accustomed to this now…I anticipate a steady drip, drip, drip of these things, accompanied by the occasional blatantly outrageous event (such as Obama’s treatment of Honduras, while opening relations with Cuba) to occur for the remainder of his time in office. I may have to start on blood pressure meds within 3 years.

He had an opportunity to prove those, like me, who never saw this so-called leadership potential in a racist Chicago street thug. I would suggest that there isn’t a single instance where the bastard has attempted to be a post-racial/post-partisan uniter. His whole attitude is summed up in his “I won so STFU” statements.
Today’s Washington Post had a picture of the filthy liar staring out the window in a repeat of that JFK photo during the Cuban Missile Crisis. But instead of keeping the nation safe, the filthy liar is contemplating on how best to propagandize school children on Tuesday followed by a speech on Wednesday calling for state seizure of healthcare to balance out previous seizures of the automobile and banking industries. It’s pretty pathetic and any chance of Obama being a unifying figure has long ago been squandered in the name of partisanship. The best thing the filthy liar could do is tender his resignation.
