UK sources: Obama knew about the Lockerbie bomber every step of the way

Via Astute Bloggers, is this a scandal or not?
British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahi’s return.
The officials say the Americans spoke out because they were taken aback by the row over Megrahi’s release, not because they did not know it was about to happen.
‘The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide.
‘We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahi’s return was out of the blue.
I’ve always assumed that they knew what was going on. How could they not? The objection to Megrahi’s release, as articulated by Frum, is that they didn’t pound the table more, not that they weren’t kept informed. Even so, this is the same M.O. The One followed during the Iran uprising, isn’t it? He keeps his mouth shut until a critical mass of public outrage is reached, then he creeps behind the podium and offers tepid denunciations. Way to lead, champ.

Of course the filthy liar in the White House knew. The “anger” at not being informed was to disguise the fact that the bastard didn’t object. Had GWB been in office, it would have been clear that the American position was against any release.
The real question is if the scandal about to bring down portions of the British govt is going to extend to outrage here for the filthy lair not fighting against release.

In a way, this is good news. The two options were that the filthy liar in the White House was, indeed, out of the loop on such an controversial move OR that the world leaders now think so little of the American government they do this kind of thing without including the US administration in the diplomatic process.
This way, at least we know that America still has some say in world affairs- we just have a rat bastard traitor and filthy liar leading the nation! So rest well tonight!!!

You seem to be forgetting the Clinton legacy. The Clinton administration ignored the GWOT, instead treating each incident of terrorism (including the first WTC bombing) as nothing more than a crime scene. Upon leaving office, the pardons sold for Hillary’s benefit included Puerto Rican terrorists who would help her with the NYC vote. The crowning point in the Clinton Legacy was the 9/11/01 atrocities that would not have been as easy to pull off without very bad public policy made for political correctness over national security. Hillary is just as blind to the truth in these matters.

I’m willing to believe that The Obama really is not in the loop, that he is off shoot’n hoops, in a meeting, making a speech, traveling, something, and staff is left to handle the problems. (I’m thinking Somalia pirates here, or Afghanistan, as an examples.)
When staff gets Obama in a meeting, his response is to call for opinions, get discussion going, give some vague summary, and tell staff to get to work. Meanwhile staff is saying ‘get to work on what?’
When it blows up, and Obama has to respond, itsa ‘nother speech read off the teleprompter.

I don’t disagree one bit with what you are saying. I just think that she would distance herself from this soon as politically expedient. This could get too viral.
