Poll: What was the Obamateurism of the Week?
posted at 9:00 am on September 6, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
I finally got around to getting the weekly poll together after procrastinating for a while this weekend, but thankfully not as long as Obama has on planning ObamaCare. It’s easy to understand how he’s forgotten to get around to it. Heck, his efforts to reach out to stoodents pewpils schoochildren kids kept him from figuring out when they would actually be in the classroom. I guess it’s best to actually read schedules before amending them. The President could just hire a consultant to review these things, but that public/private interaction could be the worst thing in the world … or the best … depending on whom Obama’s addressing and why.
Previous “winners”:
- Getting all wee-wee’d up
- The “public option” is just like the Post Office!
- We’re going to listen to other people’s ideas, except that people who disagree should shut up
- Snitch Central for ObamaCare dissenters
- Rushing legislation bad in 2004, essential in 2009
- Obama opines on Gates arrest without “having all the facts”
- Obama salutes the Ghana flag
- Obama jokes about Alaska sale with Russians
- Obama uses union and DNC plants at health-care town hall
- Obama plants a question on Iran with HuffPo
- Change in Iran coming because “Obviously, after the speech I made in Cairo…”
- Flashing his soles to the camera while talking to Netanyahu
- “If you actually took the number of Muslim Americans, we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”
- “We can no longer afford to spend as if deficits do not matter and waste is not our problem.”
- Siccing Tim Geithner and Charlie Rangel on tax cheats
- Phony Churchill quote on torture throws Grandpa under the bus
- Torture probe flip-flop
- Obama covers up IHS while quoting Jesus
- Austrian is a language?
- Obama bows to the Saudi king
- 1908 Model T got better gas mileage than today’s SUVs

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at obamaisms@edmorrissey.com with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.

Jones blames Beck and ‘whitey’……. there’s already a website….. http://www.standwithvan.com
For my money………. DO NOT LET THIS GO – It’s not over.
Do not lose sight of Van Jones, his associates and ‘community organizations’. This piece of Communist trash WILL resurface – guaranteed. He’s a danger to the internal peace of The USA, liberty and your freedom…….
So are Obama and his so-called underlings.
DO NOT LET UP PRESSURE ON THIS ADMINISTRATION AND ANYONE SUPPORTING THESE PEOPLE !
Next political targets of opportunity need to be Mark Lloyd (FCC) AND Cass Sunstein (Regulatory Czar) – they’re as dangerous (if not more so) than good ‘ol Mr. Jones.
God Bless America.

This is just out from Tapper at ABC. It’s not quite putrid, just nearly so. Imagine an American, reporter or not, not showing some outrage at a commie in the US gov’t. Shame on you Tapper for this tepid work. How did Jones get past security at the gate of the WH Jake? If you’re not gonna ask the tough questions, go home. Tapper is defending himself on Twitter, but it’s an epic fail for the MSM, and a fail for him. Disgusted.
I was about to link to his post, but it seems to have disappeared?? Was titled Van Jones resigns.
JiangxiDad on September 6, 2009 at 9:25 AM
Right now stands at only 13% (35 votes). He’s been selling a huge health care plan that he hasn’t even made yet! Seems like a clear choice to me.

“He still works @ the White House.”–short lifespan
Of course Jones blames those Republican @ssholes he claimed to have apologized to, though all he did was lie about his record.
And the AP (Breitbart) slant the story towards those bitter Republicans with hard hearts who didn’t accept the “apologies” from Jones.
WHERE’S THE APOLOGY FROM THE WHITE HOUSE?
As if Obama has the pelotas to BUCK UP where the buck stops.
Obama failed to fire Jones. Don’t let that go.
Goes to show, TRUTH TO POWER works when persistently applied, O ye of little faith. Rumble, thunder, lightning.
Impeach Fascism
Impeach Fraud
Impeach Obama
America can not afford this trillions upon trillion dollar debt for slavery that Obama’s selling. And he will take a pound of flesh for “health care” government involvement.
Given the lost finger bit off by Obama’s man, what school would go on to broadcast MORE Obama when the one fails to even apologize for advocating this violence? Parents need to confront their school boards because if indeed schools have a “no tolerance for violence” code, Obama’s broken it.

We’re in a no-shooting civil war. The vast majority of the media chose sides a long time ago. The notion of an “objective” media is just that, a notion. Those that won’t choose sides (publicly) remind me of Switzerland’s situation in WWII. It’s not honorable. In regards to Tapper and a few others, what is the point of insisting/pretending to be the only voice of reason left, based on the idea that there are always two sides to a story.
Here’s my take on Tapper on Jones: Jones is bad, but so are birthers, so there’s no clarity here, moral or otherwise. That’s a great help Jake. Clarity doesn’t descend from the sky, it’s created inside our brains! Use yours. Anyway, I’m just ranting to the ether. It is what it is.
btw, Tapper once said that since he comments on HuffPo, that he’d also comment on HA. I don’t know if he does so.

I believe we no longer need to obsess over the MSM. They have moved themselves into the realm of major irrelevancy. I think they are now starting to realize that fact.
The ratings for the broadcast MSM and the circulation numbers for the print media have been in a freefall, and continue their decline. I believe those numbers are approaching a level that represents the preaching-to-the-choir base of liberals whose minds would not be changed by facts in any case.
A vast majority of citizens now oppose the health care bill, despite the MSM’s bias.
A significant number of people are turning out for tea parties and townhall meetings, despite the MSM’s bias.
A significant number of people showed their outrage over Van Jones, despite the MSM’s silence on the subject.
All these people are getting their information and facts from many places that no longer depend upon the MSM. The MSM have dug themselves into a hole that requires an immediate response to their economic situations. Their base audience is no longer enough to support their business models. Nobody to blame but themselves.
Time to ignore them totally and use the energy to support those areas that are effectively getting the real, truthful message out to the awakened public.
The MSM can go join the unemployment line they have helped to create.

If Obama disagreed with Van Jones, he should have fired him. Letting him resign won’t do anything to assuage the anger that erupted when he was hired in the first place, and makes it look like Obama didn’t want to let him go… Van Jones now looks like the bigger/better man than Obama, because Jones fell on his own sword, rather than having the One throw him under a bus. Obama never lets an opportunity to fail get past him.

There are certain truths that are part of “liberal” dogma and one of those is that Joe McCarthy must be demonized for holding the Far Left up to ridicule in the late 1940′s and 1950′s in exposing practicing communists at the time regardless of how accurate he was in exposing them.
I think in college most journalists learned this as well. Thus journalists would rather attack an individual for hunting out of season, for example, than to attack them for being a practicing communist or Marxist. No journalist wants to make it appear he/she agrees with McCarthy.

BuckeyeSam on September 6, 2009 at 10:45 AM
Found this @ Ace, that reiterates a point I’ve been making. Anyone with a shred of honesty would give Michael Savage credit where it is long past due.
Not taking away from the effect of adamant persistence as exercised by Beck, just note well the chronology of events as well as pure vs. relative convictions of TRUTH TO POWER. Both Savage and Beck made firm stances, but Savage was there from the beginning, YEARS before attacked by Obatomized Leftists, American or English. And as Beck has yet to speak out in defense of Michael Savage, Beck’s attack against Van Jones required monetary motivation before Beck would attack.
Love Beck is fine. Protecting one’s investment is the human way of survival. Making an honest living is an honorable way of life. So morons need not assume I’m attacking Beck, as my record shows I have never posted anti-Beck sentiment.
Michael Savage has requested help, moral support. Now where’s the honorable solidarity behind those protecting our Constitution? God bless them all.
