Protester to congressman: You want my money for ObamaCare? Come and take it
posted at 7:58 pm on September 5, 2009 by Allahpundit
I don’t think she means this in the molon labe/“pry it from my cold dead hands, sucka” sense but rather the “be man enough to act like the thief that you are” sense. Which, judging from the crowd reaction, is a pretty popular sense these days.
I wonder which Fox show will be the first to book her. Smart money’s on Cavuto!

Who’s she talking to? The better townhall videos I’ve seen (Lloyd Dogette, the Marine from Washington – “Well, THANK you..” , McCaskill videos, the audience laughing at “deficit neutral” Carnahan) – are audience INTERACTION with their representative, not performance art.

Very manly. ‘Tis a shame there is a decided lack of manliness in the GOP men, though.

This Texas historian just shakes his head. The “Come and take it” banner was an important part of the Texas fight for independence. The Mexican army demanded their cannon be returned, but the Texians…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Gonzales
As Moore returned, the Texians raised a homemade white banner, with an image of the cannon painted in black in the center and the words “Come & Take It”. They then fired their cannon at the Mexican camp. Realizing that he was outnumbered and outgunned, Castañeda led his troops back to Bexar. The troops were gone before the Texians could reload and fire the cannon a second time. In his report to Ugartechea, Castañeda wrote “since the orders from your Lordship were for me to withdraw without compromising the honor of Mexican arms, I did so”.[

Awesome. Without our consent and participation they can do nothing. The leftist parasites can only succeed when the productive in this country meekly cave to their demands.
Oppose them on everything. Scorched earth. Lets make the country ungovernable for Obama and his Marxists in Congress. Make them use force to impose their agenda on us! They won’t dare because then the reckoning will begin in earnest.
elduende on September 5, 2009 at 8:29 PM
Most of these great Americans have to be Ron Paul supporters. I can’t imagine the Bush/McCain crowd cares too much about the spending/deficits.
It is encouraging to see the anger. I figured that Obama would ram through his agenda with little opposition, when he was elected. Great to see.

The women – WOMEN – showing up and delivering public beat-downs like this, (especially in the age of Youtube!) is incredibly heartening for me. This one from yesterday and a bunch of others I’ve seen, where the women are just shredding these clowns is reaching a lot of people. When the mama’s not happy, nobody’s happy.

Liberals try to make the moral case for government welfare by claiming that majority rule makes something moral. Why would it have been wrong for the politician to take her money by force but moral for him to vote to make the IRS threaten to throw her in jail if she didn’t give it up? As Alexis de Tocqueville wrote, “I have always thought that servitude of the regular, quiet, and gentle kind which I have just described might be combined more easily than is commonly believed with some of the outward forms of freedom, and that it might even establish itself under the wing of the sovereignty of the people.”
His point is that claiming that some law is the result of “the sovereignty of the people” does not make it moral. This country was not founded on the principle that legislative acts are moral by their nature, but rather that “government derives its just powers by the consent of the governed.” The only way that people can consent to being governed is if they have a choice. A truly liberty-inspired individual wants all people to have a choice as to what kind of government they prefer.
JohnJ on September 5, 2009 at 9:05 PM
Wouldn’t it be neat that the law of “unintended consequences” for Obama and Democrats trying to force their Marxist/Socialist and Fascist agenda upon us….
… is that the American people finally wake up to the graft, waste, and abuse of the Constitution these scumbag career politicians and the elite political bureaucrats are doing, and these Town Hall Meetings and Tea Parties become a never ending cause.
Just think, conversations in Washington might become….

Just looking at her, you know she doesn’t just show up to hear her own voice or get a 15 minutes of fame on some YouTube video.
She’s a real girl dealing with real things, something the community organizers cannot fathom.

She’s America, like me and you, just wanting some sanity, some common sense, returned to a world twirled out of control.
