Video: Beck and Horowitz on radicals in the White House
posted at 7:48 pm on September 4, 2009 by Allahpundit
Not a must-see, especially if you’ve already read the boss’s book, but he deserves a little extra free publicity to end a week where (a) he was proven only too right about Van Jones and (b) big media did everything it could to suppress that fact. When Barry O finally does pull the trap door on Jones, the press narrative will be that Beck went after him simply because of Color of Change’s boycott (which is untrue, since the boycott followed GB’s first attacks). But there’s an important civic wrinkle to this story. Jones may fade but the czar loophole will remain — or will it?
“In the wake of these recent revelations, the president should suspend any further appointments of so-called czars until Congress has an opportunity to examine the background and responsibilities of these individuals and to determine the constitutionality of such appointments,” said Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), Chairman of the House Republican Conference, who called on Jones to resign.
The czar-attacks have begun to catch fire far beyond the Beltway. In town hall meetings across the country this August, questioners slammed the administration’s advisers, claiming that they allowed the White House to wield unchecked power…
[T]he number of czars in the Obama administration, say historians, is unprecedented.
“There just seems to be a few more in the Obama administration,” said University of Vermont professor John Burke, an authority on presidential transitions. “And they are using them particularly as a vehicle for their early policy initiatives.”
Exit question: Why isn’t Pence’s argument a ubiquitous talking point from Republicans?

tick, tock, tick, tock… where’s the Beck basher

For purposes of facilitating discussion the radicals in the White House should be divided into the moron radicals and the psychopath radicals.
MB4 on September 4, 2009 at 7:52 PM
Saw this interview and have been following David Horowitz on his frontpagemag.comwebsite for quite a while. Considering that he is an ex-radical/liberal, the man knows what he’s talking about. Great insights and info on how to fight and defeat the bastards that have Quislinged the nation.
J.J. Sefton on September 4, 2009 at 7:53 PM
Hehe
I think MacDaddy would have had a few czars of his own… Let’s face it, there are some progressive GOPers that wouldn’t mind having the authoritah that Teh One wants now…
Upstater85 on September 4, 2009 at 7:53 PM
I hope Mr. Beck has more information on more people in this administration and then I hope he rubs the MSM’s face in it.
Cindy Munford on September 4, 2009 at 7:54 PM
I think I’m going to have to start watching Beck. This week has blown my mind (and my misconceptions).
Spirit of 1776 on September 4, 2009 at 7:55 PM
Without Michelle and Rush and Glenn and Sarah and Laura I. etc…………we’d all still be under the Hammer of Team Obama’s Fascists – this is very very scary and we owe Michelle and Glen et al so much gratitude……..
Cinday Blackburn on September 4, 2009 at 7:56 PM
I’m sure the Van Jones smackdown was just the first shot across the bow.
Does anyone know if Charles Johnson’s head exploded yet?

Welcome. He is a bit hard to watch for 60 minutes straight. I DVR it and watch in two sittings.

Outstanding interview and discussion.
Fletch54 on September 4, 2009 at 7:58 PM
even my obama/pelosi worshipping congressman didn’t seem to really feel the love for the czars. so maybe Van Jones “fox in the hen house” un-vetting prompt congress to do something about czars.
nah. they’ll just allow more cabinet posts. govt. will still grow.
kelley in virginia on September 4, 2009 at 7:59 PM
Yeah, his style isn’t for me all the time, but when I have time to sit down and watch, I agree with a lot of the message and even like some of the humor.
Upstater85 on September 4, 2009 at 7:59 PM
I think we need to stop calling them “Czars” and rename them what they really are “Commissars”.
elduende on September 4, 2009 at 8:00 PM
Respectfully disagree…I thought this Horowitz interview was a definite must see. I found it to be an exceptional summary of the roots and objectives of the modern radicals. And, Horowitz provided the most concise reasoning that I’ve seen -to date – (on “mainstream TV”) as to why it’s not out of bounds to use the words “Obama” and “commie” in the same sentence.
Bravo Glenn, to one hell of a week.
aquaviva on September 4, 2009 at 8:02 PM
That part about accumulating power is really telling especially wrt to the expansion of czar authority.
Spirit of 1776 on September 4, 2009 at 8:03 PM
He’s got more info and he’ll use it…He is extremely careful and triple checks sources, which is why it seems drawn out….I think Sustein is next…or maybe Holdren. I also think Valerie Jarrett will be the cherry on top of the sundae. I will repeat myself….you get her, you’ve got them all.

Glenn Beck has been awesome and will continue to be.
He keeps impressing me each week on radio and TV.
I can’t wait for his new book, Arguing with Idiots. The book cover is awesome.
cubachi on September 4, 2009 at 8:06 PM
I am still at work when he is on but I listen to him on the radio. When he gets a bit maudlin I find that my little ear flaps close all on their own. He and his cohorts are incredible funny.
Cindy Munford on September 4, 2009 at 8:06 PM
Do republicans have ubiquitous talking points anymore? Where is there health care plan talking points?
ninjapirate on September 4, 2009 at 8:07 PM
Mr. Horowitz is living proof that “liberalism” is indeed curable. The sad thing is it took the murder of a friend at the hands of the black pussycats.
McBride on September 4, 2009 at 8:10 PM
Sometimes I get a little put off by Glenn Becks style, especially on the TV show, but his radio show is hilarious! He’s really quick and his sidekicks are funny too.
anniekc on September 4, 2009 at 8:10 PM
Two thumbs up for the Glen Beck show. He did not flinch, stood tall, and questioned boldly.

the_nile on September 4, 2009 at 8:13 PM
Yep. Kudos to Beck for doing what the other major media outlets are supposed to do, but won’t.
Keep shining the light on these cockroaches, Glenn. We’re depending on you.
And thanks.
AZCoyote on September 4, 2009 at 8:16 PM
what? did McCain know something that the rest of our Republican leaders did not know? i don’t know why those people can’t get it together. they don’t have to say much at this point–just sort of point Beck et al in the right direction.
kelley in virginia on September 4, 2009 at 8:16 PM
Confronting his enemies is not his forte.
thomasaur on September 4, 2009 at 8:17 PM
Is this really Allah speaking of Glenn Beck???? “…he deserves a little extra free publicity to end a week where (a) he was proven only too right about Van Jones and (b) big media did everything it could to suppress that fact.”
.
That’s rich. What’s next?? “Coming up after these words from our sponsors… ‘Hell has frozen like a popsicle”
.
Love that part about “big media did everything it could to suppress it” … not to mention all the help from the “little media” like you, Allah?

Kudos to MM too and of course all of the pundits that haven’t been pulling a Frumker.

It would have torpedoed his overall strategy of an honorable defeat.

Horowitz is kryptonite to radicals.
Great new term they coined for Obama’s team tonight “The Alinsky Left“

we’re the only ones who know what “alinsky left” means (other than the alinsky true-believers)
kelley in virginia on September 4, 2009 at 8:24 PM
If there is one positive about this administration (I had to think real hard) is that the radical left tactics have been revealed to mainstream America. Before all this I had heard of Alinski but did not know his steps to revolution.
Now that we know the enemy we can take them down.
HoustonRight on September 4, 2009 at 8:24 PM

“Rules for Radical’s” has been on the top 100 bestseller list over at Amazon alot lately.
It’s at number 78 right now.
I spend alot of time and money over at Amazon.

God Bless Glenn Beck and ALL who are doing their level best to expose this creep show for what it is. While he can be a bit overwhelming – I say this affectionately after listening to him on radio for years – I just listen/watch while doing other tasks OR ELSE MY EYES WILL BLEED from the info overload.
LoneStarGal on September 4, 2009 at 8:32 PM
My husband and I agree that we would love to have dinner with David Horowitz. The perspective he sheds on this administration is invaluable. Here’s this 60′s radical and son of card-carrying Communists, who is a champion against so-called “liberalism”. He backs down to no one, speaks at universities that protest him and he knows plenty.
Hey Democrats! You’re party has been hijacked and you are the tools. That is unless you fight for your country over party identity.

Hmmm. Beck mentions meeting Van Jones at some Time 100 dinner. Perhaps their feud started at the dinner? I wonder.

“Rules for Radicals” is contained within an old college textbook of my brother’s, which I didn’t even realize I had on my shelves until recently. The book I have must have been considered an Alinsky bible of sorts back in the seventies.

thomasaur on September 4, 2009 at 8:44 PM
According to Beck, Allah, this is unnecessary. The Dems are doing it for the GOP. How sweet! Sen. Byrd sent a letter to Obama regarding his concerns about the czar appointments in the spring of this year. (You really need to pay closer attention when watching Glenn’s show. /sarc)

While Allah’s in an open minded mood, how about posting a thread about the propaganda machine “FACTCHECK.ORG CAPITULATES- Admits error in Obama Kenyan Citizen Analysis” FactCheck.org was FORCED TO CORRECT THEIR LYING CLAIMS ABOUT OBAMA’S BRITISH/KENYAN CITIZENSHIP AFTER SKILLED ATTORNEY/RESEARCHER LEO DONOFRIO CAUGHT THEM IN THEIR LIES Of course that was followed by the obligatory “scrubbing” of all mistakes. Fortunately for us there is the WayBack Machine Archives & cached copies on Leo Donofrio’s site

Right. Nothing to see here, just a personal disagreement – little family feud.
Spirit of 1776 on September 4, 2009 at 8:46 PM
Obama’s favorite book, “Native Son” by Richard Wright. Summary: Poor Black Chicago boy rapes and murders two women because he has been oppressed by the man. Communists defend him.
He is the annointed one.

Spirit of 1776 on September 4, 2009 at 8:50 PM
A feud does not have to personal. There can be a feud over ideologies.
terryannonline on September 4, 2009 at 8:52 PM
Which would be impossible with your wikideology.

After watching this can there be any doubt that the enemies we have fought for the past fifty years have captured our government without firing a shot! Kruschev used to say that they would bury us and our fall would be from within! Seems he was right. What do we do now that there is no doubt about Obama and his merry little band of communist czars? Has all the blood shed by our forefathers for freedom been shed in vain?
Marco on September 4, 2009 at 8:53 PM
This was a fantastic interview. Glenn really knows how to ask great questions and allow the person to talk extensively.
Horowitz’s experiences as a radical leftist should serve as learning material for the right to combat the idiocy of the left.
cubachi on September 4, 2009 at 8:54 PM
If I were to feud over an ideology it would be a personal feud and ideology.
thomasaur on September 4, 2009 at 8:54 PM
In my opinion….the progressives infultrated both sides of the aisle. Sometimes it is hard to tell exactly which ones…or with all the claims of “racism” being thrown around, the non-progressives are afraid to get the label. But that was Obama’s plan all along…to label anyone who disagrees.
Glad to see Glenn Beck getting some respect here on hotair. To me, he is one of a few (like Michelle) that are willing to put the truth out there.

He’s been hitting on many of the czars. I think Van Jones is simply the biggest and easiest (and very dangerous) target. I’m pretty sure the other czars don’t have police records. Nevertheless, he’s spent literally hours on Sunstein, Holdren, Lloyd, the Apollo Aliance, ACORN, and the like. I’m pretty sure there is nothing personal here, just a guy who is looking where no one else is, asking questions no one else is. In fact, as AP pointed out Tapper is the only one even now, asking tough questions. Tapper if you’re out there, thank you.

terryannonline on September 4, 2009 at 9:16 PM
He was talking about 4 ‘Commisars’ and hadn’t zeroed in on a particular target until it stepped into the clearing.
thomasaur on September 4, 2009 at 9:19 PM
Your exit question is exactly what I asked on a local politcal forum.
I am aware of only 2 members of Congress that have shown any interest in this troubling matter. Could it be that if one lives in a glass house, one shouldn’t throw stones?
This czar program, especially with people like Van Jones, should be causing ear-splitting outrage from one end of the country to the other! If Van Jones is dismissed, this issue should be reported on every day up to the 2012 elections.

The kettles on the flame.
In my couple/four years of listening to Beck, I have never hoped more than now, that he is a complete fool. But he’s not.
If this pot boils to hard, there is going to be blood on the streets. Can ANYONE imagine the American public is going to roll over for the crap that is starting to seep out of Washington? Christ, we have cannibals at tea parties as it is. Even electing them out of office is going to be a herculean task. People are gonna pop.
