Perfect: Van Jones also a Mumia supporter; Update: Michelle and Beck discuss Mumia connection
posted at 2:48 pm on September 4, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
Via JWF and Gabe Malor, who have to be wondering whether Barack Obama appointed Van Jones as the Green Jobs Czar as some sort of blogger full-employment program. After being a Communist and a 9/11 Truther, will Jones’ support for cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal even register? Maybe it will at the White House:
More than 150 demonstrators marched from 14th Street and Broadway to the Oakland Federal Building to demand that the Justice Department re-open its corruption investigation of the Philadelphia Police Department.
Supporters of Mumia Abu-Jamal, a death row inmate convicted for the 1981 shooting death of a Philadelphia police officer, said the protest was called after the Supreme Court on Monday rejected claims that Abu-Jamal, a former radio journalist and Black Panther, did not receive a fair trial.
“We knew there was another event going on, but the timing of the court decision is what dictated when the protest was held,” said Van Jones, a San Francisco civil rights lawyer who helped coordinate the protest march.
Jones said about 15 protesters occupied the rotunda at the Federal Building on Clay Street in an act of civil disobedience with the hope they would be arrested.
What will be Jones’ excuse this time? He didn’t check out the fine print on the “Free Mumia” picket signs before he held one?
Major Garrett reported on Twitter that Rep. Mike Pence said: “Van Jones should resign and if he is unwilling to do so, the president should demand his resignation.” One would think that the Obama administration would hasten to distance itself from both Truthers and supporters of cop-killers. I imagine James Crowley may be having an ironic laugh at this today.
Update: Of course, Michelle was all over this last night:
I missed this last night at the State Fair.

Van Jones is a Communist-No Ifs, No Buts-Valerie Jarrett Has Been “Watching”
http://newzeal.blogspot.com/2009/09/obama-to-van-jones.html
This is stunning-a 2008 audio of Van Jones explicitly stating that the “Green Jobs” movement will be used to push through “revolutionary” change.
I defy anyone to listen to this and tell me that Van Jones is not still a communist.
Even more stunning is the only days old admission by “the other half of Obama’s Brain” Valerie Jarrett, that “we” have been watching Van Jones for some years and are “so happy to recruit him to the White house”
I suggest to readers that they check out this post.
It explains that Jarrett’s late father-in-law Vernon Jarrett worked closely with a certain Frank Marshall Davis in a Communist Party front in late 1940s Chicago.
Frank Marshall Davis-a covert Communist Party member then went to Hawaii and ended up mentoring the young Barack Obama.
When Obama moves to Chicago, Vernon Jarrett uses his newspaper columns to promote Obama’s political career.
The Chicago Communist Party mucks in as well and writes Vernon a lovely eulogy when he dies a few years ago.
Then coincidentally Valerie Jarrett hires Michelle Obama, becomes friends with Barack and ends up advising him in the White House.
Now Valerie Jarrett is overjoyed at bringing another leftist into the White House to keep Barack company.

Thinking the same. Smerconish was actually a terrifically vocal opponent of the free-Mumia set years back. This entailed (rightfully) smearing all those who stood up for or lent support to Mumia. Now he’s a useful idiot tool of The drONE, positioning himself as the bald Peggy Noonan (isn’t Arlen Specter proud?) He ought to come up off his felating pads and ask BO how he could possibly justify recruiting a devout marxist truther cop killer devotee into his administration. Or as they say at MSNBC, “Mr. President, how can we help you suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.”
Exit question for Mr. Smerconish: Did you stand on the endless pathos of Daniel Faulkner’s widow only to use it as a leg up to poke your head into BO’s rectum?

We definitely need some sort of recall function to get rid of the president and his pack of communists. Same for senators and congressmen.
Yes I know it can work against both parties, but jeez, I think this is certainly one scumbag we do NOT need in the white house compiling a pack of socialists, fascists, and communists.
Does the the white house need to burn to get the point across?

Czars not only don’t need congressional approval, they don’t need to pass FBI background checks. That’s why Obama has appointed dozens of these creeps in this way.
New law, please. Any appointee of an elected official who is paid by the U.S. taxpayer must pass a background check. Good god, it’s so sad that this even has to be suggested.

If you were NOT a radical, marxist person with an agenda to destroy the capitalist, Christian-based America, would you surround yourself with radical, communist, anti-white, anti-capitalist, liberal marxist Czars?
Side thought:
Wouldn´t you just love to be a fly on the wall at Camp David and hear Michelle and Obama screaming over the “outing” of the Obama administration?
If someone would do an interview with Michelle on the state of the Obama administration and let her true black radical, I hate whitey feelings come out it would be the end of the Obama administration.
albill on September 4, 2009 at 3:42 PM
This story doesn’t end soon. Sure Van Jones is going to step down, but now there is a ton of credibility for Beck and others to lay into all the other wingnuts that have been brought in the White House. It isn’t going to be easy to play the “Oh that Beck is just wacko” card now.

A Politico article on the topic featured many lib accusations of “Racists!” I know, what a shock.
Django on September 4, 2009 at 3:57 PM
Meh – I don’t think you should be ostracized from polite society for calling for a conviction to be reviewed and/or a new trial to occur. The implication there is that the courts are imperfect and some police/prosecutor combinations are less than angelic. Sure, plenty of the Mumia folks are nutjobs, but wanting a new trial doesn’t exactly carry with it the same baggage as saying that the federal government purposely let thousands of its civilians die (or murdered them) due to foreign policy goals. Focus on what’s relevant rather than using the shotgun approach (so to speak).
Likewise, his name-calling is a bit understandable in context. After the impeachment and Bush v. Gore, liberals felt that they lost power due to an unwillingness to play dirty (which explains a lot of what we’ve seen on the left over the years of compensating for this). Van Jones’ profanity alludes to that sentiment. Is it helpful? No. But many elected officials have said similar things. Perhaps we should hold appointed “czars” to higher standards, but, if not, this isn’t a cardinal sin.
Being a Truther is, as is being a Communist at the helm of a government power grab.

I think Sarah will post something after Zero’s speech to Congress. My guess is that she’ll offer a rather scathing rebuttal to certain points brought up during Nobama’s address. I don’t think she’s going to waste a lot of time on Van Jones when her focus has been on Obamacare.

So what if he gets fired! There is STILL billions of our tax dollars going to his groups that have to be cut off. If that is not done, then they win!

Once it is said and done, however, we need to learn what vetting process, if any, allowed this man to have a job at the White House. If we call into doubt the process, then all czars are fair game for scrutiny. Glenn Beck and the new media will unleash on each and every one.
