Perfect: Van Jones also a Mumia supporter; Update: Michelle and Beck discuss Mumia connection

posted at 2:48 pm on September 4, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Via JWF and Gabe Malor, who have to be wondering whether Barack Obama appointed Van Jones as the Green Jobs Czar as some sort of blogger full-employment program.   After being a Communist and a 9/11 Truther, will Jones’ support for cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal even register?  Maybe it will at the White House:

More than 150 demonstrators marched from 14th Street and Broadway to the Oakland Federal Building to demand that the Justice Department re-open its corruption investigation of the Philadelphia Police Department.

Supporters of Mumia Abu-Jamal, a death row inmate convicted for the 1981 shooting death of a Philadelphia police officer, said the protest was called after the Supreme Court on Monday rejected claims that Abu-Jamal, a former radio journalist and Black Panther, did not receive a fair trial.

“We knew there was another event going on, but the timing of the court decision is what dictated when the protest was held,” said Van Jones, a San Francisco civil rights lawyer who helped coordinate the protest march.

Jones said about 15 protesters occupied the rotunda at the Federal Building on Clay Street in an act of civil disobedience with the hope they would be arrested.

What will be Jones’ excuse this time?  He didn’t check out the fine print on the “Free Mumia” picket signs before he held one?

Major Garrett reported on Twitter that Rep. Mike Pence said: “Van Jones should resign and if he is unwilling to do so, the president should demand his resignation.”  One would think that the Obama administration would hasten to distance itself from both Truthers and supporters of cop-killers.  I imagine James Crowley may be having an ironic laugh at this today.

Update: Of course, Michelle was all over this last night:

I missed this last night at the State Fair.

I was listening to the Roger Hedgecock show on the way home from the store a while ago.

He played a voice mail from Van Jones to him after talking about him a little on yesterday’s show.

They had to bleep about every fourth word, and Jones
actually threatened him if he didn’t quit talking about him.

I thought it was a spoof when I heard it, but it was implied that it was genuine.

If he did that to a minor-leaguer like Hedgecock, he must already have a Black Panther hit squad going after Michelle and Beck.

LegendHasIt on September 5, 2009 at 1:05 AM

Van Jones is still holding his position and Barackus Caesar is still inaccessible, and apparently wholly disinterested in the affair since he hasn’t personally uttered one solitary word to address this controversy.

I selected in the poll that ‘Obama will stick with him, regardless’.

I will be right. Van Jones is going to remain right where he is at.

Agreed. It seems to be heading that way

On Sunday on Meet the depressed , McCain( dad) will come to his defense, calling him a family man !
Which will be followed by McCain ( babe) swooning and Sherri Sheperd drooling over Van Jones on The Spew, on Tuesday.
Everything will be OK after Van Jones appears on Oprah’s show on Wednesday
Later , he will get a shoutout from the Prez himself during his teleprompter readout @ big mommas ( Pelosi) house
On Thursday He will be Best person in the world on KO’s hatefest
And finally on Friday He will be on all Morning shows, singing, dancing, reading poetry, baking cookies and showing off his wife and kids. just like a regular family man.

Not quite. Finally, on Saturday, 9/12, the Tea Party Movement marches on Washington, D.C. If Van Jones remains in office a week from today, something tells me these people are going to go nuts. I won’t be in Washington, but I will be in Quincy, Illinois with a Tea Party group: Patriots on the Prairie. If Obama wants to cool things down, he’ll “politely” (Charles Krauthammer–he’s such a kidder) ask Mr. Jones to resign. If not, then stay tuned.

labwriter on September 5, 2009 at 2:46 AM

yada, yada, yada…all this talk about Van Jones and nothing will be done because the Republicans are gutless and the media don’t care. Obama will just ignore all of this and he will still be an adviser. When the people of this country finally wake up, it will be too late! Our only hope is that new, conservative Republicans will run against the Dems in 2010 and actually stand up to this Marxist.

I think there are signs that there will be some movement on this Van Jones appointment–and I’m not exactly a Pollyanna about O’Bummer and his crew. However, our Missouri Senator, Kit Bond (Republican) has posted a letter he sent on Sept. 4 to his subcommittee chairman calling for a Senate oversight hearings on our Mr. Jones.

Here’s a quote from Bond’s website:

U.S. Senator Kit Bond, ranking member of the Green Jobs and the New Economy Subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, today called for a Congressional oversight hearing probing the fitness of a senior White House official.

Here’s a link to his website that has the full text of the letter. It’s something–it’s a start.

What Tea Party March ? Obama will never KNOW about it . He is only allowed to watch pre-screened pre-recorded MSNBC programs. His blackberry is programmed to nudge him to HuffPo and Kos exclusively. He is allowed access to only Newsweek (covers), O magazine and the Red Book.
Good luck getting noticed by the # 1 in WH

Agree. Obama will do everything he can to keep this guy in place. He is the catalyst for consolidating and spreading the revolution.

In a way, this guy is Obama’s Che. So they are banking on him getting away with his generic apology as a way to cover all former sins.

As for his other comments he made before joining Obama’s team, Jones said: “If I have offended anyone with statements I made in the past, I apologize.”

As Byron York points out, the MSM will simply not touch him. They have joined in on the stonewall.

Even the old bloodsport media gotcha game has changed when it comes to certain key players. They see this as a play for all the marbles.

Everything else will flow from there.

Napolitano knowingly or unwittingly laid the groundwork for this.

justltl on September 5, 2009 at 7:45 AM

Incidentally, the way to counter such a move would be to anticipate it and lay it out in advance, so that, should it happen, the finger would point to Obama, et al.

Of course, whoever spoke about such a possibility would be labelled as a nut, but so be it.

Why so passive? Why so hopeless? I guess if you’d lived in 1775, you would have stayed at home, hiding under the kitchen table. If people would get off the couch and go to one of these rallies, they would find out that there’s so much passion out there against what O’Bummer is doing. I would rather tap into the passion than the apathy.

Take a listen to something Michael Savage recorded last March. Obviously, as he says, “you schmucks” (and I include myself in that) weren’t listening back then. Well, some of us at least are listening now.

OK, so I can’t get any of my links to work for some reason. Go here for the Michael Savage video about Van Jones. It’s worth hearing.

Van Jones is NOT the first liberal to embrace the Mumia crap. I just don’t get the outrage. During the campaign, Obama’s radical friends were exposed. He still got elected. I just don’t see how getting more shrill about Obama’s radical circle of friends is going to help the GOP.

Now for something completely off topic…

If ever you have wondered if you have truly heard men play rock and roll…

Get yourself a copy of the Rolling Stones Exile On Main Street, find a dank basement room, crack open a bottle of wine, put the stereo on maximum volume, and listen to the smack drip off the head of Keith Richards guitar.

If the same type of gutless, neutered republicans take over as are now in the congress there will be no trials. There won’t even be an investigation. They will want to “move on” so as to not draw attention to their own statist aims.
We must flush the party of these soulless cretins and replace them with people of honor and genuine love for liberty. Failing that we must abandon them utterly and start anew. It will be easier to fix the foundation than build a new fortress but we must be willing to hew the timbers and carve fresh cornerstones if needs be.

What amazed me in 2008 elections was the fact that Obama counted on the stupidity and wilful ignorance of American people, and 96% of black and 98% of youth voters obliged him. They not only obliged him but are proud that they did it.
Democracy is a dangerous thing. It is a system in which ten fools can defeat nine wise men Unless two fools wise up, wise men don’t stand a chance in this equation. Obama’s voters voted for him based on his skin-color and bare chest. They maybe informed but they have no knowledge. They can look but not see. They can hear but not listen. All Obama campaign did in 2008 was to distract them with a shiny object and it worked.
The whole paradigm is upside down. When we say democracy, we define it as by the ppl, of the ppl & for the ppl kind of system. When they say democracy, they are referring to Hugo Chavez style of elections and a Castro kind of government.

As for the ‘schmucks’ Dr S refers to, he did a cheeky piece on college and university courses . It was funny and sad at the same time.

You are right that you won’t hear a peep out of him. My guess is that he either go mesmerized by obmamam and his ericksonian hypnosis (it is more effective on weak minds) or he is angling for some type of position in the administration.

He just had ozero on his show a week or so ago. He isn’t going to jeapordize his ‘ratings’ by going against ozero on this.

fastestslug on September 6, 2009 at 1:11 AM

In a nutshell (with no yelling whatsoever)…

9/11 Truthers are a group of individuals who believe, profess and proclaim to any and all who will listen to them, that the George W. Bush administration (and GWB in particular) deliberately, with malice and forethought, caused the Twin Towers in New York City to be destroyed, thus killing 3,000 American citizens.

In other words, Truthers do not believe that 9/11 was a deliberate attack by enemies of our country, but rather was an inside job by President Bush for his own political purposes.

In my opinion, Truthers are insane people who need serious psychiatric counseling, together with frequent and heavy doses of anti-psychotic medication. (I suggest Haldol, followed with electric shock therapy.) In some cases, they may even require long-term hospitalization, if only to protect the rest of us from their delusionsal activities.

Truthers are appearing at Tea Party events, but this does not give them any credibility whatsoever. They are showing up to further their own cause and ridiculous President Bush conspiracy theories.

Van Jones (one of Obama’s personally appointed Czars) is a Truther, as well as a professed Communist.

Van Jones tried desperately to deny these facts with lame excuses.

Van Jones has now resigned his Czar position at the White House, due to the investigative reporting of Glenn Beck (a conservative Fox News TV host).

Van Jones is now exposed and disgraced. (Well, he’s exposed. Disgraced may be another matter. Time will tell.)

Hopefully, Obama will soon likewise be disgraced and also resign or be impeached. (One can certainly hope, anyway.)

I’m sure other Hot Air posters will provide better information to you.

GrannyDee on September 6, 2009 at 1:47 AM

Three-day weekend due to Labor Day, so Jones could even hang on until sometime Saturday afternoon — I’ll put down 4:30 p.m. EDT — when he’ll ‘resign’ the job to spend more time with his family and/or seek other promising job options outside the government.

“He is still working at the White House.”–Gibbs

Short shelf life.

Note well, Obama did not publicly reprimand Van Jones’ “@ssholes” reference to all Republicans. Obama’s photo scowl speaks 1000 words, none affectionate for America. His communist celebration with Communist China is still on, to hoist the ChiCom 60 years of torture flag over the White House south lawn to remind Americans what he has in store for us all. Obama’s “Sacrifice and Service” message means imprisonment and loss of body parts to pay for your crimes-of-liberty-thought. Obama hasn’t the foresight to have diplomatically engaged the Chicom celebration @ their own Embassy rather than our nation’s most honorable home lawn. Obama wee weed in glee to bring on the communist “glory”. Don’t piss in our face and tell us it’s raining, Joker.

We know better than to believe that this radicals views were unknown to those in power. They/Obama knew exactly what and who he was from the first moment his name was mentioned. These types are a direct reflection of what Obama is and what he seeks to impose upon us.
After reading what Obama said about the woman who raised him, his reaction to the arrest of a racist friend of his and his choice in Jones, it is clear that Obama is indeed a racist. His own words, actions and associates, to include his mentor of 22 years, the racist Rev. Wright, proves it beyond any reasonable doubt.
