Quotes of the day

“The Department of State announces the termination of a broad range of assistance to the government of Honduras as a result of the coup d’etat that took place on June 28…
The Department of State recognizes the complicated nature of the actions which led to June 28 coup d’etat in which Honduras’ democratically elected leader, President Zelaya, was removed from office. These events involve complex factual and legal questions and the participation of both the legislative and judicial branches of government as well as the military.
Restoration of the terminated assistance will be predicated upon a return to democratic, constitutional governance in Honduras.”
***
“Unfortunately, we won’t suffer a single minute for our decision. The people of Honduras, who have worked hard to establish a stable democracy so they can finally pull themselves out of abject poverty, will pay instead. They do not deserve this treatment from us. They deserve our praise and all the help we can possibly give them.
To borrow an oft-used Obamaism, let me be clear. Our government is demanding that the current government of Honduras violate its own laws to return a man to power who ignored the lawful orders of his own courts and deliberately attempted to violate the Honduran Constitution to satisfy his own desire to remain in office longer. Our position is shameful and wrong and it needs to change.
The President should turn around on this issue right now. He has put us on the side of tyrants and that is never a place the United States should be.”

Standing on your own 2 feet….REMARKABLE! Kudos to Honduras for standing up for their constitution no matter what those Communist Bastards say.
At least they won’t require any assistance from Hussein and his Posse of Clowns!

Never thought it would come to this, but here it is. Not just Honduras but its own.

Dude Obama is seriously doubling down on stupid at this point. I guarantee that this will come back to haunt his Marxist ass.

Dude. Taiwan. Japan. What about our country. Our Navy. The sanctity of the White House. This is INSANE.
With this man’s background and track record how politically tone deaf are they? Do they even care at this point?

If the US won’t provide aid, and spends its time making threats, then they have no reason to cooperate with the US government or IRS.

By God this is getting… nightmarish.
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine my country getting ready to destroy a Western capitalist democracy to impliment Marxist theory. It is like Revelations and America is the Beast, I am not a Christian but it seems apt.

Wow. This does not end well.
No wonder the Aussies are increasing Naval funding, and the Israelis, Colombians, Hondurans, and Taiwanese are banding together.
And look at the results of this Sunday’s elections in Japan.
This Commie flag thing is INSANE. This needs to be opposed extremely hard by our side.

Good Lord what will our Korean War vets be thinking?
elduende on September 4, 2009 at 2:10 AM
The Aussies, Japanese, and Israel have always counted on our strategic assets for their security. We are no long reliable. The F-22 would have given them a platform to make their enemies blink. The F-35 is a tactical fighter. We all have tactical fighters. What they needed was reach and the F-22 provided that for them.
What did Barry’s Congress do?…..EXPORT LICENSE DENIED.
Limerick on September 4, 2009 at 2:11 AM
If they do that so will theirs.
Can we demand that they fly the Stars and Stripes over the Forbidden City?
elduende on September 4, 2009 at 2:11 AM
Well to be fair L the Air Force classified the F-22 a “strategic platform” about 3 years ago and was denying our allies the opportunity to even “check” out the plane, it was such a game changer. It truly is the master of the skies for the next 20 years.

I’ve been meaning to see that movie. I heard great things.
elduende on September 4, 2009 at 2:18 AM
Well, I understand not wanting to send state of the art technology out, but we killed it. We declared it an unworthy platform. While we might not have needed it our allies did. Anyone who pays attention knows that Australia, Israel, and Japan are our rocks as far as friendship goes. You can throw Poland in the mix too. Congress has been Dem since ’06. Can we blame these folks for wondering if our word is worth a damn? We throw 1941 in their face while they are worried about 2041.

There is a book I offer up if you get the chance…
Embracing Defeat(Japan in the wake of WWII), John W. Dower, ISBN 0-393-32027-8
A bit dry, like ‘When Titans Clashed’, but full of good insight (and a bit of chin scratching).

What Obama is doing to Honduras makes me sad for so many different reasons.
He is not just an evil man, a would-be tyrant, but a monster as well.
GrannyDee on September 4, 2009 at 2:45 AM
I agree under normal circumstances killing a strategic platform like the F-22 was absolutely nuts. And our allies would not have seen an export lic. for many years yet, but a detached objective observer, in one of those countries would call it a signal that we are in dire straits as a super hegemon.
Strategically speaking, I think we need to face up to the fact that the emergence of Obama and our debt have finally forced us into a similar situation to that of the Soviets in 89.
We can work our way out of this but its going to take a mobilization of epic proportions and getting rid of the leftist parasite in the White House.
Thanks for the book recommendation. I will put it on my reading list. Good night Limerick!

The trends which confront us could not be any more opaque. The veil has been lifted and the seditious forces at the top of the Executive are acting on a world stage without any signs of discretion so as to hide their true motives.
This can only mean that they think we are powerless to stop them.
Every one needs to man up and take to the streets.
Get off your arse and get involved. No joke.

No CIA, no IRS, no standing army, no military bases, no nation building, across the board cuts in domestic spending, no Federal Reserve and competing currencies, no Departments of Ag, Education, Homeland Security, Energy, no secret service either, no foreign aid to “allies,” rescind copyright and patent laws, no selective service records, no space program, no data mining or NSA.

I believe that unfortunately that blood may have to be shed for America to be the land of liberty again.
The Far Left is too entrenched right now in the WH (Van Jones, Valerie Jarrett, Mark Lloyd)to give up now. It is prepared to fight to the death to preserve the takeover of the American government and what they consider the revolution. Nothing will be off the table, including declaring martial law, eliminating elections, taking Fox News and right-wing radio off the air waves, seizing the Internet, closing down Sarah Palin’s Facebook and incarcerating dissidents.
What is clearly standing in their way is not the Constitution per se but the 2nd Amendment. There are just too many damn guns in private hands in America who are prepared to fight to preserve their freedom.
What it will come down to is will the US military fire on its own citizens if Obama gives them a direct order to do so? If it does, then be prepared for America to go the way of Veneuela, Cuba and Communist China.
technopeasant on September 4, 2009 at 6:08 AM
Well, what could we expect. The statist leftist liberals have no respect for the rule of law in Honduras, nor the US for that matter.
What’s the boy president to do? His amoral character and empty values system see this move as not a problem. To hell with the Honduran people, Obama says, Zelaya is the rightful leader, despite his behavior. The end justifies the means.
Barack Obama’s presidency has now aligned with its final resting place in the dustbin of history with other tin horn dictator. His supporters and all the vacuousness and rainbows they seek after will go down with him in a ball of flames.

Since when has the filthy liar in the White House stood up for American values? That’s a serious question. Ignoring the fact that foreign policy isn’t the highest priority what with finding a dog for the brats, seizing private industries, and vacationing; has there been one moment when Americans can say that this rat bastard traitor has stood up for America?

Tks Jimmy for the quote. It’s a crying shame everyday people have to do the job of our sniveling, simpering politicians. Some Republican(s) ought to be out front and center on this. In general, the Rep. response to Obama is weak and ineffectual. The next Rep. candidate for Pres. better be somebody who has a damn good reason to offer as to why he/she hasn’t stepped up to the plate to fight the good fight, and left it in the hands of non-professional bloggers, and other everyday people. Somebody’s got some ‘splainin to do.

sven10077 on September 4, 2009 at 8:05 AM
Ogabe is simply acting on what he believes. To marxists/communists elections are only useful to elect them to power. After that impeachment, removal from office legaly or constitutionally is simply “illegal” to them and doesn’t matter unless they control the State. They were elected. Period. Doesn’t matter how.
From that point on the only “acceptable” elections are the ones that are rigged where they get 50.1-99% of the vote, then overturn (or ignore) the constitution and presto! Another era of despair and fear begins for an otherwise Democratic country. Rinse and repeat. I’m glad the Hondurans are fighting and using their CONSTITUTION as it is intended, with the full support of the people and the legislature with the military supporting them (and across party lines as well!).

So restore the aid, already. From all appearances, they have returned to democratic constitutional governance by ousting the Leftist.

Good points, but on the flip side, he has millions of 2nd amendment defenders in flyover country to consider. Also the military, when given an order to fire upon their own fellow citizens and families, would likely give pause to such an order.
Just musing.

It’s starting to make sense to me; If the info that lead to this decision is coming from the same sources as all other info for this administration(?);
Perhaps the State Department is just relying on reports from CBS, ABC, National Public Radio, Huffington Post, and Daily Kos.
And they’re taking polls too! Using SEIU, ACORN, etc. All reliable sources, for sure.

At the root core of things Obama is a Chavista, anyone recall the FARC hardrives seized in Ecuador by the Columbians? Y’know where it was recorded that Chavbez had been assured not to worry, that Bush would be gone and Obama would be in the White House.
However long Team O is in power be it 4,8,12years or for life, the hemisperical damage to interests will be huge. Long term the war against Capitalism is best served by isolating America from it’s own backyard, and Team O knows it.
As we recede from the latin american stage the vacuum is being filled by Chinese buying up assets as a way to dump ever more worthless dollars, and have stated as much.
There is a new Global Paradigm in the making, Just as the Chinese are becoming a marrige between Big Guv & Big Biz and are no longer really Communist. The same model is being adopted here with the Team O Gov’t taking over Biz right and left.
This is “Strong Man” Fascism in it’s most classical sense, and a sense that Latin America is already quite familiar with.
The “Progressive’s” romance with Fascism is long and storied in its American history and Mussolini was the their poster child in the 20 & 30′s. Obama & Chavez are their poster children now.

With the election scheduled for November 29, Micheletti a declared non-candidate, and Zelaya’s constitutional ineligibility to run (unless he concocts some eligibility theory out of his forced vacation from office), isn’t running out the clock the present government’s best strategy? In less than three months, what part of “moot” will there be to not understand?

There is an old book by Taylor Cauldwell called “Captains and Kings.” It’s written as fiction, but she says in preface that she wrote it in hopes of waking the young people of this country up as to what’s happening within our country. The book was published in early seventy, I believe. I read it while in college in the late seventies. It literally is a script for what is happening. Throughout my live, I’ve seen what she laid out in the book happen little by little, but no one wanted to listen, family and friends, etc.
To think that Obama and his crew care about Van Jones is foolish. They are Van Jones; they want the same things and hate with the same level of hatred as he and his kind do.
If you can get a copy of that book, I encourage you to read it. She breaks it down, and you will be amazed at how on target she was.
