Welcome to the show NPR.
Hotair and ABC News exposed this pay for play months ago:

Study: 19 Ambassador Nominees Bundled $4.8 Million for President's Campaign, Inauguration
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/06/study-19-ambassador-nominees-bundled-48-million-for-presidents-campaign-inauguration.html

The information comes from the Center for Responsive Politics, which in a recent study concluded that the president's new nominees for ambassadorships to Belize, Belgium, Liechtenstein, Romania and Switzerland "brought in at least $1.1 million for Obama's presidential bid as bundlers, and at least another half-a-million as bundlers for his inauguration. To date, this brings the contribution histories of Obama's ambassador nominees to roughly $1.8 million in donations since 1989. The 19 ambassadors that CRP has found in our campaign contribution database, along with their spouses and children, have given more than $98,200 to Obama personally, bundled at least $3.4 million for his 2008 presidential run and bundled another $1.4 million for his inauguration."

What's NPR going to be "surprised" about next,huge deficits,tax increases,hiring lobbyist,continuing Rendition-indefinite detention-enhanced interrogation-state secrets.

If NPR had not been walking around with the rest of the MSM chanting "Obama"..."Obama"..."Obama" during the campaign and instead actually investigating their messiah, this type of corruption would not be such a surprise.

Mentor? Is that the town in NE Ohio near Cleveland?

BuckeyeSam on September 3, 2009 at 3:33 PM

Yes. Great place to live. Right on Lake Erie about 20 miles east of Cleveland. The only drawback is a lifetime of disappointment following Cleveland sports teams. To borrow a quote from Ben Stiller at the end of Dodgeball.. "F***ing <strike>Chuck Norris </strike>John Elway"

You have it all wrong, Ed. Follow the new math:

100% of the career state department "civil servants" are leftist nitwits, so when there is a conservative in the White House, he/she should give every single ambassadorship to supporters, thus providing both our allies and those we wish to watch carefully with Ambassadors who hold the same worldview as the President.

When a liberal is in the White House, he/she can do whatever they wish, as their know-nothing supporters, political hacks that they might pay back, and the State Department hacks all hold the same Euro-weenie, anti-Israel, terrorist-coddling worldview as the White House liberal.

So the rest of the world gets exactly what American voters have voted for, either way. You can't possibly believe that the State Department boneheads are any better than the scumbags Obama is appointing...can you?

Call her office and say you are from Maine and represent a group of seniors against obamacare. It doesn’t matter if you don’t live in Maine. Find a zip code and town name off the net and call her now. Or say you are a moderate dem who voted for her, and you are against obamacare or any public option. We need to burn her local Maine offices as well as Washington. Call her now before she caves to the libs. Call her now!!!!

The only good thing to come out of the Obamination that now confronts us...lots of people are being made to lose weight as a direct result of the nausea induced in them by the crap that spews out of the mouths of the Won and his scumbag friends he appoints to rule over us.
The only problem being...some of us don't need to lose weight. I've lost all I needed to and then some. I'm startin' t' get kinda skinny lookin' and not in a good way.
Every day it seems, there's a new inducement to puke my guts out.

Obama is a liar and Truth is
killing his Marxist agenda.

And Japan isn’t an exception, either. Obama has appointed contributors rather than diplomatic professionals to positions in France, Germany, Spain, the UK, and Canada, as well as Japan — the core of America’s global alliances.
Those are just 6 of the 192 nations in the world, no different or more special than any of the others.

Wait let me correct that, they are just 6 of the 100 or so countries which aren't either virulently left-wing and anti-American or Muslim and therefore not special in Obama's world.

I could not care less that NPR is tepidly disappointed in Barry. If the best they can come up with to criticize is a couple of crony appointments, then they aren’t paying attention. They’re watching the house burn, and wringing their hands over who is going to mow the lawn.

True. On the other hand, did anyone really expect any better from NPR?

I could not care less that NPR is tepidly disappointed in Barry. If the best they can come up with to criticize is a couple of crony appointments, then they aren’t paying attention. They’re watching the house burn, and wringing their hands over who is going to mow the lawn.

Really, had they bothered to educate themselves, how could they be the least bit surprised at what is now unfolding?

pcpower1 on September 3, 2009 at 3:41 PM
The crux of the problem? But don't libs always perfer emotion to logic? Of course, that doesn't excuse the independents.

“The White House has come around, and we truly expect that, at the end of the process, the balance will be within historical norms,” said one senior administration official who asked not to be named because he was discussing internal deliberations.

Umm, didn't we EXPECT that, and more, from his appointments? Why should we believe his promise to be no worse, when he already broke his promise to be better?

The White House, unaware of historic norms

How could the most smartest White House evah be unaware of something like that? They could've asked any number of Washington insiders about it, if they were worried about it.

Yeah, he does that a lot. I'm always on the look out for it and for other variations on that theme.

This is Bush's fault for not alienating all these countries that we have to be nice to. Obama is working hard to remedy the situation.

Once telephones were invented, ambassadors became largely anachronisms, little more than a ceremonial post. In theory, they can help advance a nation's foreign policy, but usually don't. I remember reading about Barry's college roomate who was made Ambassador to Belize I believe. Barry must not have liked him much.
