Surprise: Even MSNBC thinks Levi Johnston’s a lying scumbag
posted at 6:15 pm on September 2, 2009 by Allahpundit
Well, the daytime anchors and guests do; doubtless Olby and Maddow find him to be a fresh-faced, charmingly plainspoken truthteller. Ace already destroyed the fallacy at the heart of the new Vanity Fair hit piece and I don’t have much to add, but it’s worth noting that Johnston’s scumbaggery has now reached such gargantuan proportions that you can see it all the way from England:
Hang on a minute: this is the grandmother of his son. Whatever you make of the Republican politician, she doesn’t come off worse in this lazy, base ‘exposé’ – Johnston does. And how is he going to explain this interview to his son one day?…
Yet, perhaps Vanity Fair is more at fault here, with its peculiar obsession with savaging Sarah Palin. Having incessantly aimed vitriol at her looks, her ‘narcissism’, her ‘aggressive’ personality and caricaturing her into an elk-shooting bimbo, it has started scraping the barrel. And this time its instrument of choice is Johnston, a teenage scumbag who would put his ego before his child.
That about covers it. If you’re hungry for more, C4P has a long post listing the many, many, many lies Levi’s told in his 15 minutes of fame. Golly, that 2008 election just keeps on paying dividends, doesn’t it?

Oh, and I also know a couple Ephraims and at least one Menashe.

AP – what does this mean?

Racing? You mean like Formula One, the American LeMans Series, and MotoGP?

When you are dismissive of her “seriousness,” I have to ask;
What objective measurement are you using for seriousness?
Can we apply it to other candidates?
Provide examples of the application of 2B2BS scale of seriousness to the other 2008 candidates, please.
This is like the gravitas crap we went through in the last couple of election cycle.
1. Pick an immeasurable attribute.
2. Claim a candidate doesn’t have it.

Y’all should learn to follow Bishop’s lead in Whack-a-Troll. He understands how to do it. It’s lots of fun, too. Arguing with them just encourages them, and hijacks the thread.
Buford Gooch on September 3, 2009 at 12:35 AM
While they may find Levi distasteful, the WaPo columnist still buys his story. No consideration that he was making sh*t up. She believes him, but realizes what a turd he is. Sounds conflicted to me.
Mallard T. Drake on September 3, 2009 at 2:20 AM
The Brits are right, what a scumbag.
And, he plans on posing for Playgirl?
Maybe he and Cindy Sheehan will hook up, they deserve each other.
LewWaters on September 3, 2009 at 2:28 AM
Is Levi related to someone at The New Republic or perhaps Scott Beauchamp????
Topsecretk9 on September 3, 2009 at 2:30 AM
I can’t help but thinking that Bristol dodged a bullet. Thank God she has a good Mom and Dad to fall back on. It must be hard watching her ex-boyfriend being played for such a fool.
DaMav on September 3, 2009 at 3:28 AM
Given Levi Johnston’s family situation, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Palins had him living in their home. I’ve had students, male and female, live in my home because of temporary difficulties they were experiencing. It sounds like the Palin home is a disciplined one with kids expected to pull their weight—Johnston obviously has a different type of ‘family.’ He might have lived with them, but it is unlikely that they let him sleep with their daughter. There is such a thing as mom and dad are out of the house, as cutting class to make time. It seems to me that Levi Johnston is quite resentful of the Palins—they could’ve put the hammer down on his ass if they found him abusing their hospitality with their daughter after he agreed to be what he isn’t, a gentleman. All I know is, he does have serious issues with them enough that he would watch the world burn if he could bring Sarah Palin down. It’s not about money, not entirely; it’s also about revenge.
SilentWatcher on September 3, 2009 at 4:08 AM
I think Levi is a piece of crap but honestly this Palin stuff has to stop in every way. She needs to be ignored. I like her. She is not good for the party. She will never be president. She almost served her purpose to boost Mcmoderate enough to win but that is where her career ended. She has been smeared and is much too inexperienced to be president. She has lost her luster with many people kinda like the inexperienced guy in charge now.
Tremmy on September 3, 2009 at 9:36 AM
This guy either has incredible nerve or incredible stupidity. He is mocking his own child’s relatives in the national media. How’s that going to work for him down the line when he needs to negotiate some sort of issue regarding custody, education, or care for his child? You just know that in some local bar, Todd Palin’s drinking buddies are planning some major Alaskan-style payback, for this world class pretty boy d-bag.

pseudonominus on September 3, 2009 at 10:03 AM
%70+ of Republican voters disagree with you very, very strongly.
I would say that you don’t know what is “good for the party”.
Welcome to the New Majority.
Brian1972 on September 3, 2009 at 10:18 AM
I was wondering how long it would take for the “fake but accurate” defense to raise its head.
tom on September 3, 2009 at 11:17 AM
Exactly why I would give the story a C. They manage to barely meet the “fair and balanced” standard, but even though they agree the guy’s being a scumbag, it never occurs to them that he might also be lying.
All because they really want to believe what he’s saying.
tom on September 3, 2009 at 11:20 AM
Jesse, is that you?

lovingmyUSA on September 3, 2009 at 12:33 PM
I don’t think they actually called him a liar. And Johnston’s story about why Palin resigned as governor makes more sense than Palin’s reason.
Norman Blizter on September 3, 2009 at 12:43 PM
The picture at the beginning of the video looks like Levi wants to jump Sarah
J_Crater on September 3, 2009 at 12:44 PM
If you give more credibility to a young man that impregnates a young woman and then sells his side of the story for money, than you would to the young woman or her family, then it tells us all we need to know about you.

G-d Bless C4P for their always spot-on coverage.

Sarah didn’t let him live in the house. That’s what happens when you don’t read C4P.
BlueStateBilly on September 3, 2009 at 1:18 PM
ONLY A MATTER OF TIME…..
Until he claims that she hit on him and that they had sex and that Trig is in fact HIS child and that she begged him to not tell, etc. And that she also begged him to have sex with a moose and heck maybe he’ll say the WHOLE FAMILY had group sex….
After he does that I assume he’ll be appear nude in some womens (heck maybe mens) magazine and then he’ll start showing up in porn films and then he’ll wind up getting arrested for meth possession……
Okay, other than the untimely death at 25 from some drug o.d. have I just about covered it?
PappyD61 on September 3, 2009 at 1:21 PM
My thoughts go to the young woman, Bristol. Many of us have a first experience with love that is terribly difficult. Being scorned or dumped or whatever you want to call it is horribly painful. Many also have a child out of wedlock, and suffer through the social consequences, I’m sure the support from her family meant a lot.
Most of us don’t have to be exposed to vitriolic worldwide scrutiny over it. To have your ex-lover be given a public platform to discuss it all is not something most of us can imagine. Our youthful errors of judgement can usually be fairly private – conceive of the whole world knowing you chose such a jack*ss.
I feel terribly sorry for her. Hopefully this gruesome experience will develop her personal resources, and forge her into a person of tremendous strength and character.
jodetoad on September 3, 2009 at 1:47 PM
You’re right about one thing — which is probably historic for you — MSNBC called him a scumbag, but not a lying scumbag. They seemed to take the word of someone they acknowledge as a scumbag. Obviously, it suited their prejudices to assume the scumbag was truthful, but the former VP candidate was lying through her teeth.
So….what’s your excuse for assuming you can take the word of a clear scumbag?
tom on September 3, 2009 at 1:57 PM
The interviewee said that what Levi is saying is “as scummy as you can get”.The only thing scummier is giving him an outlet to say it.
Only a Leftist could give this kid any attention,or give what he says any credence.
DDT on September 3, 2009 at 2:02 PM
So one of his shocking revelations is that Sarah was sad after losing the election? That this would be shocking or even worthy of comment would only occur to someone used to losing. i.e., a loserrrrrrr.
Filecchio on September 3, 2009 at 2:41 PM
I’m tired of hearing about Levi or Palin.
Palin 2012 fans also need to get their heads out of the sand. It ain’t going to happen.
haner on September 3, 2009 at 3:28 PM
I’m more of a Palin 2010 fan. I’m hoping she’ll help us throw a lot of bums out of Congress.
As for Palin 2012, it’s waaaay too early to proclaim, “it ain’t going to happen.”
tom on September 3, 2009 at 3:54 PM
I refuse to read/listen to anything said by that classless kid. He should just stfu. Bless Bristol and the rest of the Palins for not responding to that pos.

SHE HAS BEEN SMEARED AND IS TOO INEXPERIENCED TO BE PRESIDENT. SHE HAS NOW LOST HER LUSTER WITH MANY PEOPLE…
Romney and Gingrich have also been smeared but I would not be presumptuous to claim that they should not run for higher office because of that fact. tremmy, it goes with the territory of being a prominent national politician.
As for Palin being inexperienced now nobody is offering her the President’s job until November 6th, 2012. Palin has 3 years to prepare herself for the job. Compare it to a newly drafted first round QB needing 2-3 years to develop into a first-stringer.
And finally where have you been in the last week? Or are you one of those fools who thinks it was bogus information put out over the wire services that Sarah Palin has received 1070+ invitations to speak, 950 paid speaking engagements. Doesn’t sound to me that Palin has lost any of her luster.
technopeasant on September 3, 2009 at 4:12 PM
This young man is going to live regret a lot of what he now senselessly spewing out about the Palins.
SC.Charlie on September 3, 2009 at 4:29 PM
If Levi Johnston had used a scumbag, he wouldn’t be one.
His ego? More likely lot$ of buck$$$.
Somebody should fix him up with Meghan McCain. Birds (vultures) of a feather.
Steve Z on September 3, 2009 at 5:05 PM
Always fun to have getadick come back under a new name so we can slap her around some more. Let’s parse this clownishness:
“She needs to be ignored. I like her.”
Ooookaaaayyyy.
“She will never be president. She almost served her purpose to boost Mcmoderate enough to win but that is where her career ended.”
Hmmm…she will never be President, but somehow she “boosted” McCain, the well-respected “moderate”. How, exactly, did she do that? Are you suggesting that people voted for her and McCain, but mostly Palin?
“She is much too inexperienced to be President.”
I agree, but 53% of the voters elected a clownish liberal with less experience, so I guess not so much, huh?
Jaibones on September 3, 2009 at 5:10 PM
She should call off the wedding with lost-his-Levi’s, and say PUBLICLY that she wants nothing to do with anyone who treats her mother like he did.
Steve Z on September 3, 2009 at 5:13 PM
MSNBC was even tearing the Obama State Department a new one over the hired Contract workers having orgy’s. They are supposed to be guarding the American Embassy in Kabul (They are responsible for something like 1,000 people’s safety) Rachel Maddows was snide to say the least….what’s up with that MSNBC that’s the messiah’s contract workers now, they can’t be doing illegal ugly things in the name of “The One” Of Course MSNBC wants Obama to pull the U.S. out of Afghanistan, not build up the troops and government contractors…..sigh where’s the love ya all ;)

Excellent Idea….
Levi meet Meghan.
Meghan meet Levi.
John welcome Levi to your Arizona World.
Cyndi say hello to your new Son-in-law.
If he donated another child to the world they could call it
Megavi.
BTW, Anyone know if they Megs and Levi are on Facebook? Maybe someone could suggest that to them? Anyone got phone numbers?
Just sayin’. He could make some serious cash by spilling some dirt on the McCains.

Super-cheesy handle. Is that like “2Legit2Quit”? Are we being trolled by MC Hammer?
alliebobbitt on September 3, 2009 at 7:25 PM
Once he’s knocked up your daughter, I can’t see what worse he could do. It makes sense at that point — if your daughter is adamant that she is keeping the baby, loves the father and wants to marry him — to start treating him as a family member.
