Video: Kennedy’s name booed at health-care town hall
posted at 8:16 pm on September 1, 2009 by Allahpundit
A palate cleanser via Progress Illinois, which is shocked, shocked to find that Ted Kennedy is still loathed by conservatives in death — quite in contrast to how George W. Bush would be treated if, say, a Republican congressman invoked his name posthumously while addressing a Democratic audience. Consider this further evidence, though, in case any was indeed that slapping the Ted Kennedy seal of approval on a government program isn’t much of a selling point to anyone to the right of MoveOn.org. Which is too bad for The One, really, considering how his own vaunted salesman skills have deserted him lately.
Fun fact about Jan Schakowsky, seen here stupidly invoking the hero of Chappaquiddick in defense of her cause before a crowd with right-wingers in it: To this day, no one has been as blunt about the public option serving as a trojan horse for single-payer as she has.

this is off topic but it has to be posted here. She is going to cave and side with the libs on healthcare. Burn her phones at her offices. Pick a zip code or a town in Maine, call her office saying you represent a group of seniors and let her know she’s out if she votes with the libs. Better yet, take a page out of alinskys rules for radicals and say your moderate democrats against the bill. Stop her now before she caves! Call now!!

I get sick and tired of whores like Jan Schakowsky telling us that the “time for reform is now.” No sorry you whore but the time is not now because we can’t afford it. Your corrupt party and the filthy liar in the White House ran up too much of a debt rewarding the UAW, ACORN, and other special interests for this to be financially viable right now. So just STFU and keep your filthy hands out of my wallet.
highhopes on September 1, 2009 at 8:25 PM
Sorry, but I didn’t hear the “boo’s”. But her “facts” are ridiculous. She claims that 50% of Americans went without a medical procedure because they couldn’t “afford” it? More likely they decided they didn’t feel that bad and wanted to spend their money on something else.

If it were only that easy. It his hard for a conservative living in Illinois. No matter how bad Obama tanks we will have statues of him. No longer the Land of Lincoln. The land of Obama and lincoln. The will probably rename the Reagan Expressway to Obama Expressway.
I am more ashamed of Dick Durbin more than Rod Blagojevich.
After calling our troops Nazis he still got reelected.
Yes we feel a little dirty in the Land of Obama.

It’s rough living in IL, especially Chicago. Most likely Midway will be renamed after Obama.
I saw a Lincoln replica in the United terminal at O’Hare last week, and was shocked, shocked! that there wasn’t an Obama reference in the description or his picture in the vicinity.

Plus with the internets we can combat them in real time hahahahah SWEET!!!!!

Shameless scripted speech! Vote her out! Her interests do not belie her employers wishes! Or do they?

I didn’t hear booing, which wasn’t surprising since we now know how townhall meetings with dems. work. Acorn wouldn’t boo, SEIU wouldn’t; boos require them to actually allow anyone who disagrees with them to attend.
pcpower1 on September 1, 2009 at 8:49 PM
And the hero of Paris too, so don’t forget that!
“Kennedy earned C grades at the private Milton Academy, but was admitted to Harvard as a “legacy” — his father and older brothers had attended there, so the younger and dimmer Kennedy’s admission was virtually assured. While attending, he was expelled twice, once for cheating on a test, and once for paying a classmate to cheat for him. While expelled, Kennedy enlisted in the Army, but mistakenly signed up for four years instead of two. His father, Joseph P. Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador to England, pulled the necessary strings to have his enlistment shortened to two years, and to ensure that he served in Europe, not Korea, where a war was raging. Kennedy was assigned to Paris, never advanced beyond the rank of Private, and returned to Harvard upon being discharged.“
BTW, while Private Ted was protecting Paris from the North Koreans and the Chinese, does anyone know if there were any unsolved drownings of women there?
MB4 on September 1, 2009 at 8:49 PM
Most circumstances it would be disgusting. Teddy’s last words probably were “exploit my death to get health-care passed.” So in this case its not disgusting its pathetic and its what we have come to expect from the Dems.
cubbieblue25 on September 1, 2009 at 8:49 PM
George Bush had a series of policies that people either agreed with or not. Some hated him, some didn’t like him, and some supported him.
Ted Kennedy let a girl die to further his political prospects and interfered in his nephew’s rape trial because he could. Ted Kennedy was a scumbag and deserves all the booing that comes his way.

That alone disgusts me. The whole Kennedy funeral was a sham state funeral complete with the plane landing at Andrews AFB (where RFK and JFK entered DC for the last time)and a motorcade stop at the Capitol which I guess was a blessing that they didn’t want the corpse to lie in state in the Rotunda.
Teddy Kennedy, alive or dead, should not be a reason to vote in favor of this bad legislation.

Contrary to what some of his very few enemies say he never had more than one drink at a time. Well sometimes one for each hand, but that’s it, never two glasses in each hand, except on special occasions like the arrival of 5PM.

Looks like the Dems have their talking points down. I just got home from a townhall with Congressman Gary Peter(D) and a lot of the same points were made by him. He said he couldn’t support HR3220 as it is written right now-yea right! The crowd was probably 60-40% us in the minority.(830 in auditoruim and a lot of people outside that couldn’t get in) But we held our own and Peters certainly knew where we were coming from and that we don’t support this bill. He also said the bill will not cover abortion or illegals. Spin spin spin. Questions were submitted on a card and picked , I think, by a young college student from Oakland University(probably the YOung Democrats. Unions etc were bussed in.

Jan Shakowsky is a such a liar. “62% of personal bankruptcies have medical bills as the main factor.” What a liar!
I remember some years ago she was on local T.V. doing a press conference to support Blago’s idea of illegally importing prescription drugs from Canada. She was comparing the prices for prescriptions you get from the vet with the price for human versions of the drug. “Why can your dog get anti-depressants for half price? It’s the evil corporations!” This broad is about a nuanced as a hammer and sickle. Her husband was recently convicted for embezzlement or fraud relating to some lefty non-profit. Really wonderful people. Oh and she is in for life. Her predecessor Sid Yates served in that district for 50 years. It is Lake Front liberals and the old Jewish suburbs like Skokie. McCain got 26%. It’s our gift to all you. Enjoy.
Ted Torgerson on September 1, 2009 at 9:49 PM
“50 million people went without health care in America this last year?” (1/6th of the entire country? Impossible)”62% of personal bankruptcies have medical bills as the main factor” (where does she get her facts? That, too is patently wrong.)
If you must lie to make your point, then why should I listen to anything you have to say, and why should I grant you permission to take away my medical care and give it to someone else?
What a lying POS.
