Video: Glenn Beck screams about Van Jones and Obama

Very frequently, I don’t understand where his manic exasperation’s coming from. But sometimes, I do.
First clip is the money bit from today’s 20-minute long harangue about Jones. The second clip is Jones himself from an appearance in February at Berkeley. There are all kinds of bon mots in the mix if you can spare the time to watch — Republicans are “assholes,” evidently — but if you can’t spare it, skip ahead until there’s about 30 seconds left.

So, Sharpton is a race hustler to you? What should we do with him?
faraway on September 2, 2009 at 10:30 AM
Sharpton and Beck have no place in political discussion. Yesterday Beck said the FBI is corrupt and ignoring the Communist take over of the government. I mean seriously at what point do reasonable people step in and say “enough”? Murdock will let this nut do his thing because of ratings.
Where is the line where ratings are detrimental on society? Why not do public executions on TV? Bet those would get good ratings also. Jerry Springer gets great ratings but does it contribute to society?
Decider on September 2, 2009 at 10:34 AM
If the “Main Stream Media” had done it’s job, Glenn wouldn’t have anything to say… But the MSM fiddles while Rome burns… Go Glenn!!

Laura Inhraham’s guest from the Heritage Foundation on right now talking about Van Jones’ radicalism amd marxian philosophy. More and more people are hearing about this guy.

That’s “Ingraham”….
4Freedom on September 2, 2009 at 10:41 AM
Again, is anyone saying Glenn Beck is lying?
If you you say yes, show the proof, if not, let’s all ignore the posts of those that talk about Glenn’s methods. Yes, he is a nut. I have to DVR his show and watch it in 2 parts.
But he is the ONLY source of this information.
If you have this information and can deliver it better, I am sure there is a cable channel somewhere that NEEDS to fill airtime that will take you. I will even watch you for a couple of episodes.
Glenn’s ratings are EXPLODING almost matching O’Reilly’s in a terrible time slot. He is almost catching up on CBS Evening News. So if you can create a better show, just think of the ratings YOU will get.
Otherwise, thank Glenn for giving us the information.
BTW, I am IN.

The FBI has been removed from the vetting process on many of the czars. These people are being put in place and going around the standard political appointment process. I don’t recall him calling the FBI corrupt in the show. His question was a general question of how are these marxists getting by the standard FBI vetting process and political appointment process. That is a very fair question.
Mo_mac on September 2, 2009 at 10:50 AM
Speaking to Beck’s style I would put him as the anti-Rush. While Rush is so eloquent in his unparalleled monologues on the Obama administration and Obama’s agenda, Beck takes on a different tone by ‘asking questions’ and then trying to find the answers.
Rush already knows the answers and Beck eventually finds the answers but nevertheless they both end up at the same place. Like the difference between the gospel of Matthew and the gospel of John.
technopeasant on September 2, 2009 at 10:52 AM
Beck’s Friday show was spellbinding. Brilliant. I love how he’s exposing Obama’s Communists behind the boycott. He’s telling Axelrod, Emanuel, and Obama to “suck it”, he won’t be intimidated.
marklmail on September 2, 2009 at 10:55 AM
So…you believe the FBI is corrupt?
And you believe the communists are taking over our govt?
What year is this – 1955? LOLOLOL
Glen Beck’s ratings are like Springer’s ratings – the idiots are watching. Manistream Americans are not watching Glenn Beck anymore than they watched Jerry Springer, and anyone who thinks they are – well is just silly.
His 2M or so audience is full of Birthers, Palinistas, Paulnuts and people just plain mad that a black woman is our First Lady and her black husband is our President.
In the scheme of things – not allot of people considering who voted.
Glenn Beck and those like him would have been tossed out of the Conservative Movement by William F Buckley 40 years ago, that’s fact.

I would say Glenn spins a good yarn based on some fact and allot of paranoia.
Jerry Springer’s rating were equal to his in the morning – overtaking every morning show.
AprilOrit on September 2, 2009 at 11:04 AM
And Glenn is able to do it because he has an audience like Springer.
I bet Glenn Beck’s audience is an overlapping demographic to what Springer’s was.
I really wish I could get some solid numbers and proof of that.
AprilOrit on September 2, 2009 at 11:08 AM
April, in your little world, did Van Jones say he was a “communist”?
faraway on September 2, 2009 at 11:10 AM
Instead of just pulling it out of your ass because it feels right?
skree on September 2, 2009 at 11:12 AM
Glenn Beck is trying to do an intervention and too many are unwilling to give up their addiction to Government handouts.
Elizabetty on September 2, 2009 at 11:14 AM
AprilOrit on September 2, 2009 at 11:08 AM
So again, Beck is honest and correct in 100% of his statements, his audience is just not to your standards.
barnone on September 2, 2009 at 11:14 AM
A very far cry from a communist take over of the United States of America.
Our flag is going to be flying for many years to come – and as I never believed George Bush and Dick Cheney attacked their own country – I certainly do not believe Barack Obama is planning a communist takeover of this country.
You guys are Truthers, instigators and paranoid enough to be on medication.
Unfortunately it almost appears like it’s at the expense of his own emotional sobreity.
Last week when he said it was going to be the drunks and drug addicts that save this country?
As an recovering alcoholic – I thought that was a stretch.
AprilOrit on September 2, 2009 at 11:19 AM
The thing is, bozo’s administration is just correcting Glenn’s spelling!!! They are not denying what Glenn is uncovering… If this stuff doesn’t either make you furious or afraid for our country OR both, YOU are not paying attention!
DanaSmiles on September 2, 2009 at 11:22 AM
This Van Jones numb nuts so wants to wear the black beret and hurl a few Molotovs at a tank, but instead he has to use his silly Fidel gesticulations to equate a job at a windmill factory with that of a 50’s revolutionary. His sort of lazy intellect currently populates the halls of the Ivy League.
The only lesson to be learned from Mr. Van Jones is that you get a better education at a state school.

I’m a drunk – I get it.
I know where he’s coming from.
AprilOrit on September 2, 2009 at 11:32 AM
Anyone that doesn’t think the politicians are manipulating laws to suit their agenda is a fool. Beck may be a little eccentric, but there’s truth to his message most of the time.
Czars are good along with the rest of Obama’s quest for socialism, and yes even communism when his agenda is literally interpreted. After four years of Obama, Pelosi and Reid (if those two last that long), Americans will think that Chuck Shumer is a right winger.
Glenn’s very colorful and generates a tons of money for FOX. Why, in God’s name would they even consider taking him off the air. The guy is great entertainment.

Rather than actually collecting data to refute Beck’s claims, you brand both the sender of the messages and the receivers as obtuse. Until you can logically disprove any of Beck’s characterizations of Obimbo’s czar hires, then the lowest common denominator in this argument is you.

april, we love pinko humor. I am dying laughing. Tell us more.
faraway on September 2, 2009 at 11:47 AM
AprilOrit,
You are using the same tactics that Reid and Pelosi use by villifying a larger group of people and anybody that disagrees with you. The fact is you don’t like Glenn’s presentation style, which can be over the top sometimes. He’s been wrong a lot, but he’ll admit it when he was and he’s also been right much of the time. His style just isn’t targeted towards people who like to think of themselves as intellectuals like you. You’re showing signs of same elitist attitude most politicians possess. And go ahead and call me a “birther” or “palinista” or something else like that. It doesn’t change who you are.
The Hop on September 2, 2009 at 11:50 AM
Question: Which number is larger?
a) Glenn’s new security detail for himself and each family member………or
b) The number of total working brain cells in The Messiah’s rear-end….err excuse me, I meant The Messiah’s brain (well, actually same difference). Please send your responses to: WhiteHouseSnitchLine@Rezko-Wright-Ayers.gov

REALLY? We wonder why he’s “screaming?” Van Jones is blatantly calling for social justice through green jobs and actually believes and states it as fact that “people of color” are being killed with pesticides? Not to mention he’s a self-avowed communist? Glenn’s the only one who seems to find Van Jones at all creepy in and of himself, much less as a White House advisor, and that makes me want to scream.

AprilOrit,
Seems that you love to talk the talk, but can you actually provide proof to dispute GB’s very valid questions? As someone stated above, you’d have to be asleep to not want answers to these questions.
I really take offense to your claims that GB watchers are equivalent to Jerry Springer’s show. I always hated JS and his show – couldn’t bear even 2 minutes of it. GB is a little over the top at times, but that issue is just a distraction to pull attention away from the real issues here.
How the HEdoublehockeysticks did Van Jones come by his job? What makes him qualified for it (I bet if I had been in jail and was a self-avowed communist, I wouldn’t even be considered)? What the hell is that black congresswoman (was it Dianne Watson?) doing, saying that Fidel Castro is one of the world’s most brilliant leaders, when she has vowed to defend the US constitution? Why the hell is Mark Lloyd, Special Advisor for Diversity, wanting to tax talk radio/tv the equivalent of their production costs, which would obviously put them out of business, and give that money to public radio? The list goes on and on.
I think you are wasting your time posting here, since you are not able to provide anything but villification of GB. I patiently await your proof dear.

Well, I’ll take you up on that bet. Instead of “wishing” you could get some solid numbers-get your a$$ in gear and get them. When you do (not having much $ to spare) I’ll bet $100 that you are way off the mark. This isn’t just talk–let’s do it. I imagine you could make a good start by comparing just the age demographic of the two audiences. It ain’t rocket science. Google! Damn, do you want me to do it for you?
In addition, take me as an example. You could classify me as an occasional viewer of his show. I’ve already posted on this very thread that I find GB’s emotionalism hard to wade through, but I do respect his courage, his investigative tenacity, and what I see as his integrity. No, I don’t agree with all his conclusions–just about 99%. On the other hand, I don’t give a f#!k which of the 5 playas is the daddy of Shaniqua’s baby. I would venture to say that if you polled the GB audience the overwhelming majority would have the same sentiment.
Bet me!

A: They know he is telling the truth, and they want to stop him.
B: They are in denial that the questions he is raising could even remotely be true about their messiah, and so they think he is a crackpot.

AO, you haven’t disproven any of Beck’s facts yet. You’re making (internet cliche ahead!) ad hominem attacks and nothing else. You’ve insulted the audience, insulted Beck, but not once stated anything remotely resembling a fact that would disprove Obama’s appointments are radicals.
Heck, if you can find any people as radical as Obama’s – like eugenicist Malthusian John Holdren – in any administration (maybe with the exception of Wilson’s admin.) in the past, I’d be surprised.
I find it interesting to note that all Van Jones has to do is drop the appearance of being a communist and he can continue to be one. Apparently people are that willing to believe. “Peace in our time”, as it were.

I think they both are part of the same mindset that you find in cult members and those suffering from substance abuses and addictions. The thought processes that allow the patterns of lies and weaknesses to repeat themselves rely on avoidance and denial.
If one allows themselves to face the questions head on, they have accepted the responsibility to answer the questions and other challenges that may arise from those attempts using rationalizations and deflections.
I think that, deep down they know they are full of crap, but just can’t find the courage to deal with it.
(And no..April O..I’m not referring to you. Any connections you may be making originate in your own mind….the part of your mind that wants help.) Just sayin’

Be well.

“It can’t happen here. If I continue to believe it’s not, then it isn’t. La la la, I’m not listening to facts because I can’t disprove them. La la la, if I face the facts, my facade of cleverness won’t stand up. La la la, if I just ignore it, I don’t have to deal with the stress of reality.”
AP may want to note that this is why Beck always straddles the line between passionate and “I’m losing my mind, gang!”… he’s in a position to do something about it, and has had the option to avoid it. His family would be just as well off if he were doing a show like Nancy Grace or Greta’s.

As far as Sharpton goes, just check out his past support of the Tawana Brawley case (NY, back in the 80s I think). What a farce that was. Girl accused white cops of raping her and at trial it was discovered that it never happened. Sharpton’s MO seems to be; latch onto a case, any case, and jump in just to get the limelight. He is a joke IMO.

At what point do reasonable people remember that there’s this silly ‘First Amendment’ that was purposely designed to not give a s*** about whether or not speech ‘contributes to society’? The free market will determine whether Beck succeeds or fails. Katie Couric stopped ‘contributing to society’ when she stopped giving holiday baking tips on NBC and moved over (her head) to a night gig at CBS. This is not rocket science here folks – it’s a simple examination of the time-continuum line: America land of the free and home of the brave…..The Messiah….America land of the bankrupt and home of the Commie, snitches, spies and racial hatred………..hey…that’s HopeNChange!

From now on when I hear The One is going over to Russia to talk to Putin…………I am going to be hiding under the bed……………God only knows what those two Commies are cooking up……………

Umm, I think thats what was just established. Did ya not hear the dude say that he supported and agreed with the ideology of third world communist governments?
At least one unelected communist is in power in our government. We can say that with no uncertainty. As far as Beck’s hyperbolous delivery, I can live with it. Pull your head out of the sand.

What does he have wrong, and what are you basing that conclusion on?
Make your case, or let the grown ups talk and try to pay attention so you can learn. Surely you’re not afraid to learn something?

Don’t look now, April, but he’s at it again today. On second thought, please watch. You might learn something.

I never paid him much attention until the boycott. He’s got some great questions he is posing which are not getting answered. Like, why did Obama appoint an avowed Communist to a high level position in the White House?
Instead of dealing with the substance of the question, some want to ridicule the questioner instead. That might work in the short term, but over time people will ask, “Why aren’t they answering the questions he’s asking?”

I found the Van Jones clip to be very troubling on multiple levels.
If you put aside the “expletive deleted” nature and who the “expletive deleted” was target toward, the most troubling part becomes clearer.
First, the woman asked the question as to why the “party now out of power” in Congress was able when “in power” to pass legislation with less than the majority the current “party in power” enjoys, while the “party in power” can’t seem to do the same thing. The response .. BS .. or as Barack Obama would call it .. a distraction. Obviously, this question was not supposed to be asked.
Second, the cynicism this man has for the environmental movement is unbelievable. “Green Jobs” aren’t a viable economic product of reordered priorities based on good environmental principles, but rather a political opportunity. His appointment as “Green Jobs” czar shows that “Green Jobs” and probably the whole “cap-and-trade” legislation has virtually nothing to do with the environment, but rather is a source of funds to be squandered for patronage. Every environmentalist should be aghast.

forgive the off topoic post but
Olympia snowejob needs to be stopped !
Call her office and say you are from Maine and represent a group of seniors against obamacare. It doesn’t matter if you don’t live in Maine. Find a zip code and town name off the net and call her now. Or say you are a moderate dem who voted for her, and you are against obamacare or any public option. We need to burn her local Maine offices as well as Washington. Call her now before she caves to the libs. Call her now!!!!

Van Jones is calling Republicans “@$$holes”? Really? Can I call him the “N Word” now? Or does Freedom of speech only apply to Un-American weak minded children who have to blame other people for their own inadequacies.

I don’t recall him saying the FBI was corrupt, he was questioning how people with such shady bacgrounds slipped through their screening process. The White House has even said they rather do their own screening to “speed things up”. I took it as more of a slam at The White House over the FBI.
And Beck has a point, how do self proclaimed communists, tax cheats and proponents of sterilization and euthanasia get through the screening process so easily? The cofounder of the Weather Underground is even working with Obama, though I don’t think it’s in an official position.
