A 50 percent approval typically translates into a 26-seat pickup by the minority party; a 40-seat pickup, which is what the GOP would need to retake the House, would require a rating of around 42 percent

At the rate Obama is tanking, a Republican SWEEP is likely then.

Is it any shock then that the American people are unhappy that when they thought they voted the bums out it only got worse?

Olympia snowe
this is off topic but it has to be posted here. She is going to cave and side with the libs on healthcare. Burn her phones at her offices. Pick a zip code or a town in Maine, call her office saying you represent a group of seniors and let her know she’s out if she votes with the libs. Better yet, take a page out of alinskys rules for radicals and say your moderate democrats against the bill. Stop her now before she caves! Call now!!

And then of course there are the major wild cards?

A major terrorist attack (which I feel is an invevitability BTW) by Muslims, while the border remains open, our DHS is intent on investigating everybody BUT Islamic whackos, and oh yes, he wants to read Miranda rights to terrorist scum and conduct an inquisition against CIA interrogaters who are just trying to do their job, and his presidency is toast!

If this happens before the 2010 elections then not just the HOuse, but the Senate may even be in play for the GOP. IF it happens before the 2012 elections, in time for the majority (or much stronger minority) GOP to push for investigations into the staggaring incompetence of this administration in its fundamental duty of protecting the borders and citizenry of this nation, then Obama either resigns for "health reasons" or faces a Mondale/Reagan blowout in 2012.

The left has done their best to bury the past, ignore radical Islam, close thier eyes and hope it goes away. One major terror act, smoking wreckage and thousands of murdered Americans and, even all the media spin the world will not be able to stop the rage of the American people, even those who were stupid enough to fall for the Obama charade last year, and are regretting that vote now.

As long as we don’t listen to the wussies on the right that claim we need to become more measured in our approach.
People are ANGRY! Feed off of that emotion, bring it to a fever pitch, and you’ll open a lot of eyes.

Otherwise we’re back to playing on the typical LOSER Republican team.

On Election Day 2008, according to Rasmussen, Democrats led the generic ballot 47%-41%. Now Republicans lead 43%-36%.

Republicans have picked up a gee-whiz 2% since Election Day, but Democrats have lost 11%. If this holds until Election Day 2010 (a big if), lots of Independents who voted Democrat last year will stay home next year, and Republicans can win a low-turnout election. If the current "undecided" stay home, Republicans would win the non-abstainers 54-46%.

What really counts are the swing districts. How many Democrats won their seats by less than 6% last year? A TIE in the generic vote would probably sweep them out. Rasmussen's current numbers represent a net swing of 13%, meaning that most Democrats who won by less than 13% would lose re-election, unless the Republican candidate was unusually weak or the Democrat incumbent was very strong. But most of the swing districts are occupied by freshman (2008) or sophomore (2006) Democrats, and a reasonably strong Republican could oust them in a "wave" election.

Which puts the Blue Dogs in a tough spot...if they behave like a "generic" Democrat and vote for ObamaCare and Cap and Trade, they're out--if they try to be centrist and attract GOP voters, the base might not turn out for them.
This might be enough to scare the Blue Dogs into voting against ObamaCare, or enough for the Republicans to re-take the House. Or both.

Right now the swing is more anti-Democrat than pro-Republican, so the Republican challengers need to come up with a solid, no-nonsense, pro-taxpayer, pro-free-market, pro-jobs, pro-energy, pro-national-security conservative platform to run on, and then "git 'er done" once they get the majority.

Contract With America 2.0?

Which puts the Blue Dogs in a tough spot…if they behave like a “generic” Democrat and vote for ObamaCare and Cap and Trade, they’re out–if they try to be centrist and attract GOP voters, the base might not turn out for them.
This might be enough to scare the Blue Dogs into voting against ObamaCare, or enough for the Republicans to re-take the House. Or both.

Right now the swing is more anti-Democrat than pro-Republican, so the Republican challengers need to come up with a solid, no-nonsense, pro-taxpayer, pro-free-market, pro-jobs, pro-energy, pro-national-security conservative platform to run on, and then “git ‘er done” once they get the majority.

Contract With America 2.0?

Now that people are finally starting to realize that we have to get rid of ALL of the incumbents; they have to be convinced to do it TWICE.
       TWO CYCLES--NO INCUMBENTS--EVERY OFFICE
It is time for the government to be afraid of the people, not people afraid of government.TWO CYCLES.
Don't tell them, show them that "those who give can take away"---and WILL.

As long as we don't listen to the wussies on the right that claim we need to become more measured in our approach.
People are ANGRY! Feed off of that emotion, bring it to a fever pitch, and you'll open a lot of eyes.

Otherwise we're back to playing on the typical LOSER Republican team.

Barry's such a crybaby tool, I wouldn't be surprised if he threw his toys down and refused to be president anymore.

(Not that he'd give up the White house digs or Airforce One or anything like that...)

Looks like the American people are becoming fed up with the bullshit. Used to be that “incumbent” next to your name on a ballot was a ’sure thing’ for re-election. Now it’s like the GodFather’s kiss of death.
