Hot Air TV: Jason Mattera undercover at a town hall meeting

posted at 11:32 am on September 1, 2009 by Michelle

He’s baaack! It’s been too long since our YAF/Hot Air TV special correspondent Jason Mattera’s last video production. But he teamed up with YAF intern and cameraman Adam Tragone to give us a special glimpse into the world of Obamacare supporters at Democrat Rep. Jim Moran’s recent town hall forum in Virginia.

Enjoy it, you “selfish people!:”

Did you make sure to watch it to the very end? Commune Dude is priceless.

“IT owns the clothes.”

If there is anyone reading this from the Seattle area, Baghdad Jim McDermott is holding a townhall meeting tonight in Meany Hall on the University of Washington campus. Doors open at 6:15 and the meeting starts at 7:00pm.

Reston is up the street from me. I never knew I had such weird, Marxist neighbors! Oh… wait… yes I did. Having been unemployed for about a year, I’m waiting for these unselfish people to give me their money…. Still waiting…

Haha at Patch adams at 1:50. I saw him give a talk in Peru a couple weeks ago. While he does great work here for the starving children he is a anti capitalist and spit on stage in the name of the USA. He promoted communism to the naive Peruvians in attendance who lightly applauded. The translator was terrible so I’m not even sure how much of that got through. He called Bush a terrorist and Obama as well. I went in looking forward to the talk and left wanting to punch him in the face. He is an epic pacifist socialist/communist and a great humanitarian rolled into one. A truly unique individual if there ever was one.

I love to go to these people and ask them for all their money (just the few dollars they might have on them)…

This might shock you, but they’re not as “unselfish” as they may appear!

“I don’t know what “insolvent” means, but it doesn’t sound good.” If THAT one statement doesn’t lay out the liberal mindset, nothing does. The old gray-haired fart with his liberal ponytail is a leftover from the 60s. Maybe he can get “it” to give him a free haircut.

I just got a voice mail message from Chris Van Hollen (Silver Spring, MD area). He’s holding a telephone town hall meeting tomorrow night, but than rather you calling in, he calls you(!) and you stay on the line if you want to join in.

Talk about an arms-length meeting. This guy is a Congressman from an ultra-lib Maryland district, and he still takes ridiculous precautions with his town hall meetings.

The Dems are pussies. Do not be intimidated by them!

Norm Dicks (D-WA) had a town hall meeting here in Bremerton last night. I watched it on a live stream from the local paper. It was really interesting. A mix of both pro and con, about 1100 strong.

A little noisy with that many people in a stuffy room, but no nasty outbursts and no pictures of the president as Hitler (inside anyway).

One question and answer made me laugh. An audience member asked who wrote the bill. Norm said 3 committees, including the Ways and Means committee with Charlie Rangel as the head. Someone in the audience yelled out “Rangel is a crook”. That got a big laugh and I was pleased to know that even though Rangel is from NY that the people here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest knew who he was.

this is off topic but it has to be posted here. She is going to cave and side with the libs on healthcare. Burn her phones at her offices. Pick a zip code or a town in Maine, call her office saying you represent a group of seniors and let her know she’s out if she votes with the libs. Better yet, take a page out of alinskys rules for radicals and say your moderate democrats against the bill. Stop her now before she caves! Call now!!

I have so little if anything in common with most of those folks. There are indeed “two Americas”, just not the split the way Senator John Edwards was trying to concoct. There are anti-capitalists and everybody else.

clorensen on September 1, 2009 at 12:11 PM

“I don’t know what “insolvent” means, but it doesn’t sound good.”

A tribute to all the $ spent on the DOE and American public education.

I gather that the new definition of unselfish is a willingness to spend other people’s money without their consent/agreement?

But the best quote is at the end: “any hot women on the commune?”

The problem with Patch Adams is his insistence that we all lose our rights to support those programs of our choosing. Because health care is his baby, he thinks it should be as important to the rest of us. The first thing that liberals want to do is take our most basic freedoms away.

csdeven on September 1, 2009 at 12:27 PM

Right there in article 10! I just realized why I can’t understand these folks – my copy of the constitution is abbreviated and doesn’t include article 10.

YOU LIVE IN A COUNTRY WHERE YOU CAN DECIDE FOR YOURSELF IF YOU WANT TO LIVE IN A COMMUNE YOU A$$HAT!!!!!!!
you live in a country where like Tom Morelo of rage against the machine you can CHOOSE to be a communist. you can be anything you want here because of the constitution, but as soon as you guys get your wish and tear it up. that will be gone. you are killing your own freedom and are too stupid to see it.

I’m in Jim Moran’s district. I wouldn’t have gone to the meeting if I could have, because for all that was going on, I never would have gotten any questions answered. Plus, those guys have learned to stack the crowds with supporters from out of town. I don’t blame people for the yelling, but I’d rather watch them from the comfort of my own home. So, I followed Jim Jim Geraghty’s Twitter messages on TweetDeck, and that worked out just great.

At some point, the yelling will stop, sometime after members of Congress start losing elections and realize they have to listen once the shouting dies down. I don’t think most of them are at that point yet. Someday, maybe they will be.

When that happens, I’ll show up. I hope they serve refreshments.

manwithblackhat on September 1, 2009 at 12:53 PM

MirCat on September 1, 2009 at 12:55 PM

Wow, so that’s Patch Adams. I have no problem with the guy wanting to provide free health care at his own clinic, but I have a huge problem with him wanting the government to force those of us who pay taxes to provide ‘free’ care to everyone else. Private charity > Forced ‘charity’

ha ha ha–priceless

Dollayo on September 1, 2009 at 1:01 PM

Look this up on the internet when you have extra time (rofl).

What percentage of a given population has below average intelligence? Compare that with that same populations numbers of liberals.

Harder to find this, but what percentage of a given population have low self esteem and compare that to the numbers of liberals for that population.

Not as hard to find, but more subjective, how many lazy and entitled people in that population versus the liberal numbers.

I think combining the results of these inquiries will give you a fair definition of what a liberal is.

Best video I’ve ever seen. He should do a hour special on Beck. It reminded me of Penn & Teller’s show Bull*&it when they had a guy wandering around environmentalist protests asking the brain dead if they would sign a petition banning dihydrogen monoxide. Virtually all the fools asked voted to ban good ole H2O.

Hey pal, do you pay your taxes on that? Because, even if you give it away, you still owe taxes. I love how they all actually admit, in a friendly setting, the facts that conservatives use to argue against their preferred policies.

Who could the professor possibly be speaking to that pays a million a year and who would pay to hear what this guy, that lives in a conlune has to say ? Maybe the IRS should be hanging at these rally’s. Seems would be more profitable than harassing middle America for chump change.
