Was Hitler voted in by the people?

holymoly on August 30, 2009 at 2:56 PM

No, he didn't win the election, but he was named Chancellor by President Hindenburg as a coalition building measure/containment measure.

Needless to say, containment didn't work.

What a wonderful plan the democrats/communists have … organize ACORN and union thugs to push back against citizen protestors, continue to lie about the bill and call everyone who disagrees a Nazi, unAmerican, terrorist, paid flaks and liars.

Good plan.

If Unemployment is over 8.5% by this time in November 2010, there could be big changes. Unfortunately, the republicans in office now suck just as bad as their democratic brethren.

Obama and Congress are banking on their invulnerability to allow them to:
- Radically change our Country to a socialist or fascist state
- Take your money and give it to freeloaders
- Fill their administration with corruptocrats and communists
- Shut down all dissent including talk radio and the internet.
- Funnel your tax money to their union supporters and "community (voter fraud) organizers
- Insult the American people to their face while apologizing for America overseas.
- Lie to the American people shamelessly and repeatedly.
- Intimidate and smear (even with race-baiting) anyone who might try to stand in their way (including private citizens).
- Use thuggery to extort or shut down opposition.
- Ruin the economy while blaming it on Bush (which is at face value ridiculous even had the economy not gotten worse under Obama).
- Creating crises that "are too good to waste" at the expense of the American people.
- Taking away our inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

If we don't stand together against this garbage, we will surely fall.

The consensus seems to be that we have a collection of Fools on the Hill.

Well, if the GOP thinks it's a good idea to let John McCain and Orin Hatch represent the Republican POV on Sunday talk shows, then the fools on the hill are fooling themselves.

Mealy-mouth, fuzzy bipartisanship is not going to do them one bit of good. If the Republicans can't demonstrate that they are different, principled, smart and possess a definite alternative, they'll be ousted by the same ratios that Dems will be, come 2010. It will be a "throw the bums out" year to remember.

I was frankly shocked a request wasn't made at Mission church to cover all crucifixes, statues, stain glassed windows, or anything remotely connected to images of Christ, or saints, or the Virgin Mary. Obama doesn't seem to comfy speaking whilst religous articles are in view.

tatersalad,
I’m torn on term limits. The last thing I want is a permanent corps of Congressional staffers running things.
What I would do, though, is say that no lawmaker may serve as chairman or ranking minority member of a committee — any committee — for more than four years in the House and six years in the Senate. And no person may serve as Speaker for more than six years. After that, they’re in the rank-and-file.

What they really ought to do is get rid of staffers altogether. Congress/government should be small enough to leave us all alone, and if what they are doing takes too much time then they shouldn't be doing it. Make the reps/senators do the actual work of legislating instead of fundraising/campaigning. Make the bills shorter and write and read them themselves.
