I saw this on a Sunday afternoon with a large middle aged crowd or mostly church going type folks. There were cheers and applause through the whole thing. Some people weren’t turned off by it, by a long shot.

Hitler is portrayed laughing and taking great joy in the onscreen slaughter of Americans. Just as we are expected to at least be entertained by the gruesome slaughter of nazis. We (Americans & Jews) are like Hitler. We are like the Palestinians, using any means to inflict terror (including suicide bombings) on our enemies to obtain victory and/or revenge.

I plan to never see a Tarantino movie in a theater again.

Or maybe: Hitler was a bloodthirsty monster, and we got to see him act like one right before he was riddled with bullets and blown up.

Now let’s let Hollywood make it all seem like a big joke.

Maybe movies about Iraq will finally come out in sixty years and some foppish stars will use it as a comedy opportunity?

I wonder if it would have the same campy vibe if they were slaughtering Commies instead of Nazis?

Good question. After all, far more people were killed by Stalin than Hitler.

Or what about a “vengence” movie about Islamic Jihadists? Seems more relevant than Nazis.

I do like World War II movies, but I am not going to watch this Tarantino Turd. If there is one thing I hate in World War II movies, it’s historical inaccuracy.

Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, Das Boot and Der Untergang are all excellent World War II movies. IG is not.

Total crap, an easy mark to try and make some change and revitalize his lousy career. If he wanted to do something with some impact it sould have been the taliban or al qaeda.

It’s hilarious! Even the Great Shocking Tarantino is a total pansy a$$ when it comes to that!

Their deaths have a gruesome voyeuristic quality to them, but then again, they’re Nazis — it’s Quentin Tarantino…

Most of the Sergio Leone movies with Clint Eastwood dealt in interesting characters and anti-heroes, especially A Fistful of Dollars, which challenged the audience to pick any side at all.

You mean Yojimbo. A Fistful of Dollars was just a Western remake (which then got re-made into Last Man Standing).

And as far as “mixed reviews,” it gets a score of 89% positive from 227 critics (both famous and not) on rottentomatoes.com

AS was in the theater I was in.

The premis of IB is absurd, and THAT is why its a great QT movie. Kill Bill Vol 1 and Vol 2 rise to the quentisentially absurd, but its riveting in the execution of literally dragging you from one scene’s meaning to the next scene’s seemingly disjointed impact, culminating in the Geshtalt of it all being wrapped up at the end.

Its like liver. You either have a taste for it or its the worst stuff you could ever taste.

You either loathe QT’s work, or you love it.

I intend to go see it again, and add it to my QT collection once it hits the stores.

ps, I always go to matinees. I’m basicly cheap that way.

His technique lacks any sense of subtlety, so to me he comes off like a first year film student trying hard to impress. For most of his movies, it feels like he’s in the room, grabbing me by the shoulders and shaking me, yelling, “See what a good director I am! Hey, did you catch that? You don’t see many directors today using that old technique? Oh, and how about this part? Aren’t I edgy?!?”

He wrote one good movie (True Romance), and directed one great movie (Reservoir Dogs). Ever since then, he’s joined the “How do these horrible, hack directors still get to keep making movies” list, along with Tim Burton, Kevin Costner, Oliver Stone, and David Lynch.

“The Hurt Locker” and “Bravo-Two-Zero” has some good terrorist killing in it. But the best stuff by far is the combat footage you can see on YouTube. Simply do a search on “Kill terrorists”.
